A few good cast members
25 January 2023
I only heard of this series when researching Tom Mison. I watched the entire 3 seasons hoping it would meet up to all the reviews gushing over it. Jason Momoa is such an excellent actor, but even he couldn't save the series that literally had me watching the 2nd half of season 2 and all of season 3 in fast forward. The script, storyline and "logic" was awful. Too many stupid af decisions by the characters made it pretty much intolerable. And it took way too long for "Queen Kane" to be killed, but showed that dumb logic of people of privilege getting away with everything. Sadly they do, but not for much longer in real life. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone I liked.

Very well made and thought out film
24 July 2022
You know you've got a great film when there are bots? Trolls? Paid trashers? (take your pick) that try to destroy it so no one will want to even go see it. Discernment is key in everything these days. Read the reviews but take notice...very highs and very lows are always a dead giveaway that someone wants the film to fail...or the reverse...someone wants a crappy film to succeed. This film is well made, and the acting is spot on for the situation. Who needs to have constant gore in order to enjoy a film? Normally it's an adrenaline junkie who gets high on more than adrenaline.

If you want to watch a high quality, well acted and highly believable film, this one should be on the top of your list! Finally, a film that's NOT pish! A film that doesn't have to rely on CGI or anything else but pure, strong acting skills. Well done! Don't pass this film up if you enjoy high quality acting and no shaking camera until you want to puke scenes. Highly recommended viewing for the discerning film goer.

All these years later and it still turns my stomach
14 July 2022
I was a very young 14 when this movie came out and I first watched it. The actions of the white slave owners - both husband and wife - was so appalling to me that it moulded how I treated others to this day. I'd already been colour-blind...was raised to recognise the soul within the person...so that didn't change. What changed was the way I viewed other white people - being a white-skinned person, myself. I spent my life observing the actions of people to one another and it's still heart-breaking to see b/c there has been a resurgence of overall hatred of one another rather than simply of one's colour. But that ending...it has been emblazoned on my memory for all time. That horror will never leave me. I hope people will learn that Love is the key and stop allowing hatred to rule their actions.

A movie with soul
20 May 2022
It's been a very long time since a movie made me cry so hard. Some people will give their very lives to save the ones they love, I know because I've done it myself. I was revived and lived to fight another day but the memories never leave you. Incidents like the one that happened in this film affect an entire circle of people. Put yourself in each person's shoes and live their experience. That's what this film does and that's why it earned a 10. Extremely well thought out and so true to reality for so many people.

Superb acting but rubbish cinematography
29 April 2022
This film would have gotten a solid 10 from me - the acting was that good. But the film, itself, was completely destroyed by the stupidly jerky filming. Whoever was the complete moron that came up with the idea to shake the camera around needs to have their throats punched so hard that recovery is futile.

Back in the day films were quality made - not so much any more. The days of making a film that people could watch without leaving the viewer in jeopardy of having a seizure induced by shakiness seems to be lost forever. So, in my opinion, it doesn't matter how great the actors are, if the cinematography is rubbish then the film is a lost cause.

If more people took this stance this nonsensical way of filming would stop. Until it stops, I will always rate the film according to how it is actually filmed and not solely based on the actors, themselves. Maybe the actors would speak up as well. Too bad there isn't a survey to be taken to show how many people are no longer able to watch and enjoy films now because of this idiological way of filming. I, for one, will not subject myself to the possibility of having a seizure induced because of it. I hope others will follow suit.

Excellent depiction of the real world
15 February 2022
The actors and storyline were in excellent order. Here is my input on the whys of things...I wonder how many people would change everything in this world if they understood the simple fact that cancer is a created illness and the cures have all been withheld from the world because the creators of the dis-ease control everything and they love, nay thrive, on seeing the results of the carnage they reap? Yet we are called madmen, delusional and whatever other words they can dream up to shift the focus off their guilt of worldwide murder of millions, if not billions, over the years onto those who dare to expose the truth of it all. The film is brilliant. It's most likely paid for by the very ilk who murder those who create cures for the myriad illnesses these monsters create. Why? Because they literally thrive on the negative energy they create through their devastation. As you reap, so shall you sow. One day soon the people of the world will wake up to their tyranny and they will be no more. Until then, the people of the world will continue to suffer at their hands. It will never stop until the people of the world make it stop.

A Beautiful Story
10 January 2022
How nice would it be to be a young female traveling alone in a country she has never been to before and be safe? That, all on it's own, is a fantasy these days. Each story was so interesting, and in each story you see a bit more of Brooke revealing her true self. It's in the last story where we see her real reason for her visit to this small island. We each are people seeing the world through our own eyes, with our own filters and perspective. I didn't see a romantic scenario in her friendship with Pierre. I saw a young, vulnerable woman seeking solace, protection, safety and acceptance through a stranger, even before she revealed her true reason for being there. Very well acted for the entire cast. The last story even brought a tear to my eyes. I'm glad that I stumbled upon this film. Although my own life is filled with moments of great regrets, I have no regrets in watching it. <3.

Mind-bending rubbish!
31 October 2020
I watched the original series as a preteen and into my teenage years. But Dr. Smith put me off so badly that I couldn't stomach it any longer. It took me several years before that happened though. With this Dr. Smith, I was put off immediately and only made it to episode 5 before deciding that I'm sick to death of my mind being programmed to accept this kind of garbage as entertainment. It's a waste of time. Anyone with good thinking skills will find their brains screaming for relief. The fact that shows like this are constantly being pushed on the public at large only goes to show that these things are called "programs" for a reason. I opt-out of allowing my mind to be programmed.

One of the most miserable movies I've ever seen in my life!
27 August 2020
The acting was excellent, don't get me wrong, but the movie, itself, was as horrible as they come. I say that b/c we live in a very sick world. It's always been evil and demented, but it was well hidden from view and understanding. This film could be a documentary, it's that full on realistic. This nightmare we are all living in right now can only be one thing - true hell - the actual place. Evil has been running this world for thousands of years is my best guess and nearly all of the facets of this world - world leaders, world groups pretending they care about the people inhabiting this place, the medical and pharmaceutical mafia, the murderers poisoning our food, air, water, body products and even the clothes we wear...the entire "We care about you" scenario...it's 100% evil and the billions of people who are loving, kind, caring and "human" have been getting crushed under the boot of this evil all this time. This crap is never going to end unless the billions rise up and end these monsters once and for all. WE could destroy them ALL in no time...if everyone would just man up, join as one, and get the job done. Otherwise, it's game over for us.

An absolutely rubbish film!
2 March 2020
In a day and age where pedophilia reigns and disrespect is everywhere, it's no surprise that a film that has very young children being disrespectful and cursing is given such a high rating. It's time to throw away the telly and keep our children protected from the very real monsters that seem to be everywhere now. What a pity.

A true gem of a film
14 February 2019
After watching this film I decided to look it up on IMDb to read the reviews. I rarely write reviews, but the level of negativity thrown at it during the initial preview back in 2007 made me decide to add my 2 pence. Firstly, there was nothing religious in it at all except for a mention of a church near the very end. Secondly, how refreshing to watch an entire film without having to suffer through the extremely unnecessary gratuitous sex scenes. Something the entire family can watch without stressing out over vulgar additions that normally ruin a film in the first place. So if you're looking to watch a film that is well written, well acted and not filled with useless rubbish, this is one you will really enjoy. I'd happily watch it again.

Seriously?
11 February 2019
This movie is a waste of 2 hours of life. The acting is pathetic and the storyline is ridiculous. I felt my brain cells begging me to stop killing them. I would give it a negative 10 if I could. Who the heck is stupid enough to drop money making something so moronic is beyond me.

Excellent story and acting
15 November 2017
This film was beautifully written and well acted. I normally don't leave reviews but I saw that Lesley Manville complained about Susan Boyle being chosen for a role as she felt she could only sing and not act, so I felt compelled to put in my own opinion.

First of all, Ms. Boyle has a truly angelic voice. But she thoroughly surprised me by being a very good actress who is a pure natural in this film. She speaks and acts as if this is a real life situation and pulls the viewer into the film. She is not trying to gain accolades or steal the screen from anyone...she is simply doing her job. And what a wonderful job she did, especially for it being her very first time! What a very humble woman she is, indeed. Perhaps Lesley Manville could use a lesson or two in manners and humility?

Having said that, all in all, this film is a breath of fresh air compared to all of the rubbish being shown these days. Your children could watch this and not leave you worrying about nudity, violence or foul language. It opens up all sorts of possibilities for children to ask genuine questions about their own beliefs and for adults to ponder things such as faith, hope and...dare we even think it?...Miracles!

I give it 10 stars b/c ALL the actors did a wonderful job at pulling the viewer into the story and holding our attention in a very comfortable way. The world needs more films like this that are clean and refreshing. Well done everyone! And thank you!

Pure Rubbish
10 September 2017
I've watched about 200 of these shows over the last 7 years and, from this moment on, will never watch it again. They show people who say they have a certain budget to spend on properties. They are shown properties within their budgets and meet nearly, if not all, of their requirements. The properties are really lovely and many times the people say they love them. The kicker is when they put in an offer it's so ridiculously low that 99% of the time no one ever actually purchases! It seems to me a setup from the very start. I've seen only 4 purchases out of 200+ programs watched. After awhile I kept watching just to see if my suspicions are right...either "British" people are too arrogant or this entire thing is nothing but staged to get viewers. It seems more a setup although England is, admittedly, full of some very arrogant people. The "cheeky offers" are just laughable and they get denied every time...except once. So, to me, this show is 100% a waste of time. If you watch it for any reason at all, the properties and views are absolutely wonderful. You will get some great ideas for yourself. Otherwise, it's not worth watching.
