Twin Peaks (1990–1991)

The town itself is a character
28 May 2023
Twin Peaks is not your typical whodunit/whydunit mystery-detective story. Aside from its dark and avant-garde nature, the narrative is character-driven and highly metaphorical. Describing this show as 'complex and strange' is a huge understatement. It employs surrealism, the supernatural, the subconscious, hyperdimensional realms, and extradimensional beings as elements to craft an utterly unique plotline. The series is riddled with symbolism, and viewers have to keep track of the 'little details.' The creators have brilliantly encapsulated the entirety of life's spectrum, skillfully portraying the diverse intricacies of human existence through its exceptional characters and their quirks. Overall, the show offers a challenging viewing experience that requires active engagement and an open mind to fully appreciate its depth and unconventional storytelling.

Get Jinxed 2.0: The Series
20 November 2021
This is it. The long-awaited League of Legends series everyone is excited about. I gotta say the 'visuals' are exceptionally marvelous. I really liked how the characters and scenery are drawn/animated or "brought to life". The colors are vibrant and well-balanced. It follows the "Get Jinxed" Music Video animation & art style so it's not as vivid and polished as the 'cinematic'-quality releases. But, I can comfortably tell you without a doubt that the character design is topnotch and background details are amazing. In other words, its quality is top-tier in terms of photography & cinematography.

As for the plot, the series focuses mainly on the character development of our beloved 'Piltovan' protagonists (aka 'Champions' in-game) including also the sinister agendas of our 'Zaunite' antagonists. There is so much conflict between and within them which expands the complexity of the story so there's not much of a problem in that department. Expect hextech & chemtech weapons, action-packed sequences, emotional scenes, drama, and, of course, sick OSTs. I have zero complaints in the voice acting and sound effects department. The audios are absolutely great.

Over-all, Riot Games: League of Legends' first-ever animated series is outstanding as it portrays the backstory (or origin story) of the characters as well as the lore of couple of its regions really well. Lastly, I hope to see more animated series or sequels depicting other factions in the League universe as well. As an ex-League player myself and a fan of animation, I quite enjoyed the show. The best (MOBA) game adaptation series I've seen thus far.

Cowboy Bebop (2021)

SEE YOU SPACE COWGIRL, SOMEDAY, SOMEWHERE!

First off, I just wanna point out that I don't care what the critics say. The original anime hits differently. Its impact is on another level so its not comparable to this. Therefore, there is no comparison between them cause they're not alike in terms of how the story is portrayed-I simply watch it as it is (or shall I say, I look at this as an alternate timeline). As an avid Cowboy Bebop fan since my childhood days, I'm just super grateful they made the live-action adaptation possible. Also, huge kudos for keeping the beloved OST's especially Mai Yamane's - "The Real Folk Blues" which is my all-time favorite anime ending theme. I definitely enjoyed the entirety of the show quite frankly. Thanks again Netflix, I've been waiting for this series my entire life.
