Lindsay Lohan is looking to take on the legacy of Ann-Margret.
After Lohan first voiced her desire to portray the frequent Elvis Presley collaborator in a biopic, Us Weekly reports that Ann-Margret, 83, has agreed to the project and has been spending time with Lohan in preparation for her portrayal. IndieWire has reached out to Lohan’s representatives for comment, but we did not immediately receive a response.
A source told Us Weekly that Lohan “feels she’s the only one who can play the part” of Ann-Margret, and that Lohan “wants to win an Oscar and an Emmy.” Lohan believes the biopic could “take her career to the next level.”
The actress recently has ushered in her “Lohannaissance” via some Netflix movies, which she’s also produced, and is preparing for the long-awaited “Freaky Friday” sequel — it’s in the works with Jamie Lee Curtis. Lohan recently had a cameo...

In 1948, tickets to the Met Gala were $50 apiece. In 2024, a single entry fee for the exclusive social event was about $75,000. Despite the high cost, celebrities, designers, and the who’s who of NYC and beyond shell out for the gala, which benefits the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Since the ’70s, the annual affair has attracted household names wearing the most haute couture fashions — always adhering to the chosen theme. See some of the most out-there and iconic guests and looks at the Met Gala over the years.

Nicole Kidman certainly turned back the clock in her Balenciaga look at the Met Gala.
Designed by creative director Demna Gvasalia, the Oscar-winning star stepped out in a 1950s-inspired white double silk bustier and flared skirt over frayed layers of black silk organza to mimic feathers. The original gown was inspired by the ruffled dresses worn by flamenco dancers, a nod to Balenciaga’s Spanish heritage.
“It was based on a dress in 1951 by Balenciaga at that time by Cristóbal,” Kidman told La La Anthony on the red carpet. “It was something that I saw in [a Richard] Avedon photo [of Dorian Leigh from Harper’s Bazaar]. I asked Demna if he was willing to reinterpret it. So he reinterpreted it in the vein of the sleeping beauties and the gowns, bringing them back to life. So I consider this to be a ‘Sleeping Beauty’ brought back to life. It’s an honor...

The Met Gala is always about who turned up, what they were wearing — and who didn’t show. This year, there were a number of fashionistas fans missed seeing on fashion’s biggest night.
Rihanna
Surprise! Always one of, if not the most anticipated guest at the Met Gala every year is RiRi. Though many had expected her to attend this year, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that she stayed home due to an unexpected bout with the flu following an appearance in Miami over the weekend for the Formula 1 race. The news, first reported by People, came as a shock and broke late in the night while the carpet was full of stars and photographers. Rihanna had even teased her strategy for this year’s event, telling Extra that she had planned to keep it “real simple.” The flu made it much more complicated.

Jennifer Lopez, a co-chair of fashion’s biggest night, wore her most daring Met Gala ensemble yet at Monday’s gala, taking place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Arriving on the earlier end, as is expected for a co-chair of the night, Lopez stepped onto the carpet in a Custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown designed by Daniel Roseberry.
The dress code for this year’s gala is “The Garden of Time.” The A-lister was mostly on theme with the look. The sheath dress, embroidered with warm silver pearls and rhinestones, features 2.5 million silver foil bugles. Lopez told Vogue on the red carpet that the look was meant to resemble butterfly wings.
To round out the look, the star wore a Tiffany & Co. necklace, earrings and bracelet, a ring in platinum and yellow gold with diamonds and a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock ring.

Celebrating the launch of her Fenty Beauty Soft’lit Foundation at an event in Los Angeles on Friday, Rihanna dropped some hints about her always highly anticipated Met Gala look.

Rihanna’s Met Gala selections are often the talk of the town and a hit on social media. Last year, the star closed out the Karl Lagerfeld-themed red carpet in a Chanel-inspired, camellia flower-covered hooded gown by Valentino with a long skirt train. The creator of Disney+’s Becoming Karl Lagerfeld has explained the thinking behind the team’s decision to eschew a biopic when telling the story of a crucial stage in the fashion icon’s life.
Gaumont’s Daniel Brühl-starring six-parter, which premiered out of competition at Canneseries last night, focuses on Lagerfeld’s entry into the fashion world in the early 1970s and his relationship with rivals like Yves Saint-Laurent.
“It was important to me not just to do this as a biopic,” creator Isaure Pisani-Ferry said this morning at MIPTV. “A biopic takes the fun facts of life and lays them out one after the other. It addresses the curiosity of the viewer. I didn’t want it to read like a Wikipedia page about this person.”
Pisani-Ferry added that Lagerfeld – who died five years ago – is “at a turning point” during the series, surrounded by characters full of “love,...

Cannes stood up for Daniel Brühl, as his new Disney+ show “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld” earned a 3-minute standing ovation on Sunday.
Premiering out of competition, it captures the late German designer before morphing into the instantly recognizable figure that took pop culture by storm. And, courted by young Jacques de Bascher (Théodore Pellerin), finally opening up for love.
Local viewers enjoyed the spectacle, laughing at Lagerfeld’s awkwardness or at Yves Saint Laurent’s (Arnaud Valois) clumsy attempts at romancing de Bascher. The verdict? A “fun” and “entertaining” new show, declared Canneseries audience members, happy to share their enthusiasm with Variety even despite the language barrier: “C’est genial!”
The screening, which started with a joyful fashion show similar to Lagerfeld’s collection for Chloé in the 1970s – spotlighted in the first episode – attracted just about every celebrity in town. Including “Beverly Hills, 90210” alumni Jason Priestley and “Riverdale’s” Vanessa Morgan,...

Fifteen years after “Inglourious Basterds,” Daniel Brühl is back on the Croisette, this time on the pink carpet at Canneseries, for the world premiere of “Becoming Karl Lagerfeld,” a prestige Disney+ miniseries which offered him one of his biggest acting challenges to date. To play Lagerfeld, Brühl not only perfected his French and learned to speak and walk with small heels like the late fashion icon, he also pulled from his own life experience as a perpetual foreigner, being both German and Spanish. Produced by Gaumont (“Lupin”), the six-part series chronicles the rise of Karl Lagerfeld through the world of 1970s Parisian high fashion. The lushly lensed series opens in 1972, as 38-year-old Karl Lagerfeld aspires to become the most famous French fashion designer, at a time when Yves Saint Laurent reigned supreme. Powered by a pop aesthetic, the series sheds light on the tumultuous love affair between Lagerfeld and Jacques de Bascher.

Today’s Hollywood stars are more “sophisticated” and “aware of the business” than in the days Kyle MacLachlan was starting out, the Sex and the City star said today as he gave his thoughts on another Twin Peaks reboot.
As a budding actor, MacLachlan played the role of Paul Atreides in David Lynch’s 1980s version of Dune and he spotlighted how different the approach is for today’s young stars such as Timothée Chalamet, who plays Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s version, and Chalamet’s co-star Zendaya.

Michele honed his penchant for idiosyncratic looks while working for Karl Lagerfeld at Fendi and for Tom Ford at Gucci. When Ford departed to head his own label,...

In 2024’s bizarre bid to become the year of the underwear, Kristen Stewart is the latest celeb to go pantsless. Since brief-focused looks debuted on runways last year, many stars have been spotted at fashion shows and red carpets sans trousers.
Most recently, Sydney Sweeney debuted bedazzled briefs at the Miu Miu presentation during Paris Fashion Week. Kiernan Shipka also wore underwear (cable knit with a matching cardigan) to the Chloé runway show. Now, Stewart has jumped on the trend, going pantless twice this March (so far). See her looks here:

Penelope Cruz says she loved every look when Chanel’s Spring 2024 haute couture collection debuted in Paris on Jan. 23, but one dress leaped out as her favorite: a cigaline style dancing dress in a candy-hued pink, featuring a hand-beaded flounced neckline worn off the shoulders, sequined bodice and ankle-length full skirt. The design was undeniably among the highlights of the ballet-inspired collection by Chanel artistic director Virginie Viard.
Cruz forwarded the image to Chanel’s team, requesting to wear the dress at an upcoming event, and it was quickly agreed that the design would be perfect for the Feb. 24 SAG Awards — where she would be a best supporting actress nominee for Ferrari — and that crafting it in a different color also elevated the look to one-of-a-kind status for the actress.
“We talked about the possibilities, and we all thought this tint of blue could be perfect,” Cruz, a Chanel ambassador...

Every Sex and the City fan will instantly recognize two high-wattage looks up for sale in the latest event presented by Julien’s Auctions — one piece worn onscreen by series star and executive producer Sarah Jessica Parker — as they’ve transcended the function of costumes or fashion to become part of the show’s enduring iconography.
“Unstoppable: Signature Styles of Iconic Women in Fashion” is indeed an apt title for an upcoming auction that includes the three-tiered belted tutu skirt worn by Parker in Satc‘s opening credits (and again in the 2008 movie). The skirt was famously purchased by the show’s costume designer, Patricia Field, who discovered the piece in a $5 bargain bin and fashioned it into one of the most-recognized looks in the series.

London – A psychedelic eye mosaic commissioned by John Lennon for the swimming pool at his Kenwood home in Surrey in 1965 leads Bonhams’ Rock, Pop & Film sale on Wednesday 29 November at Knightsbridge, London.
Claire Tole-Moir, Bonhams Head of Popular Culture in London, commented: “This monumental mosaic, commissioned by John Lennon is a striking example of the Beatle’s artistic vision and influences. Lennon’s Kenwood home in the English countryside was a place of respite from all the public attention he experienced during the height of The Beatles’ popularity. It’s said Lennon would spend idle hours near the swimming pool and that the mosaic could even be seen from his favoured ‘sunroom’ at the top of the house. With Kenwood still under private ownership, it is very rare to see anything from when John Lennon lived there, making the ‘Psychedelic Eye’ mosaic an incredibly important artefact of Beatles history.”

Another week, another demon baby born amid bloodcurdling screams. Hey, American Horror Story is nothing if not consistent.
Wednesday’s episode, billed as the finale of AHS: Delicate Part 1, begins with a trip back to 1987 Manhattan, where a young designer (psst, it’s Ms. Preecher!) experiences a violent, terrifying birth at the hands of Dr. Hill and the Ashleys — or whatever names they were going by at that time.

Kim Kardashian and Anna Wintour shared an awkward exchange while at Victoria Beckham’s Paris Fashion Week show.
Kardashian arrived 47 minutes late to Karl Lagerfeld’s former 18th-century Parisian townhouse where the show was being held. She appeared in a light pink satin gown and stopped to greet David Beckham on the way to her seat, which was right next to Wintour.
Wintour did not wince when the reality star finally sat down and seemingly moved to another seat later on. Videos from the event showed that Beckham replaced the fashion icon and carried on his conversation with Kardashian.

The Chloé spring/summer 2024 collection marks Gabriela Heart’s last one for the brand. It was announced in July that she’d be stepping down after weeks of rumors about her departure. But on Sept. 28 during Paris Fashion Week, she went out in style, with a finale of bombastic cheer in front of a host of Hollywood A-listers from Barbie actresses America Ferrera and Issa Rae to names including Olivia Wilde, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, singer Kelly Rowland and tennis star Venus Williams.
“I’ve known Gabriela since going to the Met Gala with her back in 2016, for Gabriela Hearst [Hearst’s eponymous brand]. And, to now be here and see her journey with Chloé is emotional but I’m really proud of what she has done with the company to make it a B Corp to everything ethically for the climate is emotional. But I’m thrilled and excited to be sharing this with her,...

Antonio Marras’ catwalk transformed into a set where he shot a remake of a 1968 Hollywood movie. During Milan Fashion Week on Sept. 20, the Sardinian fashion designer set up an onstage film studio, with various rooms in which actors, actresses, workers, divas, a production secretary, costume designer, editing secretary, personal assistant, seamstress, director, producer, set coordinator, clapboard operator, sound engineer, extras, models and aspiring actresses took turns in the spotlight. In a flash, the audience found itself catapulted to the end of the golden years of cinema, amid fleeting and rambling kaftans, couture gowns, robes, tailored suits cinched at the waist with masculine styles, duster coats, sheath dresses, and dramatic and divine evening gowns.
