The MTV series Teen Wolf – which was loosely inspired by the 1985 comedy film Teen Wolf (watch our Awfully Good video on that movie Here) – wrapped up its six season run back in 2017, and back in January it got a feature film follow-up on the Paramount+ streaming service. (Read our review of Teen Wolf: The Movie at This Link.) Now Paramount+ is hoping that movie is going to rack up multiple Primetime Emmy Awards nominations.
Variety reports that the streaming service has submitted Teen Wolf: The Movie for Emmys consideration in the following categories: Outstanding Television Movie, Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie (Tyler Posey), Directing (Russell Mulcahy), Writing, Prosthetic Makeup and Original Music and Lyrics (“Lemon” by Tyler Posey).
Since Posey was also a producer on the film, Variety notes that these submissions give him three chances to earn an Emmy nod.

Ashley Judd led a cast of what would turn out to be dozens of actresses in accusing Harvey Weinstein of decades of sexual harassment and abuse in The New York Times’ damning and dam-breaking Oct. 5 investigation. That same night saw the premiere at the United Nations of an indie drama she starred in, Trafficked, about the modern international sex trade.

Will Wallace’s thriller about three young women abducted and sold into sex slavery certainly has an authentic feel. As well it should: The screenwriter, Siddharth Kara, is a Harvard professor specializing in the subject who wrote a book that inspired the film. Unfortunately, for all its social relevance and good intentions, Trafficked mainly proves that university professors don’t make the best screenwriters.
As if dutifully checking items off a list, the film’s storyline focuses on three disparate victims from different parts of the world: the Nigerian Mali (Jessica Obilum), a young mother captured while attempting to migrate to Europe; the...

Inspired by real characters from the award-winning book “Sex Trafficking” by Harvard professor Siddharth Kara, Will Wallace’s “Trafficked” follows a trio of intertwining stories about young women forced into the world of human, organ, drug, and gun trafficking. The film focuses on three girls — from America, Nigeria, and India — who, though horrific experiences in the trafficking world, end up as sex slaves in a Texas brothel.

Lionsgate is putting out a horror movie. What's so special about that, right? They're always pumping them out. However, the title of their next flick happens to be The Appearing, and that's how we've justified the headline. Clever, eh? What? No? Screw you!

Luke Perry and Terrence Malick, together at last. The upcoming Red Wing brings the two together, with Perry in a lead role and Malick playing executive producer. The film is directed by Will Wallace, the stepson of the acclaimed auteur filmmaker (and the missing link between Malick and Perry). An adaptation of François le Champi, the novel by 18th century French author George Sand, Red Wing tells of an orphan boy who grows up to drive a wedge between his foster parents. The trailer does capture a little of the Midwestern natural beauty that Malick is known for, and the young boy we see early on can’t help but harken back to The Tree of Life, but the whole thing resembles a direct-to-dvd release far too much for its own good. The performances, the music, the title cards, the presence of Luke Perry – they all make Red Wing look like a piece of country-fried melodrama rather...

Being related to one of Hollywood’s greatest auteurs certainly comes with its privileges, as actor Will Wallace has been seen in his stepfather Terrence Malick’s last three films — and is also set for a part in his upcoming To the Wonder. This is not say Wallace isn’t a hard worker, as the actor/producer/director/writer has had a busy career the last decade-plus, and he’s now prepping for his biggest project thus far.
Penned by Kathleen Orillion, there’s not much known about his next directing effort Red Wing, only that it’s twisty and takes place in a small town in Texas. However, Wallace (pictured right) has wrangled an impressive ensemble for his feature, including Bill Paxton, Luke Perry, Frances Fisher, Joelle Carter, Glen Powell and Breann Johnson. [Variety/THR]

Terrence Malick doesn't stop. With the director is currently at work on four different movies in various stages of production -- "To The Wonder," "The Voyage of Time," "Knight of Cups" and the movie formerly known as "Lawless" -- he's also throwing his enigmatic weight around as a producer. Last month it surfaced that he was behind "Red Wing," which is searching for a writer, and would serve as the directorial debut of Will Wallace, his stepson, who has appeared in numerous Malick-related projects including "The Thin Red Line," "The New World" and "Undertow." Well, another Malick venture is gearing up, and it will roll this fall. And as usual, it's a complete fucking mystery, though there are some details. Orlando movie critic Roger Moore hit up Comic-Con over the weekend and got a chance to chat with Diane Kruger, who was on hand to promote next spring's "The Host,...

Well, if the set pics so far are anything to go by, filming on Terrence Malick's "Knight of Cups" has been absolutely delightful. If there's heavy drama to found in the picture, we haven't seen it yet as Christian Bale has been happily frolicking with Wes Bentley and Natalie Portman in the snaps that have made it online. And now, a few more of Bale and Portman riding in a classic convertible with the wind in their hair have made their way to the interwebs.
While plot details are under wraps, if we were judge this based on the very limited images we've seen thus far, it seems Malick is making a video for the Beach Boys or something. Okay, we're being silly, but all we can do at this point is speculate. However, there is one clue that does emerge from these pics. As you can see below,...

Chicago – Don’t be duped by Joseph Kahn’s insultingly unintelligent trailer for his new Adhd high school slasher/comedy “Detention”. Rather than prematurely blowing his load with the film’s crème de la crème in a two-minute trailer, he’s done the reverse. Kahn – who scraped much of this “indie” film’s $10 million budget from his own pockets – has set up disappointed trailer watchers to discover a hidden gem in his second feature-length film.
Rating: 4.0/5.0
Kahn’s fast-paced, Aaron Sorkin-like “Detention” deserves cult-hit status. Just as “The Social Network” embodies our Facebook culture, this SXSW film-festival favorite rewrites today’s high school movie bible.

Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin are the onscreen equivalent of peaches and cream (or any pleasing combination, actually), but the latest casting on Jason Reitman‘s Labor Day might just be my favorite. As Variety reports, Tom Lipinski (Suits) is the top choice to play a young version of Brolin‘s character — specifically, “Frank Chambers an escaped convict who seeks shelter with a depressed single mom (Winslet) and her young son over a long Labor Day weekend.”
In flashback sequences, we’ll encounter Frank as a young Vietnam veteran who discovers that, twixt his departure and return, the love of his life is “no longer the innocent teenage girl he left behind.”And while I haven’t a clue if Lipinski is actually a decent actor — these sounds like crucial scenes, in the grand emotional scheme of things — the resemblance between the both of them is almost too good to pass up.

At the end of Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace admitted he was shocked how much attention last week's interview with Jon Stewart received. In addition to reiterating his defense of how the interview was edited, Wallace this time also explained why Fox News truly is "fair and balanced" and how the "most misinformed" viewers are likely to be those who watch Stewart's The Daily Show. Will Wallace's parting shot be the last word or will there soon be another chapter in the Stewart/Wallace saga?...

Back Bay Books
I’m almost on page 223. That’s the page that’s supposed to kick this book into hyperdrive. Am I building it up too much? I hope not. But I hear page 223 might cure baldness. And the common cold. And gout. I’m not building it up too much.
It’s been awhile since I posted. I’m reading this book slowly. What’s the point of rushing?
Okay, actually I’ve been feeling so overworked I...

Cracking new series, Gromit . . . stand by for Wallace & Gromit's World of Invention on BBC1 next week
Age: Unknown. Men made of Plasticine are notoriously hard to date, dogs even more so. But they first came to prominence in 1989, while having a grand day out.
Appearance: Smooth. Slightly daft.
Oh, Wallace and Gromit! So British. So beguiling. They're like chips, crumpets and Stephen Fry all rolled into one. How are they? Very well, thanks. They've got a new six-part series starting on BBC1 next week, called Wallace & Gromit's World of Invention.
Oo, lovely! I shall butter myself a teacake in readiness. Will Wallace be indulging all his Heath Robinson-ish talents to bring us a collection of delightfully eccentric innovations in stop-motion claymation form? Not exactly. He and Gromit will be looking at real-life inventions, contraptions and gadgets from around the world. It will be a mixture of live action and animation.

I'm in a grand old Texas town called Smithville, shooting my next movie Doonby with a great cast and crew. The film was written and is being directed by Peter Mackenzie. The cast is an amazing group of friends new and old-John Schneider, Robert Davi, Will Wallace, Jenn Gotzon, Joe Estevez, and others. On the flight out from Lax I ran into Joe and we had a nice chat. Add a few years onto his nephew Emilio Estevez and you have Joe. He's a great guy who told me all about his great family of 10 brothers and sisters born into an Irish Catholic/Spanish family (including his brother Martin Sheen). His mother was apparently told that she couldn't have any more kids after the first two, but she ignored doctors' orders and had eight more. Love that. The film centers...
