The Week Of (2018)
Few funny moments but disappointing for the most part...
I am a huge fan of Adam Sandler I think he's a great actor and comedian also his other Netflix movies I actually quite enjoyed I found them to be funny but this one isn't one of them I mean sure there were a few funny moments but that wasn't enough to save the movie I guess Adam Sandler and Chris Rock were a good match in this but for the most part it was dull. I mean I could follow the story and it wasn't a very good one also there was this hotel owner in it who just kept laughing the whole time it was very annoying I kept thinking "Why the heck is this character laughing so much?" I guess the filmmakers just thought it would be funny but it wasn't. Adam Sandler wrote this movie just like he writes all these movies...apparently he made a deal with Netflix now I'm not sure how long it will go on but I hope the next movie will be better than this one. I'm not saying the acting was bad it's just the story and the dialogue I'd say if you're a hardcore Adam Sandler fan then check it out but if you can't stand him don't.
Frequency (2016)
Great show...
I just got done watching this tv series as a huge fan of the movie when I first tried getting into it in 2016 when it first started I kind of thought I may not end up liking it so about 3 episodes in I stopped watching but now I finally decided to pick it up again I rewatched the first 3 episodes I'd already seen with an open mind...it ended up sucking me in I had to know what was going to happen next I loved this it held my interest not once was I bored this is definitely one of the best tv shows based on a movie that I've seen. Peyton List as Raimy Sullivan was just awesome so was Riley Smith as her dad Frank who she communicates to through the ham radio in 1996 not going to spoil too much for those of you who haven't seen it but they do change things with their actions in this too for example in the beginning of the show Frank is undercover and Raimy knows he's going to end up getting killed so she tips him off about it so he's able to defend himself then after he survives it changes and he's alive for a little longer he actually gets to see her follow in his footsteps by becoming a cop. The same serial killer also is in this which I like...The Nightingale who abducts and murders nurses the hunt for him is interesting only in this he isn't a dirty cop in this he's just the stepson of a church Deacon I'm sorry for that spoiler. Anyway if you like the movie I'd say definitely give this a look but it definitely ended on a cliffhanger it was only the Season 1 finale I definitely want to see it continued I hope eventually they do but they haven't since last year so my guess is there was really no faith in it not many people liked it so they decided not to continue it it did get good ratings for the most part though so I don't understand it I really hope they do decide to continue it.
Insidious: The Last Key (2018)
A decent film but not worth paying to see...
I went to see this in theaters tonight and it was a decent film but not anything I haven't seen before it was pretty much a repeat of what we saw in the previous films except you got to learn a bit more about Elise's history and her gift plus this time the story takes place in her hometown mainly in the house she used to live in she was called there by a man who now lives there at first she refused once she found out it was her old house where her mother died but then changed her mind and went to help also of course you have her 2 partners which she hired in the previous film. All in all this film did make me jump a few times it had a few good scares but at the same time it was a little boring I'm not saying this is a bad film it's just not as good as the first 3...I definitely enjoyed Insidious Chapter 3 more than this one and the first 2 a heck of alot better I'd say if you're a fan of the first 3 you should check it out but the best part is definitely that it focuses alot more on Elise's character also of course Angus Sampson and Leigh Whannell as Tucker and Specs were awesome I thought they were quite funny in parts plus I like how you get to see her meet her nieces Imogen and Melissa when they stop at a diner then her brother also shows up she tries to reconnect with him but fails at that point he ends up yelling at her for abandoning him and leaving him with their cruel father and so on but later on they reconnect after she saves Melissa's life after her spirit is taken by a demon living in her old house I'm sorry about these minor spoilers. Josh Stewart from The Collector and The Collection also makes an appearance as Gerald Rainier his performance was pretty good I liked him in the role but the best out of everyone is definitely still Lin Shaye I also knew exactly how the film was going to end I saw it coming if this is the last prequel it's obvious I'm sure now if they want to continue this franchise they'll have to pick up after the Lambert family's story after Elise helped them but personally I think they should just stop here because they've told the entire story I'm not really sure where they could go from here. I give this film a 4/10 because of the good acting and the few jump scares but that's about it compared to Lin Shaye the others were average though.
Scary Movie 5 (2013)
Has some decent moments...
I read some reviews before watching this and I was quite skeptical going into this I didn't like the beginning except for Charlie Sheen he was the only thing funny about it and the ending but the middle did have some decent moments except for the part where Kendra pole danced at the ballet studio kind of looked away when I saw that the rest was pretty alright apart from the ending I never saw Mama but the way they spoofed it was kinda funny,Paranormal Activity spoof was OK,Inception was a pointless and unnecessary spoof but kind of funny I guess,Evil Dead spoof was pretty funny too in the cabin in the woods also Ashley Tisdale wasn't bad in this either actually quite liked her acting she was pretty believable i liked how they spoofed Black Swan with her only I didn't really think spoofing that was necessary either plus the Rise of The Planet of The Apes spoof was pretty funny too I didn't like that Caesar was narrating the whole movie though that was kind of stupid but I liked the scene where he was shoved into the back of a van with his ape friend and told him that Dan played by Simon Rex he was Jody's husband who was of course played by Ashley Tisdale that they had a mad demon in their house then the other ape misunderstood thinking he said Matt Damon was in their house and that he loved Jason Bourne lol that was hilarious all in all quite a decent movie except for the beginning and ending I give it a 5/10 I won't recommend it though let people decide for themselves if they want to watch it or not.
Atomic Blonde (2017)
Atomic Blonde is definitely better than Bond...
I just got back from an advanced screening for this film and I got to say it really was awesome I loved it it was so action packed also much more entertaining than the Bond films in this Charlize Theron plays an MI6 agent called Lorraine Broughton who is sent to Berlin to work with another agent played by James McAvoy who goes by the name of David Percival to retrieve a list and bring in a double agent called Satchel dead or alive now the story is definitely great I loved the story and the action fitted so well into it and the acting by both Charlize Theron and James McAvoy was amazing there was also a French intelligence agent in this film who was played by Sofia Boutella who was in the god awful film The Mummy but I won't talk about that now she was actually good in this film and her and Lorraine had a brief relationship also she helped her find out that Percival set her up gave information to the KGB and wanted them to kill her they tried but failed as she ended up killing them all they didn't go down without a fight though I just loved this from beginning to end Atomic Blonde is definitely a film that you'd enjoy if you like the 007 films but like I said to me this is much better I won't spoil who the double agent turned out to be as you really need to find out for yourself that's one of the surprising twists in this film I highly recommend it and give it an 8/10 this is one of the best of 2017 for me so far I look forward to what's next.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Better than The Amazing Spider-Man and Raimi's trilogy...
I finally saw this tonight was looking forward to it ever since I heard about it and when I saw the trailer I was even more pumped for it and I was not disappointed this was a pretty good movie I really did enjoy it Tom Holland was the perfect Peter Parker/Spider-Man I didn't like the fact how he never really did anything about his love interest though I mean he asked her to the homecoming dance then left her there that was about it but he was great as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man for sure and we did have your side characters like Flash,MJ except this time her name was Michelle not Mary Jane I'm kind of fine that they changed that the girl was this loner didn't have any friends but later on kind of made some she was a pretty awesome character and Peter's love interest Liz was great but the character I was most surprised about was Marisa Tomei as Aunt May I didn't expect her to be that great but she was amazing I thought I'm glad they went for a younger actress this time...I also liked the villain Adrian Toomes/Vulture which also turned out to be Liz's father which I was not expecting that was a shocker for me and Tony Stark was great as his mentor kind of prepping him to be in the Avengers he offered him a place closer to the end but he turned it down also there was a scene on a ferry that kind of reminded me of one of the other Spider-Man movies. The Amazing Spider-Man was good for the Spider- Man origin story but this movie was great because of Tom Holland he is definitely the best Spider-Man I was glad when he made an appearance in Captain America Civil War I was excited because he finally would get to be in the Avengers but it was just one mission and was hyped to see more of him and was really satisfied I can't wait for the sequel give this a 9/10 highly recommend it this is better than The Amazing Spider-Man 1,2 and Raimi's Spider-Man Trilogy altogether although the origin story in The Amazing Spider-Man was great but this movie is better Andrew Garfield is not the best Spider-Man to me he's second best.
The Mummy (2017)
Disappointing start to Universal's Dark Universe...
This film was definitely a disappointing start to Universal's Dark Universe and the worst performance I've ever seen from Tom Cruise he was terrible as Nick Morton also was Sofia Boutella meant to be creepy or menacing as Ahmanet? Cos she really wasn't I didn't find her to be either of those things she spoke very little and I found her to be a very stupid and pointless character for sure even Russell Crowe wasn't that great as Dr. Henry Jekyll basically in this film Ahmanet was set free by Nick and taken over by her she had chosen him for a ritual she was going to stab him with a dagger that would allow the God of death to inhabit his body but this is a major spoiler in the end he did it himself to stop her which was a pretty stupid move I mean he did stop her but he also did what Ahmanet wanted even though she didn't end up doing it to him. This was the most pointless film I've seen in 2017 so far, poorly acted, poorly filmed and the CGI was pretty terrible I really wouldn't recommend this I just didn't like the fact that the mummy in this was a female I liked it better when it was a male mummy this is obviously a reboot kind of but just with a female I hope they don't make a sequel to this and I hope the next film in Universal's Dark Universe whatever it will be is much better. I give this a 2/10.
The Girl Next Door (2007)
Disturbing but well filmed...
This film is disturbing and engrossing of course but it definitely is well filmed, has good acting,is very well made also you can't really take your eyes off the screen it's interesting the story that is told it's sad what happens of course after all the torture and abuse this poor girl took was almost sickening to watch but not as bad as for example A Serbian Film that's just perverse this isn't not really I've already seen this a couple of times what happens is brutal but not the most brutal abuse I've ever seen on screen I'd say check it out if you're a fan of psychological films ones that mess with your mind because this one definitely will I don't want to get into detail about what happens for those who haven't seen this but want to and people who have already know. All I'm doing is voicing my opinion I do recommend it if you want a film that is messed up but not too messed up that's the best way to put it it's more shocking to watch than brutal I mean everything this girl went through at the hands of her own family her blood you should never treat your family like that and it of course began with one of the boys from back then as an adult starting to tell the story. Give it an 8/10.
Bad Teacher (2011)
Not as funny as I thought it would be but not bad at all...
Watched this for the first time and it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be but it still wasn't bad I didn't really laugh out loud but I was kind of laughing on the inside Cameron Diaz as Elizabeth was really good she pulled off her character this gold-digging teacher who seemed to learn that money isn't everything in the end the whole movie she was raising money for breast implants which she didn't even end up getting there was also this gym teacher who kept going after her while she was trying to sink her claws into this other teacher who she knew was rich but after she realized money wasn't that important her and this gym teacher got together which was played by Jason Segel now that's another great actor very talented the whole movie she acted like he was beneath her just because he taught gym then she chose love over money which was a good choice and ended up as a guidance counselor at the school which I thought was cool but before that she was lying and cheating to get her way she cheated on the test of the students by getting the answers illegally to win a $5700 bonus that was the worst thing she did but before that she supervised a car wash that was meant to be for charity and took it for her breast implants another pretty bad thing too anyway if you're a fan of comedies or Cameron Diaz I say check it out I give it a 6/10.
Srpski film (2010)
Disturbing and sickening...
I just finished watching this film I avoided it for so long and now I know the reason it really was disturbing and sickening the things they show in this about halfway through the main character Milos is forced to bang a woman tied to a bed then the psycho who is directing this "art film" as it was called was yelling at him to cut her head off so he did he was on some sort of drug I don't really want to go into many details but this so called art film was actually a necrophilia themed snuff film it wasn't art and the director was just a man who liked to film torture, brutality, child abuse and of course necrophilia it wasn't just him it was a whole organization I mean who do they make these sick, perverted films for? Are there actually people out there who enjoy the sick and twisted genre? I mean up until now The Human Centipede 2 has been the sickest, most disturbing and depraved film I've ever seen but this tops that I don't think I will be able to sleep after this I mean I liked the actor who played Milos he played the part well how he went crazy after being forced to do all this stuff then he just ended it because after what him,his wife and child went through they couldn't take it anymore this is a pornographic film it just took that way too far in my opinion sure we all have fantasies,we all watch that kind of thing every now and again it's natural but this is psychotic I can't believe there was a director out there who had an idea to make a film like this I am never going to delve deeper into this sick and twisted stuff because if this is disturbing I shudder to think what else is out there that might be than this I didn't enjoy this once it picked up it was horrifying to watch they slowly built up to it but by the end and about halfway through I questioned why I was still watching but then thought to myself I got to finish what I started this is the kind of film that makes you really sick to the stomach like you want to vomit if you have a weak stomach I suggest you stay far far away from this I give it a 2/10 it was filmed beautifully but the content was unlike anything I've ever seen.
All Eyez on Me (2017)
Not bad...
I saw this tonight just go back a little over an hour ago and I thought it wasn't bad at all but I guess it could have done Tupac's life and career more justice now I missed the first 5-10 minutes of it but was just the beginning when I got there nothing had really happened yet to me the most interesting part of the film was his career I mean he was telling his story to a reporter when he was in prison for a crime he did not commit it showed how the justice system screwed him it was quite sad now I'm not sure what's true and what's not but it seemed like it was quite spot on and what they showed of his life and career from the time he put himself out there to the time he was shot dead when he was 25 I mean it showed how he inspired people, how his lyrics influenced people, how he was called a black leader because the vice president talked about him on television and called him that from that time he apparently had a bullseye on his back that was getting bigger also the actor that they picked to play Tupac Demetrius Shipp Jr. was spot on looked almost exactly like him and kind of talked like him it showed him performing Hit Em' Up he wrote that to diss Biggie because he apparently dissed him in Who Shot Ya which he heard when he was in prison he was told to let it go but he wanted to make him pay that's what ruined their friendship now I wasn't around when Tupac was alive and in his prime but I heard a lot about him and what happened to him how he was shot dead when he was 25 then I started to listen to his music and I saw he was a poet a real inspiration in fact I am listening to him as I write this may he rest in peace he was amazing now I haven't seen any of his films like Poetic Justice or Juice but I do know about them may check those out at some point he only got to make 7 films before he was shot dead which was sad if only he had lived a little longer it's still unclear who shot him but there are a lot of theories but I know for a fact that Biggie had nothing to do with it they were pretty much family until that ridiculous feud. I give this film a 5/10 I'd say check it out if you're a fan of Tupac and his music he may be dead but his fans live on I am definitely one of them but I sometimes wish that I was around back then.
Wonder Woman (2017)
Great entry in the DCEU...
Finally got to see this film and I got to say that I really did love it Gal Gadot as Diana/Wonder Woman was just perfect I'm not going to get into any spoilers because this is definitely one that you should see for yourself without knowing anything about it I mean I read some reviews before seeing it so I was pumped to see it and it definitely lived up to the hype this is the best DC film I've seen so far for sure I mean I enjoyed Batman v Superman but this was definitely better in my opinion I loved the main villain which was Ares the god of war who Wonder Woman went to Earth with Steve Trevor to kill because she knew that he was the one causing the first World War now that isn't really much of a spoiler because I won't go into detail about how she does it. I can't wait for Justice League it'll be all the DC superheroes together it'll be awesome I'm sure of it but this is definitely one of my favorite films of 2017 so far I'd highly recommend it if you're a fan of the DCEU and superhero films in general I mean I like Marvel more because they develop the characters and films more but DC is a close second I can't wait to see more Wonder Woman and what it will be like with all the DC heroes joined together even though I feel it was a little bit rushed but still sure it will be good. Give this an 8/10 definitely one you should see in theaters.
Baywatch (2017)
Better than I thought it would be...
This movie was definitely better than I thought it would be the entire cast was awesome and it was hilarious when I saw the trailer for this I just thought it would be another cash grab which it kind of was but a good one if that makes sense Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron as Mitch Buchanan and Matt Brody were a great team I also liked how Mitch always ripped on Matt those jokes were hilarious the names he called him like One Direction,Nsync and my favorite one was probably High School Musical that was the best one and right on the money because he really was in that I don't get why this is bombing at the box office it deserves to make money another thing I don't get is why some people hate on this movie so much it doesn't deserve the hate it's getting I mean I know this is kind of a reboot of the show which I never watched but the acting was great,it was well made for a comedy and the slow motion while pointless was pretty good another thing is the amount of hot babes like Alexandra Daddario as Summer Quinn and Kelly Rohrbach as CJ I mean I don't know what else she's been in she didn't look all that familiar but I did enjoy the chemistry between her and one of the new lifeguards Ronnie we also had cameos by David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson who played Mitch and CJ in the original show now that's all I know about the show as I've never actually seen it. The main story of the movie is there's a drug being distributed around the beach but that isn't all that's going on the villain Victoria Leeds is trying to make the beach private property by blackmailing the property owners into signing over their properties to her that's what I understood anyway. To me this is probably one of the best movies of 2017 so far I enjoyed it more than I thought it was I actually thought this wouldn't be good at all so I was pleasantly surprised there will hopefully be a sequel but not if it bombs so I do wish it picks up and gets back the budget so they can work on a sequel. I give this an 8/10 if you're a fan of the show I highly recommend you check it out and even if you're not if you just want a fun time I recommend you see this.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
Disappointment for the most part...
This film was a disappointment with only a few decent moments and one saddening scene which I will get into soon but first let me point out that I only went to see this because me and my friends couldn't get in to see Alien Covenant which is what we really wanted to see right now I'm going to talk about everything that I didn't like...1. I didn't like the fact that Jack Sparrow wasn't the same pirate we know and love he seemed washed up like he didn't have it in him anymore 2. The villain Captain Salazar played by Javier Bardem he was just terrible and so corny they tried to make him come off as funny but that just didn't work 3. It wasn't as action packed as the first 3 Pirates of The Caribbean films were now I'm only saying the first 3 because I haven't seen On Stranger Tides I actually heard that wasn't that good of a film but at some point I may give it a chance because I'm sure it's better than this. Now the things I did like and the one thing that kind of saddened me...1. I liked the scene where Jack Sparrow robbed the bank that was kind of funny and the only scene where I thought that he could be the same pirate we know and love but after that I threw it out of my mind because it just went downhill after that 2. The fact that Will Turner was showed in the beginning talking to his son Henry who wanted to lift his father's curse by finding the Trident of Poseidon 2. The sad thing is when you see Barbosa die who is the father of one of the other main characters of the film who I didn't really care about because her acting was so horrible but her name was Carina Smyth I mean that just seemed unlikely that a pirate was the father of such an intelligent girl but like I said it was quite sad to see him die because he was a huge part of the series but it was time to write that character off I didn't like that scene at all though 3. The last thing I liked is the ending of course when Henry broke Will's curse and they were reunited with Elizabeth that was just beautiful that happened because he broke the Trident of Poseidon but in the process he also broke the curse of Captain Salazar and his crew I won't get into how or why he was cursed because that explanation in the film was just boring to me I can't believe a film series based on a Disney attraction went on for so long to me personally I think it should've stopped at 3 which was At World's End that would've been a good ending this is definitely the worst Pirates of The Caribbean film I've seen but who knows maybe when I finally see On Stranger Tides that may change although I'm really not sure. Anyway I give this a 4/10 I mean if you're a huge fan of Pirates of The Caribbean you might like this but you also may not an example of a fan who didn't like it would be me.
The Fate of the Furious (2017)
Did not disappoint...
This was my most anticipated movie of 2017 then I got even more pumped for it after seeing the trailer and I'm glad I was because this definitely did not disappoint it was awesome I loved it this is now my 2nd favorite in the Fast and Furious franchise at first I predicted that Dom would just turn his back on his family for his own reasons that it was his choice but turned out to be much bigger than that Cipher who's played by Charlize Theron in this basically blackmailed him to do it told him that he would kill Elena and the child he never knew he had if he didn't co-operate with her so he ended up working with her to a certain point but he was also figuring out how to get himself out of it without Elena and his child being harmed although she did end up being killed anyway which was sad because she was a huge part of his team and his family to me. There was something else that puzzled me that I was kind of disappointed about and that was the fact that Deckard Shaw who had killed Han then came Dom and his team for his comatose brother is all of a sudden working with them all of a sudden they're friendly but as the movie progressed it made more sense to me that he was after that I warmed up to that idea I was glad that he was part of their team now because he really ended up bonding with them especially after he saved Dom's son from Cipher they connected after that which I was glad to see plus the fact they mentioned Brian and Mia was nice they gave Brian a proper goodbye in Fast and Furious 7 then an honorable mention in this one which was great I cried closer to the end I won't reveal that because I don't want to spoil why to me this was just as great without Paul Walker they still managed to make it bigger and better now don't get me wrong I'm still sad that he's gone still sad that he will never appear in a Fast and Furious movie again but there's still story there still things they can do with this franchise I hope they end it well because they have 2 more movies to go I actually predict and hope that in Fast and Furious 9 Sean will become a part of Dom's team I reckon that will be awesome because I like that character plus I also can't wait to see how things progress now that Deckard is a part of the team and before I forget Ramsay is another character that I feel is now a part of the team even though she only became a part of it in Fast and Furious 7 when Dom and the team saved her life seems like she's settled in well that she's not just a part of the team but the family as well. I give The Fate of The Furious a 9/10 it really was almost perfect to me.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016)
Surprisingly good...
This movie was surprisingly good to be honest I really enjoyed it thought it was definitely better than Resident Evil Retribution which sucked in my opinion the only thing that bumps me is the title Resident Evil The Final Chapter I seriously doubt this is the final movie but I will get into that soon...Milla Jovovich is awesome as Alice once again and the action in this is just really fast paced which to me is a good thing there never was a dull moment I also found the story to be very interesting in this one the Red Queen helps Alice by tipping her off about an antivirus which she has 48 hours to get to or the remaining humans will die so she goes back to where it all began 10 years ago which is The Hive that underground facility from the first one that was built by Umbrella and obviously along the way she finds out Dr Isaacs is alive he tries to stop her from getting the antivirus they fight closer to the end he ends up being killed by his clone and she releases the antivirus now we have reached the reason I doubt it's the last one this is a huge spoiler so for those of you who haven't seen it yet I advise you to stop reading the reason I think it's not over is that she explains that the antivirus could take years to reach the rest of the world as it's airborne so her work is not done meaning it was ended on a cliffhanger an open ending so there is a high probability in my opinion that they will make a Resident Evil 7 but if this is the final chapter for sure then I am happy with the way it ended and say farewell to a great action/horror franchise I definitely have had a lot of fun with this franchise I give it an 8/10 and highly recommend you see this if you're a fan of the video games or even if you're not have seen the rest of the movies and enjoy them.
Raise Your Voice (2004)
A great movie...
I just finished watching this for the 2nd time was just as good and heartfelt as the first time I watched it I'm a huge fan of Hilary Duff in Cheaper By The Dozen her performance is great in both movies but here her character is quite a confused one it briefly shows in the beginning her and her brother Paul in fact most of that was him encouraging her with her singing he films her then edits together a video and sends it in to Bristol Hillman which is a performing arts program that Terri had a chance of getting into this was after he had gotten grounded by their father after arguing with him about it he sent the video in to improve her chances but he then ends up dying in a car accident on the way back from a Three Days Grace concert from then on Terri ends up lying to her father because she did get into the program she goes and follows her dreams which was exactly what her brother wanted that's pretty much what this movie is about you see her doing her best to achieve her goals also along the way she meets Jay who she kind of falls in love with. I mean I don't want to spoil too much for those of you who haven't seen it but I would highly recommend you see this if you haven't yet this is now one of my favorite movies I love Hilary Duff as an actress and a singer her voice and her acting are both awesome give it a 9/10 definitely worth watching.
Me Before You (2016)
Sad but amazing love story...
This movie to me was a sad but amazing love story now I have never heard of Sam Claflin until now but he was great as Will Traynor in the beginning you see him with his girlfriend in bed then you see him leave it's pouring with rain he ends up getting hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road that's obviously how he was paralyzed and ended up in the wheelchair then you get a bit of background on Emilia Clarke's character Louisa Clark and how she's hired to take care of him from there they slowly start to warm up to each other and fall in love when she finds out that Will has attempted to commit suicide that he wants to die she does everything in her power to change his mind even takes him on vacation with him and his nurse but there is a scene the last night of their vacation this is closer to the end so this is a huge spoiler don't read any further if you have not seen this...she finds out that she's failed and that all her efforts were pointless she had fallen deeply in love with him by this time he tells her that he still wants to die and nothing will change his mind that he is leaving for Switzerland with his parents his intention was to die there she starts to cry calls him selfish and tells him she wishes she'd never met him now this was probably the most emotional scene in the movie for me apart from the ending which I won't spoil I had to physically force myself not to cry I really did love this it was beautiful this is the 2nd movie I've seen with Emilia Clarke I haven't seen her in anything else except for this and Terminator Genisys which I also love. Now I'm not sure if the director of this is British or American but wherever he's from he did a great job with this movie and I applaud him for it I hope to see more movies like this in the future I really think Emilia Clarke should get herself out there more because I'm not sure that she has done that much but I think she's an amazing actress even though I've only seen her in 2 movies. I highly recommend you watch this if you haven't yet I give it a 10/10 to me it was perfect.
xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017)
Quite enjoyable...
I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would this had some great action and stunts also Vin Diesel never disappoints in my opinion whatever the movie in this he returns as Xander Cage one of his best characters in my opinion this is the kind of movie where you just need to switch off your brain and have fun with that's exactly what I did I wasn't expecting Oscar worthy performances or even a perfect movie in fact had no expectations going in whatsoever and I enjoyed it for what it was these kinds of movies are not to be taken seriously I thought the acting was quite good and the fight scenes were awesome I really don't get why a lot of people hate on this movie it's a good sequel to the first Vin Diesel xXx movie now I didn't care so much for State of The Union which was the one with Ice Cube by the way his character Darius Stone makes an appearance at this in some point and it's pretty cool I have nothing against him as an actor or this character he's awesome it's just that movie itself. Anyway back to this I also came across a complaint that Tony Jaa's role in this was too small I didn't think so he was in it pretty much all the way through and he was great so was Donnie Yen. To anyone who hasn't seen this but wants to when you do my advice is go in with no expectations, switch your brain off and just enjoy the action because it surely is a lot of fun I give it a 6/10 the action, stunts and fight scenes were very well done and so was the acting I also liked what they did with Gibbons that's Samuel L. Jackson's character but I'm sure anyone who's seen these movies would know that you also don't really need to see the first xXx to see this one I mean I've seen it but it was a really long time ago and I only vaguely remembered it but still understood what was going on in this one.
The Ring Two (2005)
A very good continuation...
I really enjoyed this as well I wouldn't really call it a sequel it's more of a continuation of the story because Rachel and Aidan return this time the story is different though the only part that mentions the videotape is the beginning where this high school kid tries to get his girlfriend to watch it so she would die instead of him but it didn't work because she didn't look so he ended up dying anyway. The main story of this one is about Aidan and how he is possessed by Samara you know he's been possessed because he starts to get cold plus he also slips into a deep sleep or a coma for awhile then when he wakes up he doesn't act like himself that also gives it away and he also makes a psychiatrist that just wanted to help him kill herself that was kind of disturbing to watch after that he leaves the hospital without being discharged we also have another character called Max in this film but he isn't in it too long but Rachel asks for his help he tries to help best he can before Samara kills him I say Samara because it's her spirit in Aidan's body but one of the best scenes while he is still alive is when Rachel gets him to look at photos of Aidan where she had notices Samara in the background now I thought that was pretty creepy this film doesn't fall short on the creepiness or intrigue but the first one was much better for that I still enjoyed this though was a good continuation and look forward to seeing Rings which hasn't come out here yet but will soon I give this an 8/10 and I highly recommend this for fans of the first film.
The Ring (2002)
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would...
I got to say I enjoyed this more than I thought I would I mean I have never seen the original Japanese version so I have nothing to compare it to but as a stand alone horror film there are so many things about it are good I know this is an American remake and most people who have seen the Japanese version did not enjoy it or avoid it but for me I avoided it for a different reason I thought that it would just be boring because a lot of people over the years told me how it was dull and not worth watching how wrong I was to listen to those people I regret not seeing it earlier. Everybody who's seen this knows the story it's about a videotape and after you watch it you get a phone call telling you you'll die in 7 days now to me this was a very interesting and creepy concept there was one scene in the film that really scared me I saw there were kind of 3 main characters in this you had Rachel Keller who was investigating this videotape after her niece died, you have Aidan who is her son and you have Noah who's helping her to investigate the rape after he watches it the scene I'm talking about is when Noah dies his television screen comes on when he is working and he goes to look then Samara crawls out of the screen and kills him the whole film to me was very creepy and intriguing but to me that was the scene that really stood out I'd highly recommend this for people who haven't seen this it's one that gets to you it gave me chills down my spine I give it a 9/10.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)
Was very disappointing...
So I finally saw Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them and all I can say is that it was a disappointment and felt like it had no place in this Harry Potter universe I know this is meant to be a prequel set 70 years before Harry finds out he's a wizard and attends Hogwarts the only signs that it's even remotely connected is this is about witches and wizards, mentions Hogwarts and Grindelwald who was mentioned in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 as well only in this he's the big threat he's the main dark wizard I just found this film to be boring and it really dragged on wasn't intriguing even for a second to me the Harry Potter films are enough we didn't need a prequel but it seems they are thinking of turning this into a franchise as well there is already a sequel planned for next year but I say don't bother the special effects weren't even good in this and the acting was kind of bad too you see one appearance of Johnny Depp as Grindelwald to me that was the best part and you have this fat muggle with Newt Scamander the whole time this is the main character and the so called "hero" of the film I do not recommend this if you're a fan of the Harry Potter films this doesn't fit into that universe at all for me stick to those films that's my advice.
Star Trek (2009)
Not bad but not great...
I am reviewing this as a stand alone film because I have never seen any of the original Star Trek movies or series so I can't exactly comment on those what I thought of this film was that it wasn't bad I mean it was quite slow at times and not too much action but the acting was quite good by the entire cast now I don't know too much about their characters but the performances were good and it wasn't poorly made or anything like that the special effects were great this wasn't hard to understand the story was pretty straightforward I know a lot of people who are fans of the original series,Next Generation and the films didn't enjoy it and they have their reasons but as a stand alone it's quite enjoyable I think of it as that because like I said this is my first Star Trek film I will definitely watch Into Darkness soon as well I hear that's the best one and Beyond after that because I am somewhat intrigued I give it a 6/10 for the most part I enjoyed it.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Really enjoyed this...
I finally saw this movie and I got to say it was awesome I really did enjoy it it had a lot of action and it was good to finally see the first appearance of Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man the airport fight scene was probably my favorite one in this movie apart from the scene closer to the end when Iron Man finds out that Bucky killed his father but he didn't know what he was doing as he was not himself after that a huge fight between Captain America,Iron Man and Bucky began this movie is so action packed apart from the one scene where Tony Stark goes to Queens to see Peter Parker and ask for help in this Captain America and Iron Man are at each other's throats because everyone else in the Avengers signed this new thing that would let the government tell them where to go,what to do and who to help but he refused to do it as he thought that the Avengers should still have the right to do that that's the main reason why it caused this rift between them. I also like how Bucky and Steve reunite that was an awesome scene as well I honestly can't find a single flaw in this other than the somewhat long and slow conversation between Peter and Tony that dragged on a little but I was glad to see Peter on screen for the first time also Ant-Man was pretty cool too I've never seen the stand alone movie about him and how he became that though this is probably my favorite of the 3...The First Avenger was good to me but was kind of corny the action was good though but wasn't a fan of Hugo Weaving as Red Skull this is the only time I didn't really like him much in a movie,The Winter Soldier was awesome I really enjoyed it but this this outdid both by far in my opinion and I would highly recommend it if you have not seen it yet I give it a 9/10.
High School Musical 2 (2007)
Great sequel...
This is definitely a great sequel I love it this is just as good as the first High School Musical if not better and the chemistry between Troy and Gabriella is just really touching to me this is one of my favorite childhood movies I was a huge fan of High School Musical as a kid and I still am for sure because I rewatch these movies and it really takes me back I remember the first time I saw each of these as if it was yesterday especially High School Musical 3 Senior Year which to me is the best of the 3 I know a lot of people like the first one the best though and this is my 2nd favorite of the 3. I love the choreography and the songs in this Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens are amazing singers and an amazing couple in this and in the other 2 as well anyone who says that this movie is a cash in is wrong I'm sorry if it seems disrespectful or offensive I give this an 8/10 I love this and I always will.
