Star Trek: Enterprise: Broken Bow, Part 1 (2001)
Season 1, Episode 1

In a word, Excellent!!
17 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I am one of the odd Trekkies I suppose Star Trek TOS was never something that I set out to watch. I am not a fan of William Shatner and his constant overacting, however he is Kirk all others fail(no offense to Chris Pine). Leonard Nimoy set the standard for every actor to portray Spock or any Vulcan, although Zachary Quinto's portrayal of the half Vulcan half human was very good. I know that this is supposed to be a review of Star Trek Enterprise, so here we go.

The fact that Scott Bakula portrayed the Captain Johnathan Archer (The Original Quantum Leaper) is what led me to watch the first episode Broken Bow. Seeing the "arrogance" , an emotion, being portrayed by the actors portraying the Vulcans was my favorite part. It's a human male and perfectly normal thing to notice that T'Pol the Vulcan science officer potrayed by Jolene Blalock is gorgeous(hey all you women that are calling me a sexist my wife said it first) is my favoriteVulcanafter Spock. The actor portraying Ensign Hoshi Sato, Linda Park also gorgeous, does a great job of pulling off the frustration anyone must feel when presented with a new language. Ensign Travis Mayweather portrayed by Anthony Mongomery (from my wife's point of view he's there for the ladies to look at) is excellent as the first helmsman of the Enterprise. Lieutenant Malcolm Reed the armory officer, undoubtedly a nod back to the British sailing vessel Enterprize, is a new position however a perfect addition. Now we all know the "Miracle Worker" that was Montgomery Scott in TOS (I said I never set out to watch the original series but I am not uncivilized and I married a huge a ST geek)now we see the first Chief Engneer of the Enterprise in Lieutenant Charles "Trip" Tucker III, potrayed by Conno Trinneer once again like Scotty pulling things off in record time. It's worth the watch for the uninitiated and for the diehard fan alike. Give it a watch. Like I said EXCELLENT.

ItI would give a half star if I could.

I would give a half star if I could. I usually enjoy the Rock in whatever he does all except his T. V .show "Young Rock" and this utter waste of time movie. Everything about it sucked. From openning credits to the end it sucked. I was really hoping that it would be a good movie but it simply isn't. I wasted two hours and four minutes of my life to watch this snooze-fest. It was horrible, terrible, bad, and at times insulting. There have two movies that I really wanted to see 'Black Adam' and 'Black Panther Wakanda Forever' they were both bad with the exception of Angela Bassett and her portralia of T'Challa's mom there are no reasons to rush and watch.

Maybe I'm just tired of comic based movies
27 March 2023
Like the headline of my review says, maybe I'm just burned out. I went into 'Wakanda Forever' with no preconceived notion that this movie would be as good as the original, it's not. I really enjoyed 'Black Panther' and when it was nominated I wasn't surprised. There are some incredible actors, Angela(she should have won best sorry Jamie Lee)Bassett, however Chadwick Boseman's presence was sorry missed. It seems to me that they tried to hard to make us accept the fact that he was missing. However I wasn't really fond of Shazam or the last Spider-Man movie. In my opinion the best comic book based movie was Zach Snyder's directors cut of 'Justice League' I haven't seen the new 'Shazam' or the last 'Ant-Man' movie. I guess I am looking for something that isn't being offered in Hollywood anymore, something original.

Pennyworth (2019–2022)

A Really good show but.........
27 March 2023
As a long time reader of comic books I was really looking forward to Pennyworth and for the most part I wasn't disappointed. The actors and the writing are all top notch. You may be asking what my "but" is all about. My question is how necessary was the profanity using fu** is simply not necessary and in my opinion it cheapens the show. I am not a prude and I understand that in everyday life profanity shows up but to sit and consciously write profanity and give it to an actor to deliver. I watched 'Saving Private Ryan' and I was warned by several people, including two that fought in WW2, that it was almost felt like being back in the war. I would expect profanity in a movie like that but is it necessary everywhere.

I really tried to watch this movie.
27 March 2023
Once again I simply do not understand what the people responsible for choosing which movies are nominated and eventually win the Academy Award for best picture. Sometimes it's right on point with picking Schindler's List but with every Schindler's List there's a "Moonlight" I tried to watch "Everything Everywhere All at Once" the minute it was available to stream it it was a boring slow start and I didn't get past the first fifteen minutes. When I saw that it was nominated for best picture I tried again same results fifteen minutes in and I stop watching. I saw that it won best picture so I tried to watch it again, I forced myself to watch it all and I simply don't get it.

Doesn't suck as bad as Ang Lee's turn at The Incredible Hulk.
14 February 2023
Doesn't suck to bad. I absolutely despised Paul Rudd in green Lantern so I was wondering how this movie would be, not Green Lantern bad it isn't ha horrible as Ang Lee's Incredible Hulk. Paul Rudd does a good job handling the character, however let's be honest if it weren't for the graphics that is Green Lantern's costume there would be no character. I wasn't a big fan of either Deadpool movies profanity and going for the lowest common denominator doesn't make for a good movie, just my opinion. Remember Christopher Reeves in the original Superman movie no need for profanity in that movie. Not a kid friendly movie so beware.

Fair at best
16 June 2019
I saw this movie free so I suppose I shouldn't complain to much. It was a madhouse just getting into the theater and I didn't understand the applauding by the audience. I will be criticized for this post but I simply don't care. The movie was way overhyped and I simply did not understand the Oscar nomination.

Great for it's time
28 January 2019
A great t.v. show with special effects that were surprisingly good for the time. I remember this show and was happy to find a copy of the series. My nieces have grown up with movies and t.v. programs the leave little to the imagination, however they have enjoyed my wife's and myself on a tour of the nostalgic. This show the Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman are favorites at our house.
