Absolutely terrible
celsdani18 August 2019
The show is stupid. The mom and dad are idiots that drive me nuts. It's not teaching my child anything so it gets shut off in our house, hope it goes off air soon.

The kid is cute and may have a good career ahead of him but the parents are annoying and really give of a 'exploiting a child for money' Vibe. The show is generally annoying and I switch to Disney Jr every time it comes on. Let the poor kid be a kid and get an education.

It is terrible

It seemed like they could have done so many different things with a new show like this. The show is terrible and boring . It has absolutely no educational value. The moms voice makes me want to plug my ears . The show feels just like a cash grab.

WTF is this
mrbanygoop22 April 2019
Nickelodeon is giving anyone a show now, I mean really, does this kid REALLY need a TV show? Isn't YouTube enough? Also, this show has some of the worst acting ever.

So painful to watch
samantharosejolly9 May 2019
Everything is so scripted. First of all, just because this little kid got famous for playing with toys on YouTube doesn't mean he deserves a TV show. The special effects in the show are so terrible. The "challenges" aren't challenging when they are completed in 30 seconds. Nick Jr can do better. They have so many other shows they should focus on.. butterbeans Cafe, shimmer and shine, etc. please cancel this show

Just made for money...
chukoloco5 June 2020
The show stars a kid which is part of a massively popular YouTube toy channel named Ryan's Toy Review, and for some reason, the show got aired to Nick Jr. It feels more like a way to give out more money for their family which they are more than rich to even keep all of the cash. Plus most Nick Jr. shows are educational so it doesn't really make sense that this show does not have a sense of teaching or educating. They should give out morals of an episode, or just make it like a real kids show that teaches valuable lessons, then it would be way better.

Needs a new concept
beamarina5 May 2020
Ryan is very famous enough that kids will always recognize him. But this show is horrible with his type of platform. They need to give him a more educational show so kids can really listen to him. This playdate show is bad because it literally doesn't teach children anything, just kids wishing to do what he does. Make a new show for him, with educational learning . And take out the parents or make them to do something less annoying.

I'd love the see Ryan hosting shows as if he was a teacher to the kids watching.

Straight up abysmal
mlgamerdoge24 May 2020
I watched (one?) episode of this show and it was BORING. I had a toy channel phase once and those videos look actually fun compared to this. The whole show is basically "Watch this rich family who already make millions off of YouTube play around and have (scripted) fun while you get to do nothing!" It's just boring.

Seriously??? So awful!!
sharoycent27 May 2019
The first time I saw this on television I wasn't really watching. I was getting myself and my son ready for work and school, so the show was just background noise. I thought it was one of those cute commercials that kid channels sometime show. Then a few minutes go by and I'm thinking, "why is it still on" I go to the guide and see that it's actually a television show. I keep in on in the background to see what it's about. ITS SOO AWFUL! It's the worse thing I've ever seen. It's hard to follow, the acting sucks. The show is literally someone playing their living room games on a set. Nothing educational, or fun about this show. My 1year old son is not even interested in this mess. I have never made a review before. I made an account to comment on how awful this is. Get him off television!!

Remember, the show is for the kids
iirejukoii21 April 2019
It's predictable but the show is not for adults. This show is simply the Ryan Toy Review with a actual budget and a set with challenges and bath bomb fizzers. My daughter loves the show and wants to watch more. That to me is priceless, because I can get 20 minutes of downtime for myself.

My son loves this show I don't watch it at all. My little one sits down and guess the mystery items sometimes he gets it and sometimes he doesn't. This show is most for 5 and under.

Mike TV reincarnated
nishaamckinney14 September 2019
Anyone who remembers the original Willy Wonka film should remember an irritating, spoilt, overly exposed to TV kid called Mike TV. Basically this is that kid with today's technology. It's embarrassing. However it's clear its about his parents exploiting him to make money. In years from now he will sell his story as he goes through rehab again. Not someone I want my child to be anything like. It's a NO from us!

Why is this still on TV? PLEASE CANCEL this show
bdambrose7 April 2020
Where do you start? This is not a likeable family. The parents over act so bad and I can't believe it is legal to exploit children like this? Is this good for him? His schooling? Is this violating child labor laws? But those points aside, this show is just horrible. When it comes on, my kids trip over each other to get to the remote to change the channel. Just cancel this show. The world will be a better place for it.

It is VERY bad...
annatetreault24 March 2020
I am a 90s kid, so Nickelodeon holds a special place in my heart... from Rugrats and Are You Afraid of the Dark? to Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents, I've always been a fan.. despite the shows not always being educational. Sadly, you can find nothing like these shows on regular Nick anymore... it's just mind-rotting garbage masquerading as an "educational" kids show... just like YouTube. I'm sorry, but at this point, making slime isn't educational..

All this said, I have a four year old son who started watching Ryan on YouTube when he was two... I didn't mind the channel at first, but the more fame he gained the worse it got. The main problem here is his mother.. his dad is almost as bad because he just acts like a doormat that will do anything the wife throws at him. The kid Ryan, will be the next kid star who is screwed up due to seeing how his parents are perfectly okay with using him to make millions... I honestly think the kid is sick to death of it.. sure it started out as family time on YouTube, but as soon as the mother showed her face on that show, it went downhill.. please cancel it!!! For Ryan's sake... he needs to stop sucking up money for his parents and go enjoy what he's made so far. There are plenty of videos and things for people to watch... he's had his moment. Since clearly, he will never make it in show biz... the kid is just an average kid with no acting talent... ! Let him be a kid !

Pointless
burleykyle27 April 2019
Poor acting aside there is little to no educational value to this show. Not sure what Nick was thinking when they came up with this. I'm just glad my kids want me to turn it off instead of watching it.

Completely unwatchable
xlovercp29 April 2019
No educational value to this show not to mention it's obnoxious. We turn it off every time it's on and that includes commercials. Not at all sure what nick or pocket watch thought to create this show. We enjoyed Ryan's toy reviews and they should've stuck with that. They were more educational than this. As a parent I'm disappointed in the quality of the show, every second of it is scripted in the worst way. Can't wait for this to run its course and get off Nick.

Ryan is rotting my soul.
boamaxg7 February 2020
Over the last few months, I have noticed some new things about myself. There was once I time when I would walk outside, smell the fresh air, stand in the sun, and feel good about life. But things have changed. I no longer look at the universe with the same sincere passion. I've forgotten the ways in which I used to find the untapped euphoria in the various nooks and crannies of my small world. I didn't know what was causing it. At first I blamed the cold weather, or the rainy days, or the person that looked back at me in the mirror. But it wasn't long before I realized the true culprits: That cringe infant and those disgusting old boomers from that nick show my little brother watches. I can't so much as crawl out of my bedroom without being forced to witness Ryan attempt to formulate English sentences, or the snorting of that pig he calls a father. And bro, it's not like I haven't tried to end it. I was desperate enough to try to get him hooked on frickin Team Umi Zoomi. But he always returns to this nauseating eyemelter, Ryan's Mystery Playdate. I suppose I'm doomed to an eternity of emotionlessness; a reality in which I may never again find the slightest indication of joy. Thank you, Ryan, for being the ultimate soul-rotting force that's driven my sanity off its rails.

Edit: My mom is the only human being over three years old that enjoys this show.

Ryan's Mystery Playdate
rbolosan21 April 2019
I enjoyed watching this show and regardless if his parents can act or not dosen't matter. The show was entertaining for my grandson who has been an advid fan since he was 3 yrs old! I think we should focus on the how he started off, Ryan and his family from the beginning shared their love of there son to everyone on YouTube. All the YouTube videos show them having fun as a family and enjoying playing with their son. My favorite episode from YouTube is when they made slime. This show is fun and we all love it and waited along time Ryan. Congrats on your Own TV show! Happy Easter!

Missing what normal little kid's shows have: lessons and teaching
First off I watched a few episodes, and as I am an adult I still watch some shows like this just to see which has the best lessons for children in case if I ever became a parent. Needless to say I've seen worse baby shows that actually provide lessons for children which should put this show to shame.

This one is obnoxious and the parents (like any non-actors hired in any media) should maybe act normally and not have overbearingly bad performances.

That really isn't the problem. The problem is the "puzzles" are not puzzles whatsoever. It's literally "find these in this one area", "don't touch the floor it's lava or infested with something" and the "object scanner" doesn't do anything that helps a child learn what the objects are. So the kids who watch the show don't take anything to face-value.

All I know is if this show is still around when I have a child, I will not make them watch this. They don't need to lose brain-cells. They need to grow them.
