A Waste of Time, Talent and Money
5 April 2016
This is a piece of garbage, created by a mental midget, which is typical of the garbage that the weirdies in Hollywood find so appealing.. It is racist, discriminatory, lame, drawn out and filled with the "manure" that the Hollywood lamebrains find so endearing.... Having read the reviews of some others, I can only say that they must have been paid to write the reviews, or they were a part of the production of this waste of time... The only good part of the movie was the violence.... If all cast members had been killed in the first 5 minutes, the next 3 hours could have been better spent watching their bodies decompose..

More boring than watching paint dry!!
16 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Another touchy/feely movie from people who are neither touchy or feely!! These people that sit in their ivory towers and dream up GREAT movies re things they know nothing about, having never done anything to help with the problem and never having experienced what they attempt to depict on film are nothing more than leeches, sucking the "blood" (money) from those who pay to watch garbage on film and laughing all the way to the bank. Nothing in this movie is representative of homeless people.. A prime example is having Gere guzzle down a bottle of booze, non-stop, and then walk over sober as he continues on his merry way.. Still, the elitist among us want to see this as some truly revealing expose on the plight of the homeless. This has to be the most boring film I've ever watched.. Period.

Spoiler?? I hope so
17 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
What could have been a good movie, though not original in any way, was smeared by the use of words and visual images having to do with bodily functions to include eliminations. Anyone who thinks that "sickeningly" gross is humorous does not have much of a life. The actors involved apparently needed the work and they sold out by not demanding that the script be cleaned up and that the humor of various situations be at least presented in a less juvenile, street punk, manner. As for the plot, it could have been expanded on, without the non-sensical scenes that were apparently added to make an hour and fifteen minute movie last for one hour and 46 minutes. Movie makers have become filth oriented and seem satisfied to make films that will be easy forgotten, even though the bad taste will be with the viewer for some time to come. There just are not any movies being made today, by the current morons that one will want to view again.. Take the money and run boys and girls and forget about true entertainment...

Gigantic (2008)

Wasted time and effort
19 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes a movie comes along that makes the worst movie I've ever seen previously seem to have been not so bad. Gigantic is one of those movies. Lousy acting, lousy dialog, lousy plot, stupid throughout, with no rhyme, or reason. I've heard that if we were to put a hundred monkeys in a room full of typewriters, that they would eventually produce a screen play. Too bad that the folks behind this piece of dung did not use more monkeys. While it is obvious that the current crowd in the film-making business are attempting to excel in garbage and foist if off on the general public as art, it is equally obvious that nobody with half a brain can find even one redeeming quality in this movie... (Except for those who produced it who have sold it to the rental for big bucks and will receive praises from other film-making idiots who think that praising garbage is the thing to do. th vomiting in the film pretty much describes my feelings about Gigantic! Aaarrgghhh!!!

Waste of time and effort
19 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Another attempt by foreigners to pass off a piece of garbage as art and rip-off the American public with long, drawn out, boring, poorly shot, out of focus, rambling shots (to make the movie longer and more boring) in an attempt to present some psycho babble that reminds one the worst possible movies made in the 50's.. (Back then there were A movies, B movies, and garbage.. If the garbage movies were "C", then this movie would have had a classification all its own... "D" or less. It is just really stupid and anyone who can watch it all the way thru is into punishing themselves for being stupid enough to watch it in the first place...

Magnolia (1999)

Not entertaining.
14 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I often see movies for the first time that leave me wondering "WTF"? And I sometimes wonder if it is me or the film itself. For this reason I often view the movie again, and sometimes again, to determine if I did not get it, or there is nothing to get. Magnolia is one of those movies. After three viewings and much thought, I've finally reached the conclusion that despite all the talent involved and the money spent to make the movie,it is nothing more than a piece of garbage created by a sick mind, for sick people, which serves no real purpose, to include the purpose of entertainment. There is no excitement, no revelations, no redeeming social value, etc. The biggest "draw" for this movie is to try to figure out "what moron envisioned this, or that scene", "why the idiot did not really tie anything together, was unable to actually develop the characters, or actually say anything." While the movie may well "represent" the miscreant's who make movies (those in front of and behind the camera)it does nothing else, goes nowhere, says nothing, is not entertaining and is 100% boring 90% of the time, and only 95% boring the other 10%. The attempt to spice it up with an extensive amount of profanity didn't help at all. It is a sick movie, by sick people, for sick people, and one can only be thankful that it lost a lot of money and the morons will not make another like it...

Boring
7 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
George Clooney, shame on you for attempting to portray yourself as a serious actor.

The scene "going down" on a working prostitute, who had turned x number of tricks that day was particularly disgusting. George Clooney, shame on you for attempting to portray yourself as a serious actor.

The long drawn out scenes of "expressions" only served to punish the viewer even more for believing Clooney could make a decent movie.George Clooney, shame on you for attempting to portray yourself as a serious actor. ETC..

The only thing that was of interest in the entire movie was the nude scenes showing the prostitute. But she was the only thing worthwhile in the movie..

Gangbanger thriller
7 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is an insult to all Americans of Mexican descent and all decent Texans as well. Steve Segal, with his badly fitted wig, corset and draped clothing looks like a poor imitation of Elvis just prior to his death. Robert DeNiro, bless his NY heart, wasted his talent here. Great to see all the drug addict actresses taking their clothes off, but it wasn't enough to save the movie. If this movie appeals to anyone it will be the gang-bangers, Mexican criminals, drug dealers and other morons. Poorly written, lots of stolen lines, with attacks on religion thrown in for no obvious reasons. It is totally unbelievable that anyone who saw the movie really liked the it, or that anyone involved in making it, has any pride in the final cut. This has to be a straight to rental movie and despite all the really bad movies that take this route, this one is right there with the worst of them. Would have gotten a 2 out of 10, except for the "attack of the killer cars" in the final scenes. That's when the movie turned from a waste of film to a ridiculous piece of dog doo doo...

Should have a warning on the box
22 November 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I'm really tired of Hollywood promoting alternate life styles and not having the decency to at least label the "product" for what it is... I don't give a darn how other people live, or what they do, but I damned sure do not like to spend my money to rent a movie, to find out that it is something that I personally have no intention of watching, and no interest in... I don't go around banging the drum re being straight, and I do not have any intention of watching movies of who are not. For the politically correct crowd, let me add this "It has nothing to do with fear,it has to do with my belief that some things should not be shoved down the throats of the public, not shouted about from the rooftops... Or the mountains.. Okay, I'll say it.. I found the movie to be disgusting..

The Road (I) (2009)
More Hollywood Garbage
5 June 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The viewer gets screwed twice with another take the money and run movie that throws a few "big name" actors into a poorly written script and proceeds to go downhill from scene one. (Screwed by paying to see the movie and screwed by having to suffer through it, hoping to see something develop that shows that someone involved had some little bit of pride in their work.) It appears that the idiots in Hollywood are not interested in producing anything that resembles a good movie, or that they take great pleasure in seeing just how many of we morons will throw our money away, and/or what few idiots will rave about a movie that has no redeeming qualities. I thought "The Other Daughter" was about as low as any movie could go, but "The Road" succeeded in making "The Other Daughter" appear to be better than it was... What a waste? While the PR folks are busy raving about this movie and those who are making big bucks screwing over the movie goers are hitting us with all kinds of rave reviews, we can only sit in disgust watching garbage like this.

More Hollywood Garbage
5 June 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I do not understand why IMDb list positive reviews first when earlier reviews are much more accurate. This movie is a prime example of the almost total lack of creativity in Hollywood, their take the money and run attitude, etc. It is just dumb to say the least, has no real beginning and absolutely no ending. It has no redeeming qualities unless the viewer is some die hard fan of Kevin Costner and is willing to sit thru a long boring film just to see Costner in action... However he does do action, or acting, in this one.... My sister who is a die hard Costner fan saw the movie and later asked me "Why did he allow himself to get involved with such a dumb movie?" Nobody can tell me that they truly liked it, and only those on the payroll will have anything positive to say about it...

Crybaby seeks revenge for bad guy killing his wife
4 March 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The "hero" of this movie has no redeeming qualities! Though bent on revenge, he has to crybaby breakdowns, then becomes "tough" shoveling dirt on a highway construction job (those guys don't look tough to me) and then comes up with a crazy plan to bury the bad guy in a hole in the highway. Luckily for him, no cars come by after the initial three that appear right after Dolan's Cadillac is driven into the hole. The hero then tries to bury the car with one load of dirt, that he shovels in by hand, rather than using the front loader that he has available. An effort is made to make him appear to be "crazed" but all the movie does is make him look stupid. Slater on the other hand plays the same character he played in "Pursued". It is unlikely that anyone of Oriental heritage will enjoy the racist crap he has to say about them. Nothing here for those who like good movies, or even those that can accept so-so movies...

too much of a good thing
4 March 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is based on the old old old prediction that California is going to fall into the ocean (not much of a loss if that happens!) but expands to the WORLD. I love special effects in movies, but there is also too much of a good thing. If half the special effects were edited out, reducing the movie by an hour, or more less, (from 158 minutes down to say 90 minutes) the movie might not turn into a marathon of boredom. It just goes on and on and on... and on and on and on and on.. I don't mind wasting my time watching a bad movie, if it is acknowledged as a bad movie, but some folks in Hollywood must think this is a good movie, or it is just another grab the money and run production that seems to the norm.. So many good actors in such a bad movie... it is a shame!

Cheap knockoff off a great movie....
31 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
A spoiler is a comment that "spoils" the end of a movie? Well, I guess that when there is a cheap, boring, idiotic movie made for pennies, then someone needs to be honest about it and SPOIL it. I find it hard to believe that anyone is gullible enough to believe this garbage anyhow, but even worse is those who think it is ORIGINAL. It is nothing more than a poor remake of a great movie (The Entity - 1981) with Barbara Hershey, that actually showed some creativity, had a believable script and was more than a "one thought" endeavor. That there are enough people willing to waste their money to sit through a movie like this will never cease to amaze me. The only good part of the movie was when the broad was dragged down the hall screaming.. the bad part about that is that she came back on camera to finish the movie. Movie goers beware... you have been duped.... AGAIN..

Inglourious Basterds waste of time film and my money
20 December 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Too many morons will believe this is a factual film and those idiots will pass it on as such. It is an insult to the veterans of WWII, and an insult to the intelligence of film goers. The trailer for the film is a piece of misleading garbage that has little to do with the film, and the group portrayed in the trailer should have been called "The Inglourious Idiots". Added to all the above is the fact that too many Hollywood drug addicts think that having most of the film in a foreign language makes it a better film. That just proves that much of the Hollywood crowd is a bunch of snobbish, self-important, elitist, and truly uncreative a**es that do not know how to make a good film. I have never been more disappointed in a film.

The high point of the movie is Brad Pitt (Angelina Jolie's live-in). His pitiful imitation of the Billy Bob Thornton (One of Angelina's many former squeezes)character in "Slingblade" was hilarious. The attempt to copy Billy Bob is soooooo bad that Pitt should be at the top of the list for that "Rotten Tomato" award..

Sheesh, when will film makers try to actually make a good film again. Of the last 100 I've watched, there have been two I'd like to see again. This one is 101 on the list...

I hope there is enough spoilers to stop anyone from watching it
3 September 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is the sorriest piece of garbage, that I've ever watched, and it should be trashed, because it is nothing but trash.. A waste of film on a bunch of apparently no-talent bums who wallow in the filth of their own minds. The movie promotes drug dealing bisexual liaisons (male and female), pedophile no talent rock stars, sadistic homosexuals that want to use and abuse (kill?) a kidnapped 9 year old boy. Incidentally the kid was kidnapped (in the movie) by what was once a talented actor - though he was always weird.. The "main" character is just a horny old jerk that can't figure out what he wants to be, his wife plays her usual whinyass loser role, their son is just.... Aw hell, this movie is so bad that it does not deserve a lot of words... IT SUCKS should suffice.

More Hollywood garbage
3 September 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I did not think that Julia Roberts could, or would, make a bad movie.. One would think that a STAR owes it to his/her fans to at least provide a mediocre movie (or better).. but this is nothing more than a "Show me the Money" and I'll take on any role.. and screw the fans!" It will be a long time before I will attempt to see one of her movies. At least the guy (whatever his name is) seemed to be attempting to make it work, but it was a waste of time, and he does not have the talent to carry a movie by himself... It is apparent from the movies being made today that talent is disappearing in Hollywood (or whatever other garbage dumps are used to make movies)... that the movie makers of today want to rush thru making a "nothing" movie, sell the rights to some video rental outfit, take their money and go back to LA to engage in their "holier than the rest of us" lifestyle.. You know the rich and famous lifestyle while telling us that we need to conserve... don't see this movie it is a waste of time. By the way, in the movie they get screwed out of the money by the company they are trying to steal from in the first place..

Surveillance (I) (2008)

Lousy movie at premium prices
23 August 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I do not know what today's movie goers expect, but after 68 years of movie watching.. (Well maybe I didn't watch many movies in the first 9 - 10 years, so make that 58 years of movie watching) I expect to be entertained, not bored to tears, assaulted by continuous profanity (every other word) and idiotic scenes of violence that are presented in with no other purpose in mind but to show blood splattering and body parts being mangled. Surveillance is one of those movies that was made by people who have NO imagination, little if any talent, a total inability to tie scenes together and an unreasonable trait of letting a scene go on and on, long after the purpose for it has elapsed. That anyone would ever think that this was a worthwhile movie, when it is nothing more that Hollywood garbage is beyond me. As a combat veteran I have seen violence, blood and gore, in many forms, and movies like We were soldiers is about as violent as a movie can get, but it has redeeming value. Surveillance must have been dreamed up by persons in a drug induced stupor, with no writing ability, no directorial training, no experience in film editing, and a total lack of contact with reality. Just a stupid movie of two serial killers posing as FBI agents, setting up a scenario to kill some stupid foul mouth cops, etc.. A high priced piece of garbage that only an idiot could like...

Expectedly Good Movie
23 August 2009
After over a half century of movie watching, I don't find many that are worth the plastic they are recorded on... and when this one was brought into my house, I figured that it was another piece of Hollywood garbage thrown together to make a few bucks and I actually said "I can't believe you expect me to watch that High School Musical guy!" I was happily swayed, as the movie was most entertaining, had great dialogue, showed that someone had a sense of humor, as well as a sense of decency, all tied together with a talented cast. Amazing!! Simply Amazing! I would recommend it to others from 13 to as old as the hills. Zac whathisname is as good as Michael Fox ever was, and that is meant as a high compliment... Matthew Perry is always good... Compared to most of the junk that goes to DVD, this one should become a classic! I am impressed.. and that does not happen often.

A Bright Shining Lie (1998 TV Movie)

But Who Are the Liars???
29 January 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Who benefits from attempts to tarnish the US Military, Political leaders, American allies and America's need to BE involved in keeping the world safe from those who would destroy us. Could it be the idiot journalists that were there, who benefited, even though they never left the "parties" of Saigon except to visit secure areas? Journalist that provided the stories that the "media" wanted. Could it be the media that benefited, and if so, what was their motive? Could it be the same motive they have today which is to destroy the image of this country all over the world. Could it be the ringleaders of the Peace movements who were nothing more doped up morons who spent much of their time seducing underage girls, getting high and raving regarding things they knew nothing about. Could it be the educational "communities' which have long been a hot bed of radicals (read that those with communists leanings? There are a lot of foreign "professors" who have been planted in American universities, as well as American born morons, who constantly "preach" against America, against God, against family values, patriotism and all the things that made America what was once upon a time. All the above and all anti-American, anti-military, anti-freedom morons, benefit greatly from their attempts to destroy a country that allows EVEN the, most simple minded, inexperienced and do nothing scum of the earth to express the most uninformed opinions.

I enjoyed the movie, because it had just enough fact to show that there was a war going on. However the Bright Shining Lie is the one told by the one who wrote the book, the ones who made the movie and those who seem so eager to make John Paul Vann look like a slime ball by presenting unproven and unwarranted "episodes" of his sexual activities and presenting him as an arrogant asshole. However if one were to check those who attended his funeral, among them were some of the war's most outspoken critics and they must have thought that John Paul Vann deserved a little respect. All things considered the movie is one continuous lie, tied together with disguised bits and pieces of factual information and combat footage. The simple minded will watch it, believe it and think that's the way it was. That's a shame!!

Most Dumb Movie of the Year Award
21 November 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Considering the talents of Stiller, Black and Downey, I thought maybe this would be a movie I'd enjoy. Instead it starts off with the lowest form of early Eddie Murphy type vulgarity and proceeds downhill from there. Too many people seem to think that the use of vulgar, offensive and totally unnecessary words and phrases, is humorous, simply because they themselves get off on being morons. Downey plays the role of a black soldier to perfection, but unfortunately he plays it at the lowest level of morality, and almost reduces himself to the level of the other two scumbags, who apparently think they are above the laws of common decency. The people who allowed this movie to be made should be made aware that not all movie goers are lowlife morons of questionable character who find gutter humor attractive. This piece of trash is an insult to the paying customer! It doesn't' matter what the Stiller, Black and Downey PR people write as "reviews" of this movie, it is a piece of garbage from people who have no respect for themselves or for those who paid to see the movie, expecting entertainment, not another piece of nauseating garbage. Disgusting Award is hereby presented to...

Hair (1979)
Stupidity in America
20 November 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Forty years ago I joined with thousands of America's finest young men. Men of all races, colors and creeds. We went off to fight a war against tyranny, to make the world a better place to live. Today I rented the movie "HAIR", hoping that 40 years later it would give some insight into those who did not go to war, believing that 40 years later, I might better understand who and what they were. After watching the movie I've decided that Vietnam veterans "failed" on their return home. We should have come back and destroyed the miserable jerks.. the drug ridden, sexually mis-oriented, know nothing intellectuals who knew nothing. They prostituted their women, themselves, this country and all that it stood for. They destroyed the morales of America, they put their disgusting self pleasures before God and Country and crapped on all that had made America great, in their effort to destroy what millions had died to create. I think the understanding that I got by watching this movie 40 years later is that those creeps are the teachers and politicians of today. No wonder America is in a downward spiral.. God help us all.

Hollywood publicists at work
23 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I was led to comment after reading someone's comment re how "The Mooch" was his favorite song when he was 8 years old and using the song in the movie "The Cotton Club" made it a great movie. I knew of that song when I was 8 also.. and it is not "The Mooch".. It is "Minnie the Moocher"... a song about a loose women, whose drug addicted pimp introduces her to a wayward life style, leading to her becoming a well kept mistress. The song is about a cheap ho that would do anything for a buck and the lowlifes she associated with.

That brings me to "The Cotton Club" comments. I saw the movie and it is nothing more than a movie about badass gangstas, involved in drugs, prostitution, murder, etc. While it probably fits the life styles of the people it portrays, it is about lowlifes, with some jazz thrown in to soften the blow. (pun intended) Having read all the comments made by others, my feeling is that Hollywood PR folks must have burned a lot of midnight oil to write all the GLOWING reviews on "The Cotton Club" which was nothing more than a glamorized movie about people I would not associate with, if I wanted to live very long.

Wasting film and talent
22 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I like Uma. She will one day regret making this movie. While some may say that this movie is the result of an artistic mind, it will not be heard from anyone I know who saw the movie. It was obvious from the slow panning at the beginning and became worse as it progressed. Jerking the viewer around with repeated "clips" of the same scenes only made the movie longer and more boring. Developing a storyline and then deleting it for no obvious reason is the work of one with no vision. A good movie has a beginning, a middle and an end. This movie had a very slooooooow beginning, a confused and muddled middle and "the end" did not complete the movie. I've watched a lot of bad movies, hoping that they produce something that I might want to watch again. I have watched some movies that succeeded in this. But "The Life Before Her Eyes" is a movie that I will warn people about and advise them waste their money on something else. This is a piece of junk created by those who have no creative ability... JUNK!

Vietnam brush paints Iraqi US Army veterans
25 April 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Hurray for Hollywood. The same (or at least same type) anti-war, pseudo intellectual morons who attempted to BRAND Vietnam veterans with the Hollywood lies. The same smears, from those who have never served their country, in an attempt to discredit the only heroes we have left, the American Serviceman.

Facts exist, studies have been made, papers have been written, and the facts are in re those who served in Vietnam compared to study groups comprised of those who served in the military, but not in Vietnam and groups of "civilians" that found ways to avoid military service. The Vietnam vet is better adjusted, less mental illness, healthier, wealthier, more productive, and less likely to act like a total butt wipe than the latter groups. The information is available to those that care to know the facts rather than to follow the California nutcases. When studies are made re the veterans of the Middle East and/or Afghanistan, the result will probably be the same.

The American fighting men and women are not dopers, drunks, sadistic baby killing, dog drowning, prisoner torturing retards. No doubt some few go over the line. However if anyone has a question about that, who has never served anything but their own self-interest. they have not earned the right to either ask the question and do not deserve an answer.

Tommy Lee Jones as the grieving father (not an retired officer by the way.. he played a retired sergeant)is as always EXCELLENT... Susan Sarandon as always is not believable... and Charlize Theron is Terrific, as always.. Those playing the friends of Jones's deceased son are typical smarmy Hollywood types, trying to look like soldiers but would probably be better cast in movies like Broke Back Mountain.. I was impressed with Francis Fisher's parts.. no silicon there.

Anyway the movies overall is pretty good, but then some halfwit has to come up with idea of the flying the US flag upside down to show what they think of this country...That ticked me off..

You know these are the same people that live in 30,000 square foot houses with a garage full of gas guzzling cars, a few airplanes, and helicopters, tour buses, Olympic size pools, who think nothing of spending $1000 bucks for a meal they do not eat... and then campaign to get the poor smucks who make %50,000 or less a year to conserve, etc.

The Hollywood morons... they are so out of touch with reality that it is disgusting.... Maybe McCarthy was right and they are all Un-American, communist illegitimate sons of......... well, you know.
