I first watxched this 16 yrs ago on a small tv on vhs. No wonder i dont remeber much aprt from the bald lady and a big thing in space. Ive now wached it on abig tv on blu ray. MUCH BETTER! OK, its 132 mins long but i watche it in 3 bits. Its very visually striking. How it didnt win best effects i dont know. There were other space features that year of course like alien, the balck hole and roonmaker. The premise is pretty cool. Although in 300 yrs not much could possible be learned.. 300 years in space is nothing.. the neaqrest planet requires afew milennia travelling ! Yes the dialogue is a bit jargony and the clothes are vwery 70s. But its reviews are harsh. The score is great too. The bald lady is a intersting character. The ned is pretty cool. One more thing, how this ship looking for its reator just ahppend upon earth? So surely it knew it already? Yeh some things amke no sense, same any other film really.. so yeh the effects. So good! And paved the way for the effects laden 80s..

Its 1973... and in the future people of course wear 70s clothes. The cgi is prehistoric, but groundbreaking. Yul brynner plays a version of the terminator over a decade earlier. The director had his theme park idea which was revisited 20 yrs later with jurassic park. With far greater cgi. Its not the most exciting film ever, but kinda fun. The remake never happened but a tv series which ive not even seen was made, many, many years later. Young viewers of that series would find the original ancient. Yul does a good job of playing a robot. Is this a warning about the dangers of technology? Maybe.. i cant imagine its sequel futureworld would be as good..

First time ive watched it in roughly 20 years,, I dont remember it at all apart from the end. I was in my early 20s and it probably bored me. I bought it on blu ray as i like old sci fi films they are always interesting. Now in 40s i can pay more attention to it. The scenery is great , and the music, the masks... i guess, charltons acting is ok. But the apes? How are they so well spoken? And how strange that they should speak english? And walk upright/ i guess thats the evolution? But they have such limited technology? Much ridiculousness in this film. The astronauts didnt even bring any weapons with them!! And didnt question why they speak english!!
Sure the premise is a good one,but ill thought out. And how convenient that the statue of liberty was just a short horse ride away?

Its such a memorable film i couldnt remember anything from it the 18 years have passed since i first watvhed it...
Of course im not the same person as then,. And now i thionk ill remmeber it bettre, The opening sequence was pretty cool but theres alot of pretty dull stuff inbetween and the bad guys are a bit laughable and the cops .. but its certainly intersting seeing a young Gibson and a 44 year old film .. of course it was very low budget so they came up with something pretty decent, and with it being set in australia gives it some novelty value. The 'near furure ' referenced clearly isnt very hi-tech.. always good to see revenge gained against the bad guys. The stunts were pretty good and the canmerawotrk.
The music wanst too bad eithjer. Im guessing the sequel is a big improvement,,, i havent seen it just yet. Its fairly violent but not overly. Its certainly bambi compared with saw etc.

No, i dont really want to see mr caprio snogging the face off clare danes for two hours. Ive noticed this is very americanised with all the guns. How wonderful. The music is very irritating. Its just all a bit ludicrous. I think ill go back to the 1968 version, as i dont want to see hailee steinfeld snogging someones face off either.
Ok, the costumes are nice, i guess? I dont treally know what to say as i havent read the play by shakespear. It all sounds like a load of mumbo jumbo. Guess its a great film if you like decaprio? Youngbhearts run free.. wow i hate that song . Its lucky to get a 3.

OK... the special effects are incredible. The action is spectacular. The music is great. The acting is very good.
But- arnold- his acting is mediocre, hes just being himself and acting dumb.. some lines are so ridiculous.. 'uncle bob?' and if you really think about these time travel plots.. they make no sense.
But its definitely worth a watch. I will give it a7.5, there should be the possibility of this on imdb.

I only wanted to watch this as harold 'egon' spengler was in it. But surprisingly he disapears early on in the film.. with no explanation.. anyway films with babies arent my favourite, but this was a quite amusing film. Diane keaton is good, and its quite worrying seeing her in this, as she is my age here, and now is 76 and , yes, looks old sadly. Quite cool seeing 80s new york. One thing did disturb me though, the apperance of the babys nether regions. Not quite sure why this hasnt been censored.. yet people would go nuts if they knew katherine heigl showed her butt at 17 in a film called prince valiant.. I did notice that here in the uk during the nanny interview that the muslim woman was cut out.. guess thats more offensive than baby nudity.. so yeah it was quite enjoyable, more than i thought. Do i like watching films about rich americans though, not really. But she did kind of leave that lifestyle.. or maybe not. So not a film i can really relate to. But what the hell.

I was a big fan of leigh francis previous show Bo Selecta (yes, keith lem isnt his real name). Im not a fan of this character. The show is very crude and stupid with lots of annoying celebrities (jedward were very prominent earlier in the history). It is quite intresting though to see female celebrities subject to some quite gross humour. I watched tonights episode where there was talk of male and female genatalia. The girls are quite happy to go along with it it seems. I wont say too much in case my comment is rejected!
Wont be long before the woke brigade will ban it... for misogyny or whatever.. i dunno, id say its half good half bad. Maybe its time leigh gave the lemon character arest though.. its been 14 years ?? The new captains are okay and do refresh it a bit.

First of all i must thank imdb for letting us review video games. This one i first played in early 1998. And probably the game i have spent most time playing.
A truly magical experience. I am going to review it though from todays perspective. The music is nearly perfection. (i dock a mark for junon theme though which is annoying). Some of the themes are truly emotional ie all the sephiroth music, and the one playing at gold saucer where cloud and tifa are watching fireworks. Ok some of the graphics are very bad, even for 1996 when it was made. (before anyone says anything , it was released early 97).
Characters with blocks for hands and no mouth isnt great. And thats one of the few things the remake did well was make the characters look good. The battle and materia system is perfectly fine and quite an achievement to create. Although many materias you will have to spend an eternity developing which is pointless. The battle/summon graphics are very good and the cutscenes. The story is just great and the main guy sephiroth isnt shown all the time like the remake. Yes the random battles can be annoying. But its all worth it, and plenty of opportunities to save. There is great humour in the honey bee inn and in the gold saucer play. Its not been sugar coated like the remake. The dialogue is a bit dodgy but who cares? Another thing is that it is japanese and feels otherwordly anyway. It is great escapism. The worst thing about the game? I WISH IT WAS LONGER. Even though it is sizeable. We never got a proper sequel, advent children being a bit rubbish. FF8 was ok, but we all wanted a FF7 sequel, didnt we? Another good thing about the original is you dotn have to fight stupid ghosts all the time. It is sad that they tampered with the original story so much. Adding to it is fine though.

Im going to be more serrious for this one. It clearly took some effort. 120 years is nothing in the vastness of time, but look at sci fi today, is vast , vastdifference.
It is very cheesey but is fun. And the first proper sci fi film, so its very important, the acting , i cant judge really as theres no sound.
I must find a clour verison..

This is a far more technical film than its predecor roundhya garden. Not much in the way of acting as they only had to walk down streert. The speical effetcs are far more complex and includes great action such as the horse towing the cart. The directior would not go onto greater things sdadly ass he vanished,.
The film has been quoted as a huge influence on later works such as the 'fast an furious' series.
So more exciting than roundhay and far more visuals.
As ever the blu ray is paper thin.

I am impressed with the cinematrograohy of this prohject. It is ashort film but is very well acted. With unknown leads. The plot is thin but ok for its time. The music is no existent. The blu ray ahs few speaicl features of note.
Special efeetcs for the time are the best thing. It is worth repeated viewings.
The long awaited sequel never emerged sadly. I think maybe if they streched the sttoryline out it would have better review . Recommede other titles of this year include the classixc 'traffic crossing leeds bridge'.

The soundtrack was great the title track being the first rap song i liked. The costumes are very good and more ebliveable than cgi. Its even emotional in parts, satrangely. It got panned on release. Why is this film rated higher than II? 'unusual activity' lol. II will be considered a classic one day despite its flaws. This is just stupid. All the characters are horrid.
Including the secretary. The effects are ok.

I first encountered this game in 2004. The beginning was impressive.
As a big fan of ff7 the diffrence between this and that put me off abit. And i got fed up of the rendom battles in the woods.
So i left it.. for over 11 years. In 2016 i thought ill give it naother go as i now have the power of the net to help me. I started to get into it!
So my thoughts after completing it (with the help of a guide)?
The graphics are another world from ps1. The music is lovely. The characters are interesting. The battle system while different from 7 is quite similar too.
The story is a bit crazy but works. (a giant blob attacking the planet??) it is quite emotional in parts, partly thanks to uematsus great music.
So the bad? Couldnt get into blitzball at all. Glad winning it wasnt essential. The trials are very diffiuclt , even with aguide. (the one on the moving platform is a nightmare beyond belief, even with a guide.) lot less summons than orginal. Tidus is annoying. The sphere grid is comlex. The random battles. A variation of the battle theme wuda bin nice. The end boss is a nightmare. With tedious animations. The story is confusing too. Tidus is some kinda dream? Wot. Anyway, the highs are very high and is a true great game.

I never played the original, this is my first.
The games atmosphere is wonderful, the monsters terrifying. The weapons are cool. Claire is hot. The music is great. The graphics were great at the time, but do look very blcoky now. (apart from the intro and outro).
You have monsters with giant tongues, naked zombies, the spiders from the originasl are back,a giant crocodile, a guy with claws and a face in his chest, monsters spewing from torsos, its pretty sick but oh well.
The story is also pretty good. I do not agree with 2 sceanarios tho, as that wouldnt happen in rela life. And im sad the remake had changed the story. And they did it to FF7 to. Boo.

As i flicked thriough the many channels on freeview, i came across this on uk tv gold. Ive heard of kenny everett but never seen his work, and was a bit wary. This , now rather old, series is a very bizarre and quirky thing. The comedy is very insane but i like it. The music is a nice relief. Hot gossip are intresting,. I wasnt alive in 78 but it makes me feel somewhat nostalgic?
Lots of bizarre effects are used throughout. I will now check out his later work! To the previous post of 2002, yes he did make it to the internet! A thing called youtube arrived!

Yeh people were very scared back in 1973, cos they were all religious i guess. Fast forward to 2000 when rereleased in the uk, people were lauhing their heads off.
It is still kinda scary, if u watch it at night and belive in ghosts and demons. But some of the lines are so funny. 'f** me jesus' seriously. 'suck c*** in hell'.
And the pea soup vomit. Im not religious really so it is kinda a fictional story. But i am intrigued aboutt he story it was based on. Some smart special fx. Cgi would ruin iot today. Shouldnt be rated 18 in my view. Its pretty softcore today. Not exactly human centipede.

Yes i have watched it unlike most who judge it befiore they see it becasuse it fretures young peopel.
The cinematrography is amazing; the acting very good, the storyline is minimal, but egaguing. The soundtrack is also so good.

I wanted a version of the original with much improved graphics and some added elements to story etc. The battle system change i dont have a huge problem with, but the addition of these whisper things irritates me greatly.

Fate? What? What happens happens , stop trying to mess with peoples heads. Which the ending does enormously.. sure it would be boring just to end with the boss from the original. They ahve stretched midgar out a bit much though. Maybe they could have added soem more to the remake from the original...
anyway fighting loads of these unessary ghost things is no fun. And barrett dying? What? And no jenova blood? Seriosuly how original fans arent bothered about this is weird. I do hope one day some company makes an actual remake .... guess they just wanted to appeal to modern fans and not the old people.. sigh.

I absolutely loved this film as a kid. The effects, the guys, the music, the whole end of the world thing, but now..
i now see that the GB films were supposed to be comedies.. somehting i didnt realise until many years later. Obviously this was aimed more at kids cos of the cartoon, which i was a huge fan of. The attempts at humour in this are pretty bad, but some passable. The effects are still good, and the music. The characters still likeable. Janosz ? Great acting by peter, but what a horrible character!
Some stupid stuff also- why is the mayor hating on them when they saved the world? Then he suddenly decides he wants them again? And the statue of liberty was a bit over the top.. i mean its arm moving? Like that would snap off !
Oh well. Due to childhood memories i can never hate it..
