This finale was underwhelming. Claire is a witch yet again and a significant amount of time was spent on Brianna and Roger and Jamie and Claire having sex. I didn't find Claire and Jamie's conversations very interesting either. For much of the finale I found myself wishing they would stop talking and stop having sex so something interesting could happen.
Jamie and Claire are in this mess because they let the Christies move onto Fraser's Ridge. Jamie knew what kind of man Tom was and that he was a religious fanatic, but said in the first episode that he couldn't say no to Tom because he invited other people from Scotland to live there. That was weak and shortsighted. Did any viewers think that it was sensible?
There are ways to make Outlander exciting again, but Gabaldon and the other writers seem to have writer's block.
