Better than I Thought It Would Be

I watched all 6 episodes yesterday. Based on all of the reviews, I expected it to be boring and snarkier than it was. It was interesting and definitely not nasty. They clearly have a strong marriage. Also what came across loud and clear is that they love living in Montecito. Neither of them enjoyed being Sr Working Royals.- certainly not for a lifetime. But it was Harry who made the decision to leave his Sr Working Royal job. Since Harry is not the heir, he wanted an outside life and profession like many of his cousins. The second half is stronger than the first half. I think they both did a good job presenting their positions.

Love This Show

I have watched this show since it first premiered. What is there not to like? I enjoy seeing all of the luxury real estate on the West Coast in exclusive areas. I enjoy the professional aggressive tactics by the featured realtors. I I had to hire one of them, I would choose Josh Flagg. He seems to have a better feel for matching his clients with the right properties. He was born wealthy so he has nothing to prove - nor does he try to impress. I look forward to each season. I gather for the new season the British Team will not be part of the show and also no Edmund. I was sorry to hear that Million Dollar Listing will no longer be filmed. I gather than both Edmund, Ryan and the new Gold realtor decided to not participate. Since I live in Chicago, I enjoyed seeing residential real estate in New York City.

Blonde (2022)

Fabulous acting by Ana DeArmas and her supporting actors.

The first half of the film was terrific. The end was too arty and vague. The should have included the musical "Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend" from Gentlemen Prefer Blonds"and more of her music number from "Some like It Hot". Marilyn enjoyed big success in her life. I thought they portrayed her life as a total downer - too much so! I think Ana de Armas.was spectacular and is worthy of an Oscar nomination. I think she is going to be a big star. The actors who portrayed her Joe DiMaggio, Arthur Miller, and her mother gave wonderful supporting performances. This is not a movie that you will want to see twice. I think it would be interesting to read the Joyce Carol Oates novel that the movie was based on.

Argo (2012)

Very well done entertaining film

I walked out of the movie theater knowing Argo would be nominated for Best Picture and just might win. It is a well directed, well done movie. The screenplay also won a well deserved Oscar. Ben Affleck deserved to be nominated and win an Oscar for Bedt Director.

The Last Movie Stars (2022)

Enjoyable

Since I am old enough to remember the beginning of Joanne and Paul's career, I thoroughly enjoyed this mini series documentary. I wish after going over all of Paul's 10 Oscar nominations, I wish Paul had been at the Oscars to accept. It was so wonderful that they showed the total Kennedy Center Honors Presentation. All I can say is so many very ill children have benefited from their charitable endeavors. I know I always buy Newman Popcorn, salad dressing etc. Two great actors/ who gave back to their craft as well as humanity. I am sure I will rewatch this documentary at some time. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

Top Gun Maverick is a spectacular movie. It deserves to be seen in the movie theater. The story, flying scenes, music is all perfect. Don't miss seeing this wonderful sequel in the movie theater.

I just rewatched this series after not watching since middle 90's. I still laughed my head off! They really poke fun at all female proclivities. The series stands the test of time. It is still absolutely hilarious.

When I watch this interesting series with superb performances by Julia Roberts and Sean Penn, I always think great casting. I always imagine that Julia and Sean both Oscar winners and friends sat on Julia's deck on the beach at Malibu decided this would be their project together.

Breaking Bad: Ozymandias (2013) Season 5, Episode 14

I agree with all of the other reviewers. Ozymandias is one of the finest episodes of television ever. It deserved all of the awards it received. The plot, acting, dialogue were all perfection.

Renee Zellweger is a superb actress as we all know! At first I was not sure about story. This series gets better with each episode. I suspect Renee Zellweger will get an Emmy award. At the very least she will get a nomination.

I am enjoying The Gilded Age and will continue to view weekly. We are still in the process of being introduced getting to know the characters. Julian Fellow's knows how to weave a tale so I suspect the story will get more complex as the series unfolds.

Smilin' Through (1932)

Delightful Film

I thoroughly enjoyed "Smilin Through" It is superbly acted by Norma Shearer, Fredric Marsh, and Leslie Howard. The film was nominated for Best Picture in 1932/33. The story is about a man whose bride was killed on their wedding day by his rival. Later the man has an opportunity to raise his murdered bride's niece. It sounds melodramatic, but the superb acting by Howard, Marsh and Shearer makes the film delightful. This film was later remade with Jeanette MacDonald in the Shearer role. I prefer the original. It is a better film with superb actors at the top of their profession.

Another Season Please

I think this show is entertaining! The acting is excellent so is the storyline. It is like Dynasty and Dallas! It is fun to see a show portraying wealthy, high society African Americans with a lot of intrigue and complications from extreme wealth in very high end settings.

So Nostalgic

I was a little girl when "I Love Lucy" was on at 8:00 pm CST.on Monday night. Everyone in the USA watched that show every week and looked forward to it. It was a very funny show. Lucy and Ricky's son being born also was a huge deal. There is no series today that generates that volume of viewership. I thought all 4 leading stars captured Lucy, Ricky, Ethel and Fred. Nicole totally captured Lucy's voice.

Like Seeing Old Friends

I thoroughly enjoyed the reboot of Sex and the City. I also liked the classy way they handled Kim Cattrall not appearing in the series. I felt while watching the first two episodes, I felt I was catching up with old friends. I look forward to seeing weekly additional new episodes and hope they continue. It would be great to see Kim Cattrall make guest appearances.

I think they made a mistake not showing Chris Noth in the finale in Paris in flashback. I think the cast should have remained silent on his accusations. They were too quick to jump on the bandwagon. Chris Noth added sparkle to the series through 6 HBO series and 2 movies. I hope they do a second season of this new series.

Amusing Show!

No one is more surprised than I am that I enjoy this show. I laugh out loud sometimes! Lately I think the star of the show is Nanny Faye! She is such a character with good comedy timing. I learned about this series by word of mouth from my teen age niece - clearly the show has an audience. Part of the appeal is that they are all so relatable!

What makes CSI Vegas so great is the return of William Peterson and Jorja Fox, The original iteration of CSI Las Vegas was a very popular show. CBS thought they could make different iterations, but what made the show so good was the original cast especially William Peterson.

Santa Fe Trail (1940)

Entertaining Movie

This movie is not historically correct, but just a screen play based on a semblance of historical facts. It is one of the first Errol Flynn Olivia DeHavilland movies directed by Michael Curtiz that I ever watched. I did not see it in the movie theater, It was already an old movie when I watched it on TV. It made me want to see other Errol Flynn movies. Santa Fe Trail has a lot of big stars in it, The only issue I have now is that it needs restoration. In its heyday Santa Fe Trail was a huge hit for Warner Brothers.

Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942)

Cagney is Sensational

I always enjoyed James Cagney as a very talented actor. After seeing Yankee Doodle Dandy, I was even more impressed. He more than deserved his Oscar for his portrayal as George M. Cohan. Cagney's dancing is beyond superb! My favorite scene is at the end when he dances down the White House Steps.

The Candidate (1972)

Entertaining Movie

I just recently rewatched this film, it was entertaining, well written and well acted. Robert Redford was so handsome-perfect for this role. I laughted when Melvin Douglas who played his father and former Governor stated "He will get a lot of votes. He's cute."

Line of Duty (2012–2021)

Great Series

I have looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed all of the 6 series of Line of Duty. It is a well written and well acted series. Since the boss seems to be retiring, I suspect the series with original cast has come to an end - a disappointment!

I just recently rewatched the 6 seasons of the Downton Abby series on Amazon Prime. I had not seen the series since the original broadcast on Masterpiece Theater. It was even better than I remembered. I saw the first movie and I, of course, will see the second movie when it opens in December, 2021.

I thoroughly enjoyed Atlantic Crossing! I know it was not historically accurate. It was well acted and entertaining! The story of the Norwegian Crown Princess and FDR is not a well known story. Even though it was a slow burn at the beginning, the story was well worth my time.
