Twice Born (2012) has many elements and captures the Bosnian War from a foreign perspective exquisitely.
Oppenheimer (2023) could be called a historical war movie, yet seems to be more of a personal biopic and involve more politics than war so I excluded it, although it is excellent and explores the science behind the war.
