Favorite Chick Flicks for this Guy

"The White people are melting here!" My wife and I have watched this movie so many times that I can't count them. I've put it on countless times, too. I'm white. She's Hispanic. We've lived in Summerlin (Las Vegas) and New York City. The movie just resonates in some culturally and geographically wonderful ways. No other movie comes close to being as watched and wonderful. It never gets old.

"Do we know ... Mo?" The movie is fun and easy to like. The leads look like they just had too much fun making this movie. The casting is great and the plot is just sweet, silly fun. "So I can kiss you any time I want" and so many other nice lines make this a very re-watchable and memorable movie.

Bridget Jones is my favorite character in Chick Flick world. I love the way she does a million things that "should" turn off men but they just love her more despite ... or maybe because ... of her actions. How many times can she make a fool of herself in front of her man's colleagues? Then the lesbian twist? Too funny.

I hesitated about putting this on my Chick Flick list but I found it on some others, so, hey, why not? This is just great comedy all around. I usually don't like Bernie Mac or Ashton Kutcher. The chemistry between them in this movie is wicked good. Zoe Saldana and Judith Scott nicely compliment the leading men.

Get out the popcorn and just enjoy. I love the way the plot builds and demonstrates that, in the end, the one who is considered the worst person is probably the best. Nice story and good casting.

New York meets Alaska. What more do we need to know? The leads in this one are great together.

Okay, this one totally screams out to my male hormones: "Get out of the room!" However, there is something so sweet about the romance that I find myself wanting to only eat the brown M&Ms. Put it on again.

This is one of the great ones. It is a sweet, sad and uplifting story.

This is a great professional ugly duckling story. It's always fun to see the underdog win!

Okay, he kinda creeps me out. But J-Lo and her maid colleagues carry the movie. It is really cute. Yeah, I'm a grown man and I said it.

This movie is everything I don't like wrapped into one! So, I find that I love it. It is fun to watch with my wife, with the kids or all alone. It helps that some of it was filmed in my old offices -- nice to see some old haunts.

It always makes me feel nervous. But then it finally resolves. Am I supposed to cheer? Well, I do!

It is a nice movie to watch when in the right mood. Sometimes I can't watch it. Other times, I'm pulled in. When I'm pulled in, it's more than good enough to make it on my top Chick Flicks list.

I just like the casting and flow of the movie. It works nicely in a very predictable story.

It keeps me captivated.

Yeah, it could be called a dumb cheerleader movie. I grew up around cheerleaders, so this just feels right. I like the competition, the attitude and the casting (Kirsten Dunst & Gabrielle Union carry a good vibe). Well done.

Nice story. I didn't like it the first time around. Now it is one of my favorites. Maybe I'm just getting soft in my old age.

Okay, this came out while I was in high school. I remember catching it on a date and being thoroughly embarrassed about the prostitution angle. I loved it. My date loved it. I've been a Julia Roberts fan ever since.

As a lawyer, I really dig the plot. The over-the-top story is just good fun.

Adam and Drew: They just know how to make you smile.

I think this is actually Steve Martin's best movie. I think he is brilliant. The story isn't bad either.

Solid flick for a love story. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks really put on a good encore performance together.

Of course it is a ridiculous story. That is why it is so good.

I really don't like this movie intellectually but I want to watch it again. And again. Go figure.

I always tell myself I don't like this movie because I didn't like it when it came out (I was still a teenager). I rediscovered it in my 40s and I find the story compelling and nice to watch.

I had to do one Patrick movie, just because. And it wasn't going to be Dirty Dancing! I actually like a lot of this move. It gets a bit weird but it is emotionally compelling.
