Twelve new acts compete for a spot in the next group of top seven acts on tonight’s America’s Got Talent. Some will step up their game while others will take a step backward. Who’s got what it takes to go to the semifinals? The singers tonight were a bit half and half so to speak. A few of them delivered amazing performances, but a couple of them still needs to rehearse more. Mirror Image’s song choice was a miscalculation on their part. The harmony that they had before seemed to disappear. I have my doubts about them making it to

It’s time for Days of Our Lives to make like the Phoenix and rise from the ashes.
Earlier this month, NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt told fans of the 52-year-old soap that Megyn Kelly’s imminent addition to the network’s daytime landscape didn’t mean that Salem was about to be wiped off the map. Still, to ensure that those sands keep passing through the hourglass, the show might want to really needs to consider making a few changes under incoming headwriter Ron Carlivati (formerly of General Hospital).

While it awaits word on its fate, Days of Our Lives is making some major changes.
As rumors swirl — and get slightly quelled — that NBC might scrub the long-running soap, it has been announced that series vet Dena Higley will step down as co-head writer.
Seizing the show’s reins as head writer will be Ron Carlivati, whose credits include extended runs at ABC’s One Life to Live (where in 2008 his writing team won the Daytime Emmy) and, from January 2012 to July 2015, General Hospital.
Days‘ other co-head writer, Ryan Quan, will remain with the sudser under the title of creative consultant.

The fallout from Mariah Carey's headline-making New Year's Eve performance continues.
Carey's manager, Stella Bulochnikov, is doubling down on accusations against the producers of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest in a new interview with Et.
"I'm furious," Bulochnikov told Et's Carly Steel on Wednesday in Studio City, California. "She cut her vacation short. She came there to have a festive moment, not a disastrous moment."
The singer suffered technical difficulties after hitting the stage just before midnight on Saturday in New York City, eventually causing her to walk off stage. After the show, Carey tweeted: "S**t happens. Have a happy and healthy new year everybody. Here's to making more headlines in 2017."

And when her beau, Bryan Tanaka, popped out of a cake dressed as a Chippendale on Sunday's episode of Mariah's World, you'd have to be living under the world's biggest rock to not know that Mimi's anniversary was much better than her New Year's Eve.

Technical difficulties tend to intertwine with my work every once and awhile. One of those times is when I had a phone interview with director Michael Bartlett. Bartlett is coming into St. Louis to promote his latest film, Treehouse. I didn’t realize until a few hours prior to the interview that Bartlett was the co-director of The Zombie Diaries and Zombie Diaries 2. Prior to calling Bartlett, I did some research – as I usually do – and got my questions ready. Typically, when I do interviews, I try to be more conversational than just ask questions. It seems to flow better for both myself and the subject of the interview. I’m also always interested in what got said subject into creating something in the genre as well as their background with the genre.
After I prepped “guideline” questions, I called Bartlett and proceeded to have about an hour long conversation with him.

For over twenty years, Monday Night Raw has come (mostly) live into our homes, changing the way we look at professional wrestling. There have been many celebrations of the show’s history, and moments such as Steve Austin’s beer bath, Hulk Hogan’s return in Montreal, Mick Foley’s title win, and the Bret Hart-Shawn Michaels embrace are sure to live on forever, immortalized in DVDs and network specials.
Still, there’s always an issue with running live TV – no matter how big the broadcast (as those who watched Super Bowl Xlvii can attest), anything can happen and things can often go wrong. The more than 1100 episodes of pro wrestling’s flagship show have given us plenty of opportunity to see the outrageous, bizarre, and downright unpleasant happen. Los Angeles, Sep 18: Singer Katy Perry recently requested fans to send her photographs of cute cats because they cheer her up.
Perry, 28, experienced a technical glitch while previewing her new single "Dark Horse" from her album "Prism" in the early hours of Monday morning. So, she decided to utilise the time by interacting with fans, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"Technical difficulties, but don't worry, I'm right by your side and we're gonna get through this together in the next couple of minutes," Perry tweeted.

On Tuesday night, viewers will find out who will be the "Dancing with the Stars" Season 16 champion. It really could be anyone -- Kellie Pickler, Zendaya, Aly Raisman and Jacoby Jones all have a shot at that Mirror Ball. So who will it be?
And did fans really get the chance to vote legitimately after the ABC.com voting page went down?
Who will win "DWTS" Season 16?
Usually, there is at least one finalist on "Dancing with the Stars" who can't or who shouldn't win. That's not exactly the case in Season 16. Some of the dancers are more likely than others to win, but anyone is a possibility.
Most likely to win: Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough
Throughout the whole season, Kellie and Derek have been consistently good. The pair has never had a truly bad week -- when your one misstep is Len not liking the dance, you know things are good.

Oops! Technical difficulties with voting on Monday temporarily forced Dancing with the Stars to divert fans from the network website to social media to pick this season’s winner.
Voting on ABC.com is temporarily down,” the show tweeted Monday on its official site. “But you can vote by texting, calling and on Facebook.”
The website was eventually restored and the hoofers hit Twitter in force to encourage voting to resume. “Facebook and abc.com are back online,” Zendaya tweeted. “Don’t forget to vote that way too…u register with email then u will get 5 votes!!”
The finale is tonight on ABC.

Another person will leave us tonight on American Idol and, no, we're not talking about Randy Jackson. We'll go from three girls to the Top 2 who will compete next week for the 12th Idol crown.
But before we get to that point, Lauren Alaina and Alicia Keys are stopping by to perform and Idol judge Mariah Carey will debut her new music video.
Let's get this show started!
Technical difficulties get the group number off to a rocky start. The girls all persevere and continue singing through the botched sound mixing. It's not a particularly memorable performance anyway, but they showed their professionalism by pushing through.
Jimmy said he chose difficult songs for the girls last night because he wanted to make things challenging for them. He gave Round One to Angie Miller but he was disappointed that she didn't play the piano.

After weeks of anticipation on "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23," this week saw James Van Der Beek's debut on "Dancing With the Stars." Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. Not even close.
Everything was going great for James during rehearsal. Dean Cain, his main rival, had been partnered with Karina Smirnoff, but even she thought they might have to settle for second after seeing James perform. But when he found out Chloe was subletting his apartment in New York while he was in Los Angeles, he started to freak out.
June's mom, who'd flown out to support him, gave him some tea to help him out, but instead drugged him. The version of the dance that went out on live television was an unmitigated disaster, so bad that producers had to throw up a "Technical Difficulties" screen.

Bruno Mars kicked off his Saturday Night Live hosting gig with a musical number in which he worried about living up to the standards set by another R&B vocalist-turned-comedy-mvp, Justin Timberlake. It turns out the “Runaway Baby” singer had nothing to worry about.
Mars’ impressive array of impersonations and off-kilter characterizations, and his willingness to try on everything from hoochie-girl drag to an eye patch to a giant mouse costume, helped make his one of the funniest SNL episodes in recent memory.

Much of the latter part of the first season (and beginning of the second season) of Grimm has focused on the impact that Nick has had on the Wesen world as a whole. His emergence as a powerful, efficient Grimm with connections has sent shockwaves through the Wesen population, making him a major target of both the Wesen and the royal families. It's one thing to have a Grimm around, but to have one that has gotten this good this quickly with a partner from the Wesen world could have major implications that reverberate for years to come.

I've struggled with my perception of Victoria, pretty much since she popped onto the Top Model audition episode espousing about the Trail of Tears. Her (unintentional) humor has been one of my favorite things about cycle 19 and much of the time, I'm entertained by how unusual of a person she seems to be. Top Model often repeats archetypes and personalities, to the point where you know the dynamic the house will have before the cycle even starts, so it's been nice having a round peg trying to fit into the square Top Model circle. Though I can't help but giggle at how committed she gets at a photo shoot or the continued drubbing she gives Kiara in her confessionals, Victoria's had many moments that make me believe that she doesn't have the emotional fortitude it takes to become America's Next Top Model. The asocial behavior, the dangerously co-dependent relationship with her mother,...

Every now and then you are surprised by how deftly a film can balance between two different themes or elements. The fact that For A Good Time, Call… can be both sweet and raunchy at the same time is a testament to co-writers Lauren Anne Miller and Katie Anne Naylon along with feature debut director Jamie Travis.
But the film really succeeds by presenting two women in Lauren and Ari Graynor that, despite their bickering, you end up rooting on to become friends (that’s the sweet part). The raunchy part is filled in by the backdrop of them running a phone sex line out of their apartment in New York as Lauren breaks out of her shell. A few weeks ago I was able to sit down with Miller and Graynor to talk about finding that balance, the soundboard featured in the film, catching audiences off guard, a bejeweled dildo named Susan,...

Hello, my lovelies! So sorry for the lateness. Technical difficulties and so on.
This week’s theme was Romanticality, which translated in everyone’s heads (including you, Michael, admit it!) as “Excuse to mack on Blake.”
Spoilers (and snark) ahead!
This week’s guest judge is Darren Criss. Fortunately, this was not filmed during a full moon so his werewolf beard and hair were not present.
Robert introduces him as one of Glee’s breakout stars and someone who participated in some of Glee’s most romantic scenes. He doesn’t mention that those scenes were left on the cutting-room floor. The Homework Assignment is “More Than Words” by Extreme. Since the contenders were zygotes when the song was a hit, they all look mystified. For no reason I can explain, Extreme’s guitarist and the writer of the song, Nuno Bettencourt, will be on hand to play the song for them.

Castle: 4.20 "The Limey" Review
Unlike many episodes in which a third party comes between our dynamic duo, last night’s “The Limey” didn’t cause jealousy for either of them. Instead, it left Detective Kate Beckett heartbroken and Castle acting like a petulant child whom I started to progressively hate over the course of those forty-two minutes.
I admit I was a little reluctant about this episode and not at all excited about the fact that someone would presumably come between Castle and Beckett again, particularly after how last week’s “47 seconds” ended. But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The case was alright (although I was more preoccupied with the characters – especially Kate – than the case itself) and I actually liked Mr. Scotland Yard. Of course the fact that he was really easy on the eyes helped, but I liked the way the character was written...

Start of new panels in bold
7:54 am – Greetings again from the penultimate day of activities at the Con! Yesterday started out disappointing and turned into something so fantastic I think I got a nosebleed (hopefully we’ll have the details posted soon). But today should prove to be awesome through and through, with the big daddy of lineups here in Hall H. First up on the block? Oh, and Fyi: My updates on Thursday were cut short by the Con’s overloaded wireless, so I’ll be updating for as long as I humanly can, I promise you. See you at 11:30.
11:51 am – starting Up. Someone’s blowing on a vuvuzela.

Recording a solo album on a "Trading Spaces" budget does not sound like a Broadway star's groundbreaking personal project. Yet when Donna Lynne Champlin fractured her ankle in "Billy Elliott," that is exactly what she did. The result—"Old Friends," which dropped Dec. 1—challenges the traditional recording system and makes Champlin almost as happy as the hours spent singing in her bathroom and agonizingly mastering tracks did. She set out to prove that it she could accomplish a professional-sounding labor of love one a budget of $1000. But the experience also served as a lesson in making a profit by making herself happy. When Champlin decided to record, mix, and master her own solo CD, she had no idea what she was in for. "I started this because I wanted to prove that it could be done and I wanted to lay out the groundwork for anyone who wanted to do it themselves,...

Meredith Hoffa: Sytycd's season six results are in and I couldn't be more bonkers-thrilled. I cannot believe there is not some sort of parade I can partake in.
The final three contenders -- Russell, Jakob, and Kathryn -- all had the chops to be worthy of the title of America's Favorite Dancer (lamest title ever), but from the beginning of this season, it was Russell who really gave me major jazz hands. Is there anyone who doesn't love an underdog story? Here's a truly dear-seeming guy with little technical training who was the first krump dancer to ever make the top 20. So it was mind-blowing when he was able to pick up every style that was thrown at him, week in and week out, from pasodoble to lyrical jazz to Bollywood to samba. Plus, his ginormous smile has become one of my favorite sights ever; the guy has joy literally...
