Warning: Spoilers
This episode was designed for Halloween. Scary agonizing and full of mystery. I thought thr girl, Samantha, was an aline but I lost all my hopes...

The tiny problem was a few nonsense. How can an 8 year old girl and a horse survive in a "tin can" alone for 7 months while there is a lethal monster wandering around the halls? -1 point but still the episode is very good.

Warning: Spoilers
Good Episode, except for "Dr Smith" tired of this character. This episode She breaks into a security room and deletes footage of her on the Resolute. How can she have access to what i would think a highly secure area or the clearance to delete files. Anyways it was a Good episode.

Hold your Horses

Warning: Spoilers
This solid run at the start of the second season continues with this third episode, a haunted house type show with some further shades of grey added to the Harris/Smith character.

Landing on-board the Resolute, the Robinson's hopes of salvation turn to confusion and then fear as they discover that the ship has been abandoned following scenes of a violent struggle. The family learn what we discovered in the first episode, that the fighting robots crashed back into ship. Meanwhile, Dr Smith (Parker Posey) takes the opportunity to destroy the evidence of her previous wrongdoing and we see flashbacks of her previous life.

Fairly standard episode, it's slightly frustrating that we (the audience) are ahead of The Robinson's throughout most of it. We can guess what happened and know what "the Monster" is. That said, it does its haunted house stuff well, the family are fine (again, there's some humour inserted that works) and visual effects are really good (except for one odd moment). The flashbacks for Smith's family are interesting. It's nice to see Selma Blair again and a lovely touch to have Angela Cartwright play their mother. Parker Posey is a great as ever at conveying where Smith's moral line was, and how she's been forced to cross it to stay free (and the damaging effects that is having on her).

The horse misdirection wasn't great though. . . as all it does is lead you to ask what a horse has been eating, on an abandoned spaceship, for 7 months. It's also involved in that poor CGI moment, where it stands perfectly (and unnaturally) still in the back of scene for way longer than is comfortable. You can also reasonably question Smith's ability to access some areas of the ship and how hilariously basic the security protocols are for her to cover her tracks.

Those criticisms aside, another solid episode as Season two continues to be superior to its predecessor.

Better
natashaconnor-9192431 December 2019
Much better directing and the pace finally slows down. Much less use of ridiculous lens flares but still too many imo. Story resembles the feel of season one and is much more enjoyable.

Love the Show but this is the Worse Written Episode - Spoilers Ahead
CaptRon-225 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
WARNING SPOILERS BELOW

First, I love the show and watched season 1 twice, once when it came out and then again before season 2 so I was caught up. That said, sometimes the train comes off the track and while we suspend our reality for this show, this was an episode where the writers just lost their minds and made stuff up. Nothing is worse than dumbing things down to make a story fit so here is my picky parts...

We discover some a couple of weird things about the Robinsons; namely that they keep referring to Ms.Harris as Dr. Smith even through they know it is not her. It makes no sense even though her "real" name was stolen from her sister. We also discover that because of one kind deed in S2E1 she now has the run of the ship...pretty trusting for a family that this person tried to kill.

We finally get to the Resolute in this episode and immediately Ms.Harris is off to clear her name. She discovers Don West has Dr.Smith's physical ID so she takes it even though the whole family has seen it. She then amazingly enters Security on the Resolute which is a restricted area, logs in with an ID that has rights to personal files, and makes a few changes to Dr. Smith's profile so it is now her. This the part that kills the show... How does she get into a secure area? Who's user name and password did she know to access restricted files? With the hundreds of thousands of hours of video recordings, how did she manage to quickly isolate the file exact files of her interrogation and the murder of a crew member? How does she deleted protected video files? Does the Resolute not have backups, alerts to change files, etc.? If she has this access, why doesn't she delete the records of herself?

She then finds the real Dr. Smith in a medically induced coma and removes his ID implant, putting it in herself. While this gives her a bio device, how is it that she is suddenly able to go anywhere on the ship. If the real Dr. Smith has that kind of access, wouldn't someone in Ship's company recognize that isn't the same person?

Finally there are the Robinsons. It should be common knowledge that Ms. Harris is fraud but given she has cleaned her records, they accept this and admit defeat - WHY? This makes no sense in this episode. Hundreds of people know this so unless we find out in future seasons that this was all playing out in her head, this part of the story completely falls apart as it is beyond belief - bad job writers.

I could go on but I will leave it with the show is okay but the whole Dr. Smith thing really dumbs the show down. I love Posey Parker but this character is written poorly and needs to go.

The worst script in this episode
zorp90929 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
So Smith is now also a computer hacker who can bypass all security. She naturally knows all types of computers, securities, she has IQ of two Einsteins, yet she is just a thief.... with super powers. Is this Marvel show?

Why script writers can't use normal realistic scripts, story. It would be much more appealing for audience then just having this totally and completely unrealistic story.

Actors are great, but script-story is going from realistic to child's book of unrealistic fantasy.

The bad chick
chrisvg-5497324 January 2020
Must go. There is no valid premise for her existence in this series and nowbthey are apparently basing everything on her. Rediculous. They have nothing!

Finally some story development
ben-millen125 December 2019
So after the 1st 2 dire episodes we finally get some story progress, the world expands beyond the Robinson's which was sorely needed, I finally felt the need to watch the next episode, the peril as ever is pretty wasted due to us knowing they're not going to kill a member of the family but it was much better, though still not deserving of the high scores it has achieved on here so far

WHERE'S THE HORSE?
muldermadeline4 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It was established in this episode, season 2 episode 3, that there was a horse trapped on the abandoned spaceship.

However after the conflict of the episode is resolved the horse disappears, if only for the sake of plot conveniency! But how did the horse get there, survive on this abandoned ship for months, and still be healthy enough to walk around and do normal horse behavior?

I couldn't take the rest of the episodes seriously because I was wondering where the hell the horse went? Please don't introduce a lone animal survivor if you have no intentions of providing an explanation for how that animal got there and survived, also said horse is never mentioned again. Justice for the horse 🐴
