Despite being one of the longest-running live-action sitcoms of all time, you don't hear much about "My Three Sons" anymore. The series ran for an impressive 12 seasons beginning in 1960, producing 380 episodes of wholesome sitcom scenarios during a decade of tremendous upheaval. "The real world was quite tumultuous and revolution was in the air," star Barry Livingston told CBS News in a 2009 retrospective, "and we were still eating Uncle Charley's cookies and having milk."
"My Three Sons" doesn't have the enduring legacy of more thought-provoking shows of the '60s and '70s, like "M*A*S*H" and "The Twilight Zone," nor is it typically mentioned in the same breath as all-time-great comedies like "I Love Lucy" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show." Despite the show's absence from most abridged versions of TV history, though, it still connected with audiences in its time: the series about a widower raising three sons as a...

J.R. was waiting in line with maybe 200 fellow fans to spend a moment getting the autograph of – and perhaps taking a selfie with – Christina Ricci, the actress who made her debut in the “Addams Family” movies in the 1990s who is now an Emmy-nominated star on the Showtime series “Yellowjackets” as well as a regular on Netflix’s “Wednesday.” The setting on Saturday was the Hollywood Autograph Show at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel, a three-times-a-year movie and memorabilia event where fans can come to lay eyes on some old-time celebrity favorites, get their name in ink, pose for a selfie and maybe pick up a book or vintage photograph.
Eighty or so celebrities staked out tables to sign their name and pix for a fee. J.R. was one of those who got hooked on attending these shows a few years back and now never misses one.

Tim Considine, one of the most popular young Disney actors of the 1950s before originating the role of the eldest brother on the 1960s sitcom My Three Sons, died Thursday at his home in Los Angeles. He was 81.
His death was announced by his son Christopher, and shared on Facebook by My Three Sons co-star Stanley Livingston, who played Chip Douglas to Considine’s Mike. “Tim and I have been friends for more than 70 years,” Livingston wrote, adding “He will be missed by all those who knew him. I love you Bro.”
Considine was already known to television audiences — particularly youngsters — by the time he was cast for the 1960 debut on ABC of My Three Sons. He had played Spin Evans on the mid-’50s Mickey Mouse Club serial “The Adventures of Spin and Marty,” and, later in the decade, Frank Hardy (to Tommy Kirk’s Joe Hardy) on the...

There has always been an understated rivalry between the mediums of movies and television. Many years ago it was even thought as being somewhat of a drastic career letdown if actors/actresses from film decided to depart for the landscape of television. The truth is that for some performers that had stalled or uneventful momentum in motion pictures that the concept of “slumming it” in television actually saved their show business profession. Hence, the boob tube made them relevant whereas the big screen had unceremoniously passed them by.
However, there is also a mutual respect that cinema and television share that go hand in hand when shaping our appreciation for entertainment on both the big and small screen. When movies depict the aspects of the TV world giving a sociological, psychological or emotional perspective then it is not so uncool to be a proud couch potato after all, right? Let...

Chicago – The TV show “Get Smart,” which had its original run on the NBC network from 1965-1970, was an oddball classic. Created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, the sitcom was a goofy satire on cold war politics of the 1960s, with a hapless operative named Maxwell Smart (Don Adams) working for the Control agency, spying against a foreign menace called Kaos. Barbara Feldon (Agent 99) and Bernie Kopell (Sigfried) were part of the supporting cast.
Feldon and Kopell were also part of The Hollywood Show, a two day gathering of favorite TV and movie stars to meet fans and sign autographs. The next show in Chicagoland will be at the Hilton Rosemont on September 7th and 8th, 2013 (details below the article). The Show will have over 30 celebrities in attendance, including Barbara Eden and Bill Daily (“I Dream of Jeannie”); Tippi Hedren (“The Birds”); Barry Livingston, Stanley Livingston and Tina Cole...

Chicago – To answer the musical question, “Baby, if you ever wondered, wondered whatever became of me?” there is the sublime Loni Anderson, who portrayed Jennifer Marlowe on the popular 1970s sitcom, “Wkrp in Cincinnati.” Anderson was an attendee of “The Hollywood Show,” which comes to Chicago again on September 7th and 8th, 2013.
Loni Anderson is much like her character on Wkrp – luminous, intelligent and with a unique perspective. She climbed the show business ladder herself, after having a first marriage and a child in her teens. After that marriage ended before her 21st birthday, she finished college at the University of Minnesota and started an acting career, taking roles on stage and in local and national commercials. After moving to Los Angeles in 1975, she dyed her jet black hair to blonde, and began a series of high profile appearances on familiar dramas and comedies of the era, including “The Bob Newhart Show” and “Police Woman.

Don Grady (above, right), who played big brother Robbie Douglas on 1960s sitcom "My Three Sons," died Wednesday (June 27) at the age of 68. His death was confirmed to the AP by Barry Livingston (above, middle), who played youngest brother Ernie on the show. The two are pictured above with fellow on-screen brother Stanley Livingston (left).
Livingston says Grady had been suffering from cancer and was receiving hospice care at his home in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
"It's the oldest cliche in the world when TV brothers start referring to each other like biological brothers, but he was the oldest, and somebody I looked up to and learned from a great deal about life," says Livingston.

The handsome actor best known for playing son Robbie Douglas on My Three Sons has died. Also a composer and musician, Don Grady (far right) was 68 years old and had been battling cancer.
A native of San Diego, Grady was cast as a young Mouseketeer on the classic kids' afternoon show, The Mickey Mouse Club. After that, he appeared on several TV shows of the day like Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater, Wagon Train, The Rifleman, and The Eleventh Hour.
He was then cast as the middle brother, Robbie Douglas, on My Three Sons. Movie star Fred MacMurray played his dad with Stanley Livingston and Tim Considine (another Mickey Mouse Club vet) playing his younger and older brothers respectively. I Love Lucy's William Frawley rounded out the cast as maternal grandfather "Bub" O'Casey.

Pixar fans everywhere are revving their engines at the release of "Cars 2." And returning to the role of Mater, the dilapidated tow truck, is everyone's favorite redneck comic (no, not Jeff Foxworthy). We are talking, of course, about sleeveless sensation Larry the Cable Guy.
Poor cable guys of the world. Between Larry and Jim Carrey's character in the 1996 dark comedy "The Cable Guy," it seems as though they're all portrayed as either blue-collar slobs or homicidal maniacs (we have it on good authority that several are not). But since Larry the Cable Guy and Jim Carrey's Cable Guy are the two most prominent icons of that noble profession, they will now battle it out for the title of bestest cable guy of them all.
Get cable ready. Get TV set. Go!

Here’s something you probably haven’t heard anybody say in along, long time—it’s a big week for Barry Livingston. Yes, that BarryLivingston, the one who played the adopted brother Ernie on My Three Sons.Today marks the 50th anniversary of the premiere of the series that made him ahousehold name and he’s got a big movie coming out this weekend.
Now, you might be asking yourself, “Which one was Ernie?”
He was the nerdy one. He wasn’t the dreamy older brotherRobbie (that was Don Grady) and he wasn’t the kind of everyman-ish brother Chip(played by his real-life sib Stanley Livingston). But being one of TV’s mostfamous geeks doesn’t seem to have slowed him down a bit.
Since My Three Sons ended, all the TV brothers have gone onto do some interesting things. Don wrote the theme song to The Phil DonahueShow.

A cute bit of fun for the kiddies, this collection of stories based on the work of Doreen Cronin is harmless entertainment for all ages. The DVD, part of the award-winning “Scholastic Storybook Treasures” series, consists of five stories by Cronin, three of which feature that mischievous feathered imp Duck.
Duck follows in the footsteps of other famous fowls like Donald and Daffy, using his cleverness to get his own way. In fact, Duck’s voice is so similar to Donald Duck’s, it’s a wonder Disney hasn’t complained. Duck’s perpetual opponent is the hard-working but easily outwitted Farmer Brown. Brown is to Duck what Ranger Smith is to Yogi Bear, or Officer Dibble is to Top Cat, or zookeeper Stanley Livingston is to Tennessee Tuxedo.
In the first story, “Giggle, Giggle, Quack”, Duck takes advantage when Farmer Brown goes on vacation, leaving his unsuspecting brother Bob in charge.

Concord, Nh - The Rad Girls prove that women can be out of control without beating each other senseless. The trio of Ramona Ca$h, Munchie and Darling Clementine are in the midst of their third season of mayhem on MavTV. For fans of classic television, there's a unique opportunity for you to listen to, and perhaps even talk to, three members of the Douglas family from My Three Sons!
The beloved sitcom initially revolved around widower Steve Douglas (Fred MacMurray) and his three boys; Mike (Tim Considine), Robbie (Don Grady), and Chip (Stanley Livingston). They were all kept in line by grumpy Uncle Bub (William Frawley), the boy's maternal grandfather.
Bub eventually moves to Ireland because Frawley was supposedly too ill to be insured and had to be let go. Thankfully, Bub's brother Charley (William Demarest) steps in to take his place.
Around the same time, Mike gets married and moves away. Soonafter, Steve adopts Chip's young orphan friend, Ernie (Barry Livingston), and there were three sons in the house (and opening credits) once again.
My Three Sons ran for an amazing 380 episodes and 12 seasons. It's also one...
