1. Rocket League (2015 Video Game)

E | Action, Sci-Fi, Sport

A physics-based online game where players engage in soccer-type matches using rocket powered, customizable cars.

Directors: Thomas Silloway, Scott Rudi

Votes: 4,873

A near perfect gameplay experience. That is, at what it is and does it can't be done any better.

3. Bloodborne (2015 Video Game)

M | Action, Adventure, Fantasy

A hunter awakens in the plagued lands of Yharnam, where the denizens have succumb to beast hood, in an attempt to learn the truth and how to end the plague, unbeknownst of the true horror lurking within the city.

Director: Hidetaka Miyazaki | Stars: Daniel Fine, Joe Sims, William Vanderpuye, Andrew Tiernan

Votes: 7,558

A challenging game, not one that is always enjoyable. I hate grinding for its own sake but there's something cathartic about it in this game. It feels of the whole. It's a game that kept me coming back even when it wasn't perfect or always enjoyable.

4. Splatoon (2015 Video Game)

E10+ | Action, Adventure, Fantasy

Splatter enemies and claim your turf as ink-spraying, squid-like Inklings in Nintendo's ultimate messfest.

Directors: Yusuke Amano, Tsubasa Sakaguchi | Stars: Mari Kikuma, Yuki Kudara, Yuki Tsuji, Mahito Yokota

Votes: 628

Really really fun, though sometimes you wonder if the gameplay always adds up to a perfect experience. I probably didn't spend quite enough time with it.

5. Yoshi's Woolly World (2015 Video Game)

E | Action, Adventure

On Craft island, the evil Magikoopa Kamek turns nearly all the Yoshis into bundles of yarn for his master Baby Bowser. However, two Yoshis manage to survive, and they set off to pursue Kamek and rescue their woolly friends.

Director: Atsushi Kono | Stars: Atsushi Masaki, Caety Sagoian, Kazumi Totaka

Votes: 257

As far as simplistic 2D platforming yarn games go, this one is tops. It's really fun, even if it's way too easy and doesn't offer much that's new.

6. Until Dawn (2015 Video Game)

M | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

A group of teenagers spend the weekend in a ski lodge on the anniversary of their friends' disappearance, unaware that they are not alone.

Director: Will Byles | Stars: Hayden Panettiere, Peter Stormare, Rami Malek, Brett Dalton

Votes: 17,141

A great experience and concept, so-so execution at times. The acting ranges from good to bad, and same goes for the story. Some of the "gameplay" bits can feel cheap.

7. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015 Video Game)

M | Action, Adventure, Drama

The monster slayer Geralt of Rivia must find his adoptive daughter who is being pursued by the Wild Hunt, and prevent the White Frost from bringing about the end of the world.

Director: Konrad Tomaszkiewicz | Stars: Doug Cockle, Denise Gough, Jo Wyatt, Jaimi Barbakoff

Votes: 33,292

This is a good game, though I question why so many find it great. It's very pretty, absolutely, and it's big (aren't they all these days) but the story is unwieldy, the gameplay average at best and the missions that I did finish, were boring fetch quest wastes of time. Apparently that's what people want. Oh, and a *beep* interface.

8. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (2015 Video Game)

M | Action, Adventure, Horror

Revelations 2 sees the return of Claire Redfield, whom along with the daughter of Barry Burton, Moira Burton, must try to escape off a monster-infested island.

Directors: Yasuhiro Anpo, Koushi Nakanishi, Ken Sakamoto | Stars: Yûko Kaida, Yûsaku Yara, Ayumi Fujimura, Aoi Yûki

Votes: 1,726

This is like average Resident Evil. As if the game just kept being after Code:Veronica. It's more of the same, good and bad, maybe ultimately pointless though. It still doesn't control quite right, not like the classics anyway.

9. Life Is Strange (2015 Video Game)

M | Adventure, Drama, Mystery

An awkward photography student named Max discovers her ability to rewind time, and reunites with her estranged best friend Chloe to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a local girl.

Directors: Raoul Barbet, Michel Koch | Stars: Hannah Telle, Ashly Burch, Nik Shriner, Dani Knights

Votes: 13,782

A good attempt at a purely story driven choose your adventure style game, but the dialogue feels so much like adults writing kids. It's massively cringey. And all the hip cool sci-fi/horror references for these kids *shudder*. But characterizations and overall story are solid

10. Downwell (2015 Video Game)

E | Action

A curious man dons his gunboots and explores a cave infested with monsters galore.

Director: Ojiro Fumoto

Votes: 94

A frustrating and sometimes addictive platformer. I played it on mobile, so the downward gameplay hook sometimes didn't work cause my thumb would get in the way.

11. Madden NFL 16 (2015 Video Game)

E | Sport

Madden 16 is the continuation of the Madden franchise. In this game, you can play as your favorite team, build a team in ultimate team mode, and even play as your very own player!

Stars: Mandell Frazier, Art Kulik, Marcus Natividad, Tony Scarpelos

Votes: 240

This is Madden.

12. Soma (2015 Video Game)

M | Drama, Horror, Mystery

Simon Jarrett finds himself in a mysterious, ravaged facility after seemingly losing consciousness during a new, experimental brain scan which was suggested to him for his brain damage after his car accident.

Stars: Jared Zeus, Nell Mooney, Brian Protheroe, Jennifer Armour

Votes: 2,232

A decent little Bioshock inspired horror shooter adventure game. It's fine but it never hooked me. It felt like the components of other better games but never found a way to rise above them.

13. Fallout 4 (2015 Video Game)

M | Action, Adventure, Drama

In the post-apocalyptic Boston, Massachusetts area, you play as the "Sole Survivor" of Vault 111, recently revived from centuries of forced cryostasis, determined to find your kidnapped son.

Director: Todd Howard | Stars: Brian T. Delaney, Courtenay Taylor, Stephen Russell, Courtney Ford

Votes: 15,226

More of the same. It's big and there's stuff to do. I just don't know why people care anymore. There's only so many nuts and bolts out of old drawers I can grab before I question my very existence if this is what I consider fun, or God forbid, art.

14. Pokémon Shuffle (2015 Video Game)

Get ready for the latest Pokémon puzzle game. Match three or more Pokémon to clear them from the screen and damage the opponent Pokémon. But watch out-your moves are limited, so use them ... See full summary »

Director: Shunsuke Takagi

Votes: 54

Kinda fun. Apparently a ripoff of some other puzzlers. Oh well.
