Shingeki no Kyojin (2013)
A Must See
This was the second anime I ever watched (Death Note being the first) and that was before I was the anime fan I am now. However from the first episode this show had me hooked. A friend recommended to me, I was hesitant at first (I thought it would be non stop action) but this friend and I were close so I decided to watch it for his sake. I've now tried to get other friends in into the show. First of all, let's talk about the tech. The animation is some of the best I've seen in a long time (now having watched more anime I can appreciate it even more). And it's not just the animation. The soundtrack is truly amazing and helps add to the show. Now let's discuss the characters. I've seen reviews complaining about how the protagonists are teenagers, or how Eren is moody and stuff of that sort. Now, I think there is a reason that this main characters are teenagers and this reason is that the show's target audience is teenagers. Chances are, the writers want the audience to be able to relate to the main characters, and if the audience is mainly teenagers, than the main characters are most likely going to be teenagers. And Eren being moody would make sense, given that he is 15 years old. It's a great show, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013)
Disappointment
As a major fan of the books (notice the name) I was very disappointed. The first one was bad, but I had higher expectations for this one. Major parts of the novel were skipped, as well with events that happened in the fourth book were shown in the second movie. Kronos is shown rising, which doesn't really happen until The Last Olympian, book 5. I was thankful that they included the story of Luke, Annabeth, and Thalia. Then again, they had to. The entire story is based off saving Thalia's tree. The friend that was with me enjoyed it, but she hadn't read the book. In other words, if you haven't read the book you might enjoy it, if you have, prepare to be disappointed.
Doctor Who: The Angels Take Manhattan (2012)
I'm very conflicted about this episode
Yes I'm so conflicted about this. I loved it. It was interesting with unexpected twists. Then we go to the end. The four (Amy, Rory, The Doctor, and River) go to a graveyard where the tardis is parked. They are talking when Rory notices a gravestone with his name on it. At that moment he instantly disappears and we see a weeping angel with her hand stretched out right where Rory was standing. Amy then realizes that there is room for another name on Rory's gravestone. On the stone it states that Rory lived till 82 so they know he wasn't killed then, he was just sent back in time. Amy insists on letting the angel take her too. It does and Amy's name appears on the gravestone. So that's why I'm so conflicted about this episode. I can't decide if I love it or if I hate it. So there you go
Star Trek (2009)
Amazing film
in the words of Janice (from friends) OH MY GOD. I loved this movie. it's amazing. I've never liked the show, but I LOVE the movies, now I mean, none of my friends would see Into Darkness with me, but that's okay. the actors (mainly Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto) are attractive, but they are also good actors, good for the roles they play. the plot is good, and it's interesting. my favorite scene is when Kirk and Spock go to take Nero on his giant ship. this scene was interesting, and though it was violent, it was not graphic. there are a few character deaths, especially when Nero destroys Vulcan. these are interesting and the movie is amazing.
