Taylor Swift is busily preparing for her stadium tour and she’s not the only one getting ready.
The “End Game” singer, 28, shared an adorable photo of one of her cats, Olivia Benson, stretching her leg upward while staring directly at the camera on Monday.
“We are all stretching to prep for that tour choreo,” Swift captioned the photo. The pose looked eerily similar to Victoria Beckham’s own signature pose.
The Grammy Award-winner also shared a Spotify playlist of her favorite songs, tweeting, “Songs I’m loving right now.”

Tom Hanks, Emma Watson, Karen Gillan and John Boyega star in The Circle. But you won't see it in UK cinemas now.
Presumably off the back of its disappointing run in Us, that saw it gross $20m, the movie of The Circle is heading straight to Netflix in the UK. The movie, which cost $18m or so to make, stars Tom Hanks and Emma Watson, and it'll get its Netflix UK bow on June 30th. No UK cinema release is now planned.

Emma Watson. Tom Hanks. John Boyega. Karen Gillan. That's the ensemble that will star in The Circle, a social media thriller that just got its first trailer. And, from the looks of the two-minute sneak peak, this could be a modern science fiction treat, a sci-fi thriller that addresses one of the most anxiety-inducing subjects of our age: the intense integration of technology into our daily lives.

An intriguing first trailer has been released for Tom Hanks' upcoming thriller The Circle, which comes from director James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now, The End of the Tour). The film is based on the novel by Dave Eggers, and it's his biggest and most commercial film yet. The director managed to bring together an incredibly talented cast that also includes Emma Watson, John Boyega, Karen Gillan, Ellar Coltrane, and Patton Oswalt to bring the story to life on the big screen. Here's a description of the story:
When Mae Holland is hired to work for the Circle, the world’s most powerful internet company, she feels she’s been given the opportunity of a lifetime. The Circle, run out of a sprawling California campus, links users’ personal emails, social media, banking, and purchasing with their universal operating system, resulting in one online identity and a new age of civility and transparency.

Transformers and Resident Evil alum Li Bingbing is reportedly nearing a deal to join Meg, the giant shark pic that’s bubbled to the surface over at Warner Bros.
First reported by Variety, news of Li circling a part comes to us soon after Fan Bingbing was forced to bow out of the maritime thriller due to scheduling conflicts. Aside from that minor setback – which looks to have been rectified as quickly as it came to the fore – Meg is already beginning to shape up rather nicely for WB, boasting a diverse cast that currently comprises Jason Statham, Rainn Wilson, Jessica McNamee and Orange is the New Black stalwart Ruby Rose.
They’ll need all hands on deck, too, for Warner’s white-knuckle ride pits its core group of adventurers against a Carcharodon megalodon – a “70-foot, 40-ton prehistoric cousin of the great white.” Well, we did say it’s a giant shark pic.

After closing a lucrative deal with Netflix to the tune of $90 million for David Ayer’s Bright – where the script was said to be valued around $4 million – Chronicle scribe Max Landis has sparked a new bidding war over sci-fi script Deeper.
That’s according to The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that Guardians of the Galaxy and Burnt star Bradley Cooper is circling. Landis’ latest spec dates back to November, where the industrious scribe first unveiled Deeper as a claustrophobic deep-sea thriller. Kornel Mundruczo, the European helmer behind White God, is reportedly attached to direct.
In essence, the maritime drama centers on the story of a former astronaut (Cooper, we assume) who dives beneath the waves to explore a newly-discovered deep sea trench. Plunging deeper than even the Marianas Trench, the fissure opens up access to the deepest parts of the ocean, and all of the murky mysteries that reside there. Could...

The World of Kanako
Written by Akio Fukamachi, Tetsuya Nakashima, Miako Tadano & Nobuhiro Monma
Directed by Tetsuya Nakashima
Japan, 2014
Tetsuya Nakashima’s The World of Kanako is a blood-soaked detective story about an unstable father’s quest to track down his missing daughter. While falling within the broad boundaries of a detective story, The World of Kanako plays out as an ultra-violent, psychotropic dive into the brittle mind of a damaged protagonist. While the squeamish will definitely want to sit this one out, those up for a hyper-kinetic, genre-bending revenge flick are in for a treat.
Akikazu Fujishima (Kôji Yakusho) is a flat out mess: he’s lost his job, lost his family, and self-medicates his mental illness with alcohol and drugs. Akikazu floats through his life without meaning until his ex-wife (Asuka Kurosawa) calls to inform him that his teenage daughter Kanako (Nana Komatsu) is missing. Whether fueled by...

Nicki Minaj's rap banger "Anaconda" might not seem like the most likely song to turn into a heartfelt ballad . . . but that didn't deter Josh Ramsay of Canadian pop-rock band Marianas Trench. The singer and guitarist put an alternately funny and surprisingly beautiful spin on the track as part of a cover-song challenge for New Zealand radio station The Edge. Give it a listen and tell us what you think.

Ex Machina finally landed the ferociously talented Alicia Vikander a well-deserved spot on the New A-List, but the actress isn’t resting on her laurels. With six films opening in the next nine months, we’re going to be seeing a lot of Vikander on the big screen, and she just secured another buzzy role – in James Ponsoldt’s adaptation of The Circle.
Based on the novel by Dave Eggers, the story focuses on a college grad (Vikander) who gets a job at a powerful tech company simply known as The Circle. Tom Hanks is circling (sorry, couldn’t resist) the role of a mysterious colleague, who opens her eyes to a more sinister side to the company.

One of my all-time favorite actors in Hollywood is Tom Hanks, and he’s looking at starring in a new film called The Circle. The project is an adaptation of a novel, and it being adapted by writer and director James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now).

Art: for hundreds of years, it has inspired the masses, and provided us with some of the greatest creative minds the world has ever seen. Without visual art, there’d be no Michelangelo, no Vermeer, no Kahlo- the list goes on and on. And art is truly great: it gives everyone an outlet for their emotions, a way to communicate without using words, and, on top of all that, it’s fun! Whether you be a painter, sculptor, glass-blower, cartoonist, or any other type of artist, you have chosen a path that is full of joy, exploration, and fulfillment.

Underneath the pretty colours and intricate details of breathtaking finished products are struggles that can only be understood by those within the artistic community. “Blade Runners”
Written By: Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming
Directed By: Serge Ladouceur
Original Airdate: 18 March 2014
In This Episode…
Dean has been trying to get Crowley on the phone for weeks, with no luck, and he is getting damned frustrated. Crowley has been living the rockstar life, holed up in the suite of a fancy hotel with a sexy young minion named Lola, who responds to his every whim (which, it turns out, is mostly sex, pizza and human blood). Maybe it is more accurate to say that Crowley is living the rockstar junkie life - he is a blood addict, shooting it up like heroin. (Exactly like heroin - The Velvet Underground’s “Heroin” plays in the background.) Anyway, his “donor” is almost empty so he sends Lola out for more. Instead, she stops to pass off intel to Abaddon. She knows nothing except the Winchesters keep leaving...

No less an authority than Stephen King calls Nick Cutter’s The Troop “old-school horror at its best.” The book, which goes on sale February 25, finds a young group of scouts on an isolated wilderness trip confronted by a strange man with a horrible, deadly infection. Early reviews are invoking everything from Lord of the Flies to Night of the Creeps, which is a good sign in my book. I’ll have my own review of the novel here at Fearnet next week, but for now we’ve got a few words with the author himself. Fearnet: You've cited Stephen King as a major influence on your work and this novel in particular. What elements of his work do you see in The Troop? Cutter: Well, I cribbed its structure from Carrie, which is a debt I make clear in the acknowledgements. “The Body” (made into the film Stand by Me) is another obvious touchstone.

Not many award shows can make a combination of mermen, Korean pop stars and "Chavril" work, but that's exactly what the 2013 Much Music Video Awards did Sunday night in front of a sectioned-off block in downtown Toronto.
Hundreds of fans gathered in front of the MuchMusic building to catch this year's performers and presenters hit the red carpet as well as take to the stage in a two-hour popularity contest celebrating a marriage of video and music.
South Korea's Psy made his debut as this year's co-host and kicked the show off with his renowned hit 'Gangnam Style'. The K-Pop sensation also took home an Mmva for "Viral Video of The Year" with the same song, only to outdo his iconic horse dance with his personal twist on Beyonce's 'Single Ladies'. Psy would then later close the show with his first live performance of 'Gentleman' in Canada, set...

He beat out homegrown competition from fellow Canadians Carly Rae Jepsen, deadmau5, Drake and rockers Marianas Trench, which earlier in the evening won for best pop video of the year for Desperate Measures. The MMVAs have taken over Toronto once again and while all eyes and ears will be focused on the red carpet for the first bit, we’ve decided to do something a little different with a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on behind the scenes at the MuchMusic Video Awards.
The annual event is known for its semi-unscripted charm and outlandish entrances from performers and nominees but deep down, it’s a showcase of Canadian music and pop culture wrapped up in a two-hour show. Now, if past performers are an indication of anything, there’s bound to be questionable outfits, headline-grabbing antics, oh and some music as well.
Speaking of music, viewers can expect performances from Demi Lovato, internationally-renowned DJ Armin Van Buuren and fellow Canadians Classified, Avril Lavigne and Marianas Trench. They’ll also be joined by the likes of Taylor Swift, Brittany Snow and South Korean pop sensation Psy,...

Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, Mary Tamm as Romana, John Leeson as K-9 and Alice “The Borg Queen” Kirge as a submarine captain. What could possibly go wrong?
As you gathered from that set up, I wasn’t overly impressed with this story. It starts with the Doctor and company arriving in the Marianas Trench. No sooner have they figured out where and when (the 2040s) they are, when the Tardis is picked up by a submarine and brought inside.
Turns out the sub is a special deep sea exploration vessel that my mind kept wanting to call SeaQuest. As they probe around under the water, they spot a group of intelligent squid who try to warn them away. Does the sub crew say, “Hey, great idea. These squid can’t have an agenda against us. Let’s make for the surface?” No, of course they don’t. Soon...

Regina, Saskatchewan — Call her a winner, definitely. Carly Rae Jepsen has won the top Junos at the 42nd annual Canadian music awards ceremony, including Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year and Single of the Year for her smash hit "Call Me Maybe."
Jepsen seemed stunned during Sunday's awards show that her gold-selling album "Kiss" beat out teen-pop sensation Justin Bieber and Celine Dion. However, Bieber did take home his fourth career Juno for Fan Choice Award.
Leonard Cohen won his second Juno of the year – the fifth of his career – for Songwriter of the Year for his album "Old Ideas."
Vancouver pop outfit Marianas Trench won Group of the Year for their record "Ever After." Classic rockers Monster Truck won Breakthrough Group of the Year.

As predicted, Carly Rae Jepsen was queen of the night. She won single of the year for “Call Me Maybe” which actually Was the undisputed single of the year. That never happens!
“I feel so blessed. It’s crazy to think how one song can change your life,” she said onstage. “Kiss,” the career-making record that has plenty more songs on par with “Call Me Maybe,” by the way, also snagged Album of the Year. (Carly Rae also won a Juno on Saturday for Pop Album of the Year, beating out Justin Bieber, who made her career with a few tweets and an adorable viral lip-dub video.)
Backstage, Jepsen was still awestruck. “I’m moved beyond words,” she said. She’s also feeling the weight of the “Call Me Maybe” phenomenon.

What time are the awards on?
The Junos will air on CTV on Sunday, April 21 at 8 p.m. Ct, after "The Amazing Race." Be sure to check local listings, particularly if you live on the coasts. Last year, a historic 6.5 million viewers tuned in to the awards on CTV.
Where are the Junos this year, anyway?

Cleaning my basement the other day turned into a musical archaeological dig. I unearthed a Men at Work vinyl album from when I was 8, a bag of old-school rap cassettes ranging from Fresh Prince to N.W.A. and a flipbook of alt rock-era CDs from Alice in Chains and Beck to Smashing Pumpkins and Tool, each one of which I still know by heart from the first track to the hidden one. (Ask a Gen Xer, they’ll know what I’m talking about.)
Nowadays, most everyone, especially young folks, have ephemeral MP3s scattered across their hard drives and smartphones. Increasingly, they don’t even bother with downloads but simply stream songs via services like Rdio.
Millennials have never really known a world, at least for the past 13 years, in which every song they ever wanted wasn’t readily available to them freely file-sharable, for a buck on iTunes or though a subscription.

If you ever needed evidence of the diversity in Canadian music – or the fact that the Junos can be a bit of an Oprah “You get a car! You get a car! You get a car!” love-in – you couldn't do better than the Juno Fan Choice category, which bundles together Drake, Carly Rae Jepsen, Metric, Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, Leonard Cohen, Marianas Trench, Michael Buble, Nickelback and Hedley.
But let’s be less cynical and instead appreciate an award show that dares break down to a metaphorical cage match between Leonard Cohen and Rush against Carly Rae and Bieber.
That said, both legendary oldsters got shut out of the album of the year prize, despite Cohen's number one debut for "Old Ideas." Instead, the Junos' top category comes off more like six degrees of "Call Me Maybe" with hat tips for Carly Rae Jepsen's "Kiss," her hit song's co-songwriter Josh Ramsay's emo-rock outfit,...

New York — Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" became the soundtrack for endless viral online fun last year: U.S. infantry soldiers lip-synched to it in Afghanistan's Kunar Province. So did James Franco and the U.S. Olympic swim team. Models from Abercrombie & Fitch showed off their abs to it, as did hair-whipping Miami Dolphins cheerleaders. Dogs have barked the whole song. Parodies of it have been parodied.
Fellow singers from Katy Perry to Selena Gomez embraced the pop goodness.
Even the Cookie Monster jumped on the "Call Me Maybe" train.
The song put 27-year-old Jepsen, who finished third on a season of "Canadian Idol," in the spotlight and on a path to potential Grammy gold. The monster hit is nominated for song of the year and best pop vocal performance at the Feb. 10 awards show.

2012 will be remembered for countless things, but most of these memories will be soundtracked by Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe," a song that pretty much single-handedly reminded everyone why pop music matters.
It's easy to forget in the song's stratospheric rise that, while Justin Bieber may have accelerated its ascent — or, let's be honest, got people to give it a chance in the first place — the song was written, recorded and released well before Biebz and his wunderkind manager Scooter Braun got involved.
It's even easier to forget, albeit mostly because few people ever knew, that the now-classic song was co-written by Josh Ramsay, the emo-haired lead singer of Canadian pop-rock outfit Marianas Trench.
But even if most "Call Me Maybe" fans (or, rather, most people) have no idea about Ramsay's Carly Rae connection, important industry players are now well aware of his role in creating one of...

We came here today not to bury Justin Bieber, but to praise him. While the Canadian pop star's fancy high-stepping proved to be out of bounds to the sold-out football crowd at Toronto's Rogers Centre for the 100th Grey Cup game, we're dropping a penalty flag on the boos his performance received.
The pop idol, who recently received the Diamond Jubilee Medal from Prime Minister Stephen Harper in a pair of overalls, was a divisive half-time show attraction for the Canadian Football League championship game which was won 35-22 by the Toronto Argonauts over the Calgary Stampeders.
Throughout the first half of the football game any mention of Bieber drew boos from the well-lubricated and decidedly middle-age audience. But by the time he was set to perform, those boos were matched by the trill screams of a few hundred young Biebermaniacs who had been ushered onto the field to form...

Forgive me for being nearsighted, but I don’t pay nearly as much attention to music from other places as I should. Aside from a handful of bands from England, Marianas Trench from Canada, and a few random Japanese bands, I admit that my attention has been focused on my own neck of the woods. But, sometimes beauty comes from way out of left field and finds you when you least expect it; the first time I heard Glosoli by Sigur Ros remains one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever experienced with music.
So, with an open mind and hope, I decided to give Mak‘s self-titled debut a listen. Hailing from Montreal, I only knew their name and that they played a hybrid of music that was fascinating to behold. The decision to give them a chance was one of the best I could have made, because...

MuchMusic Video Awards honor Katy Perry, Lmfao: "As Canada's version of the VMAs, not much separates the ceremony aesthetically or programmatically from its American counterpart, save the fact that it's held in the MuchMusic parking lot in downtown Toronto, lacked Lady Gaga in drag, and honored a handful of performers many Americans couldn't pick out of a lineup. The big winners would be familiar to viewers watching from Mars, however, including Justin Bieber's protegee Carly Rae Jepsen, whose 'Call Me Maybe' helped her pick up three trophies, the most of the night (Bieber was right behind with two wins). James Cameron's Titanic movie Titanic 3D was the no. 2 movie on the domestic box-office chart on Wednesday, April 4, according to figures found at Box Office Mojo. Directed by the Marianas Trench's James Cameron, and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, Titanic 3D collected $4.37 million at 2,674 theaters, landing right behind The Hunger Games' $4.6 million at 4,137 locations. Comparisons are hard to make. The Hunger Games is in 2D, which means cheaper movie ticket prices, but it's playing at 1,500 more theaters than Titanic 3D. The Hunger Games has also been around for 13 days; Titanic 3D opened on Tuesday, earning approximately $325,000 at various preview screenings. Directed by Gary Ross, The Hunger Games stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Josh Hutcherson. At no. 3, Jonathan Liebesman / Sam Worthington / Ralph Fiennes' Wrath of the Titans grossed $2.25 million, followed by Julia Roberts / Armie Hammer / Lily Collins' Mirror Mirror with $1.66 million and Channing Tatum...

This week Titanic steams for our screens in iceberg-sharpening 3D. With his production partner decompressing after his trip to the bottom of the Marianas Trench, Jon Landau sat down with Empire to talk about the newly relaunched event movie. Naturally we couldn't resist the urge to get a status report on their other major epic. So is Avatar 2 still on course for that mooted late 2014 release date? Well, possibly not. When we caught up with the producer recently he denied any delay, but this time he was a lot more circumspect: "We're not naming dates, but I think 2014 will be a tough date for us to make. It's about getting it right." brightcove.createExperiences(); As Landau was at pains to point out: "Movies make release dates; release dates don't make movies". Reading between the lines, it's safe to say that we won't be heading back to Pandora until 2015 at the earliest,...

Hard as it is to believe, there are some moments when films don’t matter above all else. You want a perfect example? Simply look at James Cameron‘s recent expedition to the Mariana Trench — a.k.a. the world’s deepest point — and then get reminded that a documentary is being constructed in the meantime. What bears a greater importance?
But the journey came to an end this past weekend and, thanks to this, we can get back to Cameron‘s little side project. He gave some big updates when speaking to The AP (via /Film), wherein our newfound intrepid explorer revealed that his developing project, Deepsea Challenge, could not only find itself on TV screens by the end of 2012, but also work its way into theaters as a 3D release some point after.

The Titanic director had to develop a special camera to withstand the 11km descent into the Pacific Ocean
Film director James Cameron is planning to release a 3D film of his pioneering Marianas Trench dive in the Pacific Ocean, it was announced last night.
Shortly after completing the 11km descent into Challenger Deep, the lowest known point on the Earth's surface, Cameron travelled to London to attend the premiere of the 3D version of his 1997 blockbuster Titanic. After the event, he told reporters that a 3D documentary of the dive, currently titled Deepsea Challenge, is being readied for a prospective cinema release later this year.
"We're shooting the whole expedition as a 3D film," Cameron said, explaining that the development of a new lightweight 3D camera, able to withstand the massive pressures at extreme depth, was crucial. "We spent a fair bit of the development budget of the sub figuring...

Prior to its release in 1997, the prevailing wisdom had it that you're as like have angels fly outta yer arse as see Titanic back on the big screen 15 years later, and in 3D. How times change, both for the film and the format. Titanic became the biggest film of all time* and the stereoscopic version premiered in London last night to huge excitement. The premiere last night, in the somehow appropriate surroundings of the Royal Albert Hall, saw James Cameron, Billy Zane and Kate Winslet reunite to show that, far across the spaces and distance between them, their collective heart goes on. So that's nice. It was good, too, to see that Cameron wasn't suffering any agoraphobia after his record-breaking trip to the lowest point on the Earth's surface when he descended the Marianas Trench last weekend. For those feeling nostalgic about the film, we've thrown in a couple of...

Two days ago, James Cameron made world headlines for reportedly finding himself about 11 1/4 kilometers below sea level in the Marianas Trench, which is supposed to be the deepest spot on Earth. Whether as a testament to human-made technology or human-made p.r., Cameron was actually able to tweet to his followers: "Just arrived at the ocean's deepest pt. Hitting bottom never felt so good. Can't wait to share what I'm seeing w/ you." Fast forward a couple of days and Cameron is above ground in London with Kate Winslet (photo) — but not Leonardo DiCaprio — at the premiere of Titanic 3D, the (are you ready?) 3D version of Cameron's 1997 multiple-Oscar-winning megablockbuster about a luxury liner that sank to the bottom of the ocean nearly a century ago. So, does that mean the timing of Cameron's deep-sea diving to-do and the ensuing Mariana Trench tweet were merely a couple of Titanic-related p.

The King of the World can rightfully call himself the King of Explorers When James Cameron emerged from his coffin-tight submarine on Monday having completed the first ever solo dive to the ocean abyss, the Marianas Trench's Challenger Deep, it was a thrilling achievement that advanced humanity's knowledge of the deepest point on earth. And now he has the film to prove it. In footage the Today show aired from an upcoming National Geographic special on the voyage, Cameron talked about the point of the mission and what he saw when he finally hit the pressure-filled bottom 6.8 miles down. James Cameron officially hit bottom – the bottom of the Marianas Trench, 35,756 feet below the surface. His custom built Deepsea Challenger will spend six hours at the ocean's deepest point with four HD deep sea cameras.
Hong Kong is a spectacular place, I used to keep an office there in a previous life. It's so alive and full of energy, not to mention a certain Dutch boy if memory serves. But one thing it doesn't have is land. So engineers are exploring the idea of hiding the "ugly things" like sewage treatment, parking and fuel storage deep underground, freeing up greenspace and room for living.

Nominees of the 41st Annual Juno Awards have been announced in Toronto Canada on Tuesday, February 7. Avril Lavigne and Justin Bieber are among the Canadian artists who receive more than one nod.
The two are up for Juno Fan Choice and Album of the Year. They have to defeat Arcade Fire, Drake, Michael Buble and Nickelback in order to nab the former, and once again have to compete against Drizzy, Buble and Nickelback to win the latter.
Aside from vying for the two awards, Avril also receives a nod in Pop Album of the Year. The girlfriend of Brody Jenner is facing off the likes of Down With Webster, Hedley, Lights and Marianas Trench.
Lavigne took it to Twitter to express her excitement of receiving multiple nominations. "Just woke up in Japan to learn I was nominated for 3 Juno Awards in Canada. Awesome start to the day. Thank you!!! xo Avril" so she wrote.

The Canadian Press -- Toronto - Lady Gaga won two awards and provided a double shot of her trademark edgy, eccentric stage theatrics at Sunday's MuchMusic Video Awards — but it was a surprise appearance from beloved teen-pop star Justin Bieber that really sent fans into a frenzy.

"I want to say thank you so much to all my fans, you guys are amazing," Bieber said as he accepted his first award of the evening,...
