Thor (2011)
10/10
Best Superhero flick since X-MEN
26 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I have seen Thor two times already and I freaking love it. It was one of the top five films of summer 2011 and one of the best films the entire year. It will be snubbed at the academy awards but it will get some nominations at the MTV movie awards. Thor is one of the greatest superhero flicks. It is a s good as my other favorite superhero flicks such as X-MEN, The Dark Knight, Spider-man, Superman 2, X-MEN First Class, Watchmen, and Spider-man 2, plus Captain America. People who did not like Thor did not give it a chance. I already am dying to see The Avengers and I need to read some Thor comics as well. I loved the great cast. The best performances were by Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Ray Stevenson, Kat Dennings, and Stellan Skarsgard. This is the second Hemsworth film I've seen and he's become one of my favorite actors. He was awesome, funny, and gave a kick-ass performance. Thor was a bratty jerk at first defying his Father and boasting about his powers but he became a man on Earth. I liked his romance with Natalie Portman. One of the funniest scenes was when Thor asked for a horse at the pet store. I thought Anthony Hopkins was intimidating but noble and real intense as Odin. I liked when he stripped Thor of his power and banished him. Tom Hiddleston gave a wickedly funny performance as Thor's jealous step sibling Loki. He was evil but had reasons to hate Thor. He was weaker and not super-handsome like Thor. He was a great villain, I liked his armor and his horned-helmet was creepy as hell. I liked it when Loki went to earth and he was dressed like a businessman. I loved the battle at the end between Thor and Loki. Stellan Skarsgard was great in his brief role. Kat Dennings was hot and sexy. Natalie Portman was great too, this is one of her finest roles. The destroyer was a cool villain, I liked it when the shield agents thought it belonged to Tony Stark. Thor was awesome again and everyone should see it.

Cool Vampire Love story
19 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I've seen New Moon about 8 times and I consider it a good movie. It is not as good as Twilight or Breaking Dawn part 1. I thought Robert Pattinson and Kristen stewart did a good job but Robert was better in Twilight. I like New Moon but the middle drags a little and I did not like when Edward left Bella. I like the opening scenes with Bella afraid to turn 18 and getting presents from her Dad Charlie and Edward's family. I liked the scene where Edward recites dialogue from Romeo and Juliet. I found the scene when Edward Left Bella to be sad and dramatic. I liked the middle scenes but Bella's depression got on my nerves. I felt bad for her but it just got to be too much. Jacob Black Bella's other love interest is not my favorite character but I thought it was cool when he turned into a wolf. I liked when Bella met the wolf pack and the scene where she confronted Laurent was creepy as hell. The ending scenes were great and I thought it was bad when Edward thought Bella had killed herself. I did like the scene where he found out about her supposed death and crushed his cell phone. That was a cool scene. I liked the Italy scenes where Edward went to the volturi. The Volturi leader Aro was super creepy and I consider him the Italian Dracula. He was a bit perverted but a great movie villain. Michael Sheen did a great job playing him and he is one of my favorite actors. I also liked Dakota Fanning as the vampire vixen Jane. New Moon is a good film and has great performances from Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Michael Sheen, Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, Graham Greene, and my personal favorite Billy Burke as Bella's Dad. New Moon is funny, intense, sad, and romantic. The only bad parts is when bella is depressed and that Edward is gone for most of the film. Everyone should give New Moon a chance.

Footloose (2011)
10/10
One of the top feel good movies of the year 2011
14 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I saw the Footloose remake in 2011 and thought it was a very good movie. I found it funny, sad, dramatic, romantic, and toe-tapping fun. I liked the original a lot but hated the book-burning scene. I liked the cast in the new one. I usually am not very fond of unknown actors but Kenny Wormald who played Ren did a great job and won me over. He was funny, handsome, and a good dancer. He looks a bit like Kevin Bacon. The cast was top notch. The best performances were by Kenny Wormald, Dennis Quaid, Julianne Hough, Andie Mcdowall, Miles Teller, and John Patrick Flueger. Dennis Quaid was as good as John Lithgown was in the original. His portrayal of Rev. Shaw Moore was good, in this one he just seemed too over-protective of the town and his daughter Ariel. In this one he hates Ren at first but begins to like him. In the original John Lithgow did a great job but at times he was too much of a jerk. Julianne Hough was funny and sexy as Ariel. She did much better then Lori Singer was in the old version. I liked that the old version of the songs appeared in the film and I liked Blake Shelton's cover of the title song. Blake Shelton sang the song good but the Kenny Loggins version was better. I like the cover of Almost Paradise better then the old version. I thought Miles Teller was great as Ren's redneck pal Willard. He was goofy and just as great as Chris Penn in the original. I liked when Ren taught him how to dance. I liked that the cast was not just all white people. I liked the Latin beauty who played Ariel's pal Rusty. And two characters Woody and Andy Beamis who were white in the old one were black in this version. This version is modern but is quite faithful to the classic one. Most of the great lines were the same. I liked the dance at the end, and I liked it when Ren confronted the council. John Patrick Flueger was somewhat scary as Ariel's older boyfriend Chuck Cranston. He was an ignorant ass and he became a good villain. I did not like it when he fought Ariel but I'm glad she smashed his truck. She did not take crap from anyone. I also liked the fight scene at the end when he and his gang fought Willard and Ren. Ren kicked his ass and saved the day. Footloose is a great movie even though it is a remake of a classic. People need to see it because they'll have a great time.

Fright Night (2011)
9/10
Super Cool Vampire flick
7 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I am a big fan of horror movies and vampire movies in general. I have seen the original Fright Night but have forgotten some of it. I always liked vampires but years ago it was mostly Dracula, Blade, and Angel. I thought Fright Night was a great movie. It was funny, sexy, and scary. I thought it had some great horror music. It had some of the best music I've ever heard in a movie. The cast was great. I really liked the performances by Colin Farrel, Anton Yelchin, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Toni Collette, and David Tennant. Colin Farrel was funny but also scary. I liked the scene where he turned Ed into a vampire. I liked when the hero's girlfriend threw holy water in his face. I liked the scene also where he killed some bullies and he had long claws. He was cool and handsome in his human form but super scary when we saw his monster face. Jerry the vampire is one of the best vampires. Right up there with Dracula, Blade, Edward Cullen, Lestat, Angel, Stefan and Damon Salvatore, Bill Compton, and Eric Northman. Colin Farrel gave a great performance. This is one of his best films alongside Daredevil, Horrible Bosses, Crazy Heart, and Hart's War. I'm glad he stopped drinking and doing drugs. I liked Anton Yelchin as the hero Charlie. I thought he was a jerk at first but he was nicer later in the film. I did not like how he treated his best friend Ed. They were the best of friends and then Charlie rejects him just because he's dating the hottest girl in school. I liked the mom played by Collette and it was bad when Jerry tried to kill her but I liked it when he burned their house down. He said he didn't need an invitation in if there was no house. I liked when he was stabbed with the realtor's sign and I liked the battle at the end with him Charlie and Peter Vincent. I only had one problem with the film. I thought David Tennant was funny bu his character Peter Vincent was better in the old one. He was an old man brilliantly played by Roddy Mcdowall. In this one he was an idiotic horn-dog who acted like Criss Angel. He was better in the end when he helped Charlie battle Jerry. I also liked Christopher Mintz Plasse. He was funny and it was cool when he became a vampire. I thought Fright Night was one of the best horror flicks in 2011. Everyone should see it.

Best Disney movie ever
31 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I have seen Beauty and the Beast about 25 times. I own it on DVD, and Blu-ray. I still own my old video copy of it. I am obsessed with Disney and Beauty and the Beast is my favorite animated Disney film and it is my favorite Disney film of all time. I have seen the stage version at Hollywood studios and I've seen the Broadway version. I love everything about the film except the villain Gaston. Gaston is one of the most vile villains ever to appear in a movie. He is one of the only Disney villains that I hate. I like the Beauty and the Beast was romantic, funny, full of adventure and drama and I think it is the saddest movie I have ever seen. I always cry at the end. Beauty and the Beast is the most romantic film ever made, it is my favorite musical of all time and one of my most favorite films. The Beast was mean and resentful at first but it was his fault that he was this way. He was miserable and wanted everyone else to be too. He turns out to be charming and funny, sweet and romantic. One of the best scenes is when he gives Belle his library. I love when Belle and the Beast dance to the title song. The battle between the Beast and Gaston was another great scene. I also love when Belle tends to his wounds after he saves her from the wolves. My favorite character is the Beast, but I also love Belle, Mrs. Potts, and Lumiere. I hate Gaston but his theme song is good and The Mob song is a well-written hate song. He only wanted to kill the Beast because he had a rival for Belle'a affections. At the end he completely deserved to die. My favorite songs are Beauty and the Beast, Be our Guest and Something there. Beauty and the Beast had an amazing cast. Robby Benson, Paige o'Hara, Richard White, Jerry Orbach, Angela Lansbury, David Ogden Steirs, Tony Jay,and Bradley Pierce all did a wonderful job. I'v always loved Angela Lansbury mostly because of her being Mrs. Potts. I like Beast so much that I even like Beauty and the Beast 2-the enchanted Christmas. I may own the movie but I plan on seeing the 3d version. I could debate with anyone who does not love Beauty and the Beast. It is one of the greatest films I've ever seen and I think it is the best animated film I have ever seen or will ever see. On IMDb I give it ten stars but in reality I give it 170 stars.

Best Batman flick ever
22 December 2011
I was blown away when I first saw the Dark knight. It is better then Batman Begins and is one of my most favorite movies. I am glad Heath Ledger was nominated but The Dark knight should have been nominated for best picture. Heath Ledger was very capable at playing the joker. I like the scene where he killed the gangster with a pencil. Aaron Eckhart was great at playing Two-Face and did better then Tommy Lee Jones did in Batman Forever. He was evil but I felt bad for him. I liked the hospital confrontation between the joker where he used his coin and spared joker's life. There's only one bad part of Dark Knight. I liked the final battle between Batman and the joker but after he was captured for good they did not show him in Arkham Asylum. I think Maggie Gyllenhall did better than Katie Holmes and I liked her scene with the Joker. Christian Bale gave an Oscar worthy performance and he had improved since Batman Begins. I also liked when Lucius Fox referenced Catwoman. I can't wait to see The Dark Knight Rises. I am kind of glad that Bane is one of the villains. He's not that well known but he is famous for breaking the bat. If Heath Ledger had not died he would have been in Dark Knight Rises. He would have teamed with Bane. Everyone should see The Dark Knight because it is an excellent film.

Second best X-men film
17 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This summer I had seen X-men First Class and consider it one of the best films this summer. It is also one of the best this year. The cast of stars that varied from rising to veterans was amazing. The best performances were by James Mcavoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, and Jennifer Lawrence. Michael Fassbender brought something different to Magneto than Ian Mckellan did. I now consider Magneto to be a tragic figure. I found it sad when he became evil but I'm glad he killed Sebastian Shaw. The ending scene was amazing. I liked when Magneto broke into Emma's prison cell. His uniform was cool and he had painted Shaw's helmet purple. Matthew Vaughn is now one of my favorite directors and this is his best film yet. Jennifer Lawrence was gorgeous as Mystique and brought more to the role than Rebecca Romaign ever could. In my opinion she was in love with Xavier but he loved her back just as a sister. Emma Frost was a great character but I don't like January Jones anymore but she was hot in the lingerie outfit. I liked when Magneto met with the bank manager and killed the two Nazis in Argentina. This movie deserves all kinds of Oscar awards but will only get nominated for best visual effects. One consolation for this X-men fan is that Fassbender will get nominated at the MTV movie awards for best villain. at the Oscars IT SHOULD BE NOMINATED FOR BEST COSTUME DESIGNS. I liked the x-men uniforms, Magneto's suit at the end and the sexy outfit Emma wore. I'd find it hard to believe that anyone could not like this film. This is a superb superhero epic and is way better than Wolverine and X2. Everyone should see it.

Twilight (I) (2008)
One of the greatest modern love stories
6 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I became a fan of the Twilight series in 2008. I read the first book in the series and then I saw the movie version. Soon after I became obsessed with Twilight. I own lots of merchandise including the soundtracks, movies, pins, key chains and the official movie guides. I have seen Twilight 18 times. Some people hate Twilight but have no reason to. I thought Twilight was an excellent, funny, intense and romantic love story. It's a big movie but feels like a smaller movie. It's Beauty and the Beast meets Romeo and Juliet. I thought Edward and Bella were a great couple. Bella's Father Charlie is one of my favorite characters. I did not like at first when Edward was being jerky to Bella but he was trying to protect her. I love the fight scene at the end in the ballet studio. I think the movie has great songs. James was a great villain but he could have had more scenes. I thought it was creepy when he noticed Bella was a human. Edward is my favorite Cullen and I like Alice and Jasper a lot. I thought the dancing scene was beautiful and I like when Edward saves Bella from the men that noticed her in the dress shop. I think everyone should give Twilight a shot. It's for anyone who likes romance and fantasy.

5th Best Disney musical
5 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I am a huge Disney fan and my favorite Disney film is Beauty and the Beast. I have seen Princess and the Frog 9 times and I enjoy it each time I watch it. My favorite characters are Tiana, Prince Naveen, and Dr. Facilier. Dr. Facilier is now one of my fave Disney villains. I thought he was real cool and his song Friends on the other side is the best in the film. I would compare Tiana to Belle but there are a few differences between the two princesses. My other favorite songs were Almost There, and Dig a little Deeper. I think the movie is funny, sad, full of adventure and wonderful characters. I always find the scene where Dr. Facilier summons his friends from the other side is creepy and it always gives me the chills. The voice cast was top notch. The best vocal performances were by Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, Jenifer Lewis, Bruno Campos, and Michael Leon-Wooley. At first I thought the firefly Ray was annoying but I grew to love him and found his death sad. Dr. Facilier deserved his death at the end and this is the most romantic Disney film. It is second to Beauty and the Beast. I think anyone who loves Disney should see this film. It is better than Tangled.
