Surprisingly good!
18 September 2019
I went to see this movie with low expectations, given the mixed reviews this movie getting, I left the theaters pretty satisfied. This is a surprisingly faithful adaption to the book, and the movie never gets boring as there's always something happening on-screen. My only complaint is the overt use of CGI, which in some scenes felt artificial. Bill Hader was spot-on as Richie Tozier. As someone who has read the novel, I always thought that the character of Richie had a gay vibe, so making it clear that his character is gay was a nice touch. Overall, great movie, and I higly recommend it.

Manhattan (1979)
6/10
Not a bad movie, but definitely overrated.
15 May 2019
Before anything, I must say that I'm not too much of a big Woody Allen fan, but some of his movies however have left a pretty great impression on me, namely "Annie Hall", "Hanna and Her Sisters" and "Crimes and Misdemeanors". Manhattan however didn't leave the same impression on me, after watching the movie, I felt kind of empty, I felt like it was missing something.

Well, to start off, the relationship between Woody Allen and the 17 year-old girl hasn't aged well at all, specially after all the accusations against Woody by Mia Farrow. But that aside, the movie just wasn't as funny as Annie Hall, It made me smirk once in a while, but no scene made me truly laught out loud, I also thought that Woody's character here was even more annoying than in Annie Hall. I was also expecting far more of the cinematography, every review I read of this movie stated that the cinematography is magnificent, a masterpiece, but aside from the great opening, which I admit it was marvelous, I feel like the movie didn't show that much of Manhattan at all, I was definitely expecting more on the visual deparmtment.

Overall as I said, not a bad movie, but I was definitely expecting much more from the great reviews that I read before watching the movie. I'd give it 6.5/10 if I was allowed, since I don't have this option, I'll give it a 6/10.

Very accurate episode.
11 March 2019
As a Brazilian homosexual who's very worried about the situation in my country right now, I must say that this episode was pretty accurate and informative for non-Brazilians.

The Brazilian politician scenario has taken a dark turn in the recent years. After years of scandals involving the PT party on the car wash scheme, the Brazilians decided to vote for an "outsider", the only problem with this, is that "Bolsonaro" is everything, but a outsider.

Bolsonaro and his family have been inside the Brazilian congress for almost 30 years! Once in a while he is caught in some corruption scandals, for some reason some rumors spread on WhatsApp(Brazilians don't check sources for what they read on their soscial media) that Bolsonaro was the only clean and honest politician in the country., but that's not even the worst part about the Bolsonaro family. Bolsonaro has been a an admirer of our past military dictatorship for years, he said in an interview during the 90s that Pinochet should have killed more people, and that it didn't matter if innocent people died. He has also said many harsh things against blacks, indigenous people, the LGBT community and women. Thing slike: "I'd rather my son to die in a car accident than him appearing in front of me kissing another bearded dude", "my son would never date a black person, I gave him education", "(referring to a group of black people) "they don't serve to do anything, only to eat and get fat", "I had 4 sons, when I was about to have my fifth one(a girl) I got weak and a daughter was born". The worst part about this is that when we show these quotes to Bolsonaro supports, aka: Bolsominions, they Just dismiss it as fake news or say "but at least he's not PT".

As much as I hate PT, I can not understand how on earth someone could vote in a such a disposable human being. Brazil has seen a surge in religious fundamentalism lately, evangelicals are about 33% of the population now and they spread lots of hate and ignorance against minority groups. I think they were essential for electing Bolsonaro, as most surveys suggested that among evangelicals, Bolsonaro was by far the most preferred presidential candidate. I'm really afraid of the future of this country, the level of brainwashing happening here is insane! Just take a look at the John Oliver's video on YouTube, it has lots of dislikes. Everything negative about Bolsonaro always receive tons of dislikes, the "Bolsonaro army" or "Bolsominions" are the dumbest kind of people I've ever met!

The best monster movie of the 1930s!
8 March 2019
Frankenstein(1931) was a terrifying experience for cinema-goers at it's time, but James Whale's greatest masterpiece in undoubtedly Bride of Frankenstein.

Bride of Frankenstein is one of those rare sequels that manage to be even better than the original. After re-watching my Universal Monster's boxset, it's quite clear that Bride of Frankenstein is on a different league when compared to other movies of the set. Bride has a better score, a more gothic atmosphere, subtle homosexual undertones, blasphemous imagery, greater acting and directing. It's the masterpiece of the set, the most daring horror movie of the 1930s that should be watched by every cinema-lover

Still holds up!
8 March 2019
I just finished re-watching Friends on Netflix, and I must say that the show still holds up pretty well. The first five seasons are undoubtedly better than the latter-half, which is more dramatic than the first seasons, but overall it's a pretty solid show.

The show was never as intelligent as Seinfeld, but the chemistry between the actors compensates that. My only complaining are the homophobic and sexist jokes. I know that the show is product of it's time, so I don't feel particularly offended, but I must say that Seinfeld which was from the same era, has aged far better than Friends on this regard(not that there's anything wrong with that!). Seinfeld didn't rely that much on gay jokes, so it has aged far better than Friends, other than that, Friends still is a pretty solid show.

Not funny anymore
15 August 2015
Warning: Spoilers
TBBT used to be one of my favorite shows on TV in the last few years, the show's first 5 seasons were really funny, somehow since season 6 the show started to get worse each episode, the characters were losing what made them once great, the writing wasn't as sharp as it used to be, the show changed from a really funny and smart comedy to a boring dramedy, and the show kept getting even worse, seasons 7 and 8 were even worse than 6, the characters lose all of their funny traits. Even the girls are becoming more annoying, Amy is not funny as she used to be in seasons 4 and 5, she just complains all the time now, Bernadette became unbearable. That's enough for me, I gave up this show, I don't think writers can recover what made the show once great. I give the overall rating a 5, these five points are because of funny first five seasons, new seasons would probably get a 0 from me.
