Whether due to coincidence or collusion, 2013 is the year three of South Korea’s best film directors will premiere their English language debuts. Kim Jee-woon’s The Last Stand will hit screens first in January, while Park Chan-wook’s Stoker will follow suit a few months later. Both films look to exist firmly in their director’s respective wheelhouse leaving Bong Joon-ho‘s Snow Piercer as far more of an unknown entity. One of the biggest questions has now been answered though as The Weinstein Company has reportedly picked up distribution rights for the film in North America, the UK and a few other English-speaking regions. No official release date has been set, but Deadline seems to believe a Summer 2013 premiere is to be expected. Snow Piercer is based on a French graphic novel called Transperceneige and plays out almost exclusively aboard a futuristic locomotive. The world has become an iced-over post-apocalyptic wasteland, and...

Just when we thought we were done with the 2012 American Film Market, some more distribution news has come in: The Weinstein Company has picked up English-language rights to the thriller Snow Piercer from South Korea’s Cj Entertainment.
Per Deadline, the deal for the multiple territory acquisition of the future-set film was in seven figures. TWC will distribute Snow Piercer in North America, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
The English-language directorial debut of Boon Joon-ho (The Host), the film stars The Avengers’ Chris Evans, The Help’s Octavia Spencer, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Alison Pill, Tilda Swinton, and Song Kang-ho. Based on the graphic novel Le Transperceneige, Snow Piercer is set in the not too distant future, where a new Ice Age has wiped out most of the human race. With a revolt brewing onboard, the Snow Piercer is a train of Earth’s lone survivors that travels around the cold world.

Out of the hundreds of films that screen at the Toronto International Film Festival, there’s a chance you’ll only be able to eventually a portion of them in the near future. Thankfully, the marketplace this year seems to in a buying frenzy, as things only kicked off a few days ago and we’ve got lots to report.
Update: The Wrap reports that Focus Features turned out to be the victor and have picked up the Us distribution rights for The Place Beyond the Pines for around $2.5 million and will release in 2013. We’ve got no more info than that for now, but hopefully we’ll see it by the end of the year. Check out the original story below.
First up isn’t even confirmation of an acquisition, but it surrounds one of the most sought-after titles. Our positive review will be coming shortly, but Derek Cianfrance...

The famed independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch could be taking his latest production, a vampire love story, on the road to film some scenes in Detroit, according to the Detroit Free Press.
The Free Press reports that the director of quirky, beloved films like 2005's "Broken Flowers" and 1995's "Dead Man" was recently spotted in the city where he will plans to shoot some scenes for his upcoming production “Only Lovers Left Alive”.
Deadline Detroit writes that the filmmaker has been scouting out the Gothic-style mansions of the city's Brush Park neighborhood as potential backdrops for his new drama.
The romantic horror film, which tells the unlikely century-spanning story of two vampiric lovers, stars Tilda Swinton (Michael Clayton), John Hurt ("Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy"), Mia Wasikowska ("Alice in Wonderland"), Tom Hiddleston ("The Avengers) and Anton Yelchin ("Like Crazy").

At the young age of 79, John Boorman — legendary director of Deliverance, Point Blank, Excalibur, and… The Exorcist II — will finally helm Broken Dream, a film that he and Neil Jordan had, ages and ages ago, written for River Phoenix; sadly, it’s been sitting on a shelf in the nearly nineteen years since his passing. But Deadline reports that the shoes are being filled by up-and-comer Caleb Landry Jones, someone best known for X-Men: First Class or, later this year, Brandon Cronenberg‘s Antiviral.
Dream, unlike much of Boorman‘s more famous work, is actually a romance, one The Guardian previously described as following “Ben, a young illusionist in a dilapidated futuristic world who is taught by his father to make objects, and eventually people disappear.” How it grows from that point remains to be seen, but, for reassurance, know that a true needs-no-introduction kind of guy, John Hurt, is taking the aforementioned supporting role.

According to Deadline Oceania, Imagine Entertainment has come one step closer to our totalitarian future-past. Noah Oppenheim has been chosen to pen the script for the upcoming remake of 1984. To quote Deadline, this film is a “cautionary tale about a totalitarian future society, and a man whose job it is to rewrite history tries a bit of rebellion by falling in love, a move that runs afoul of Big Brother.” Okay, so there’s a lot more to it than that Mickey Mouse explanation. George Orwell’s dystopian classic novel from 1948 is a seminal piece of literature about the dangers of government intrusion, totalitarian rule, and the control of the media. It’s not as much a love story but rather one about a world where free thought is crushed, and one man dares to love. You should really just read the book. Orwell’s novel has been adapted for the screen a few times already, most...

Deadline is reporting that Noah Oppenheim will be adapting a new version of George Orwell‘s classic novel 1984, which will be brought to us from Imagine Entertainment.
For those of you who are not familiar with the novel, it is a “cautionary tale about a totalitarian future society, and a man whose job it is to rewrite history [who] tries a bit of rebellion by falling in love, a move that runs afoul of Big Brother.”
You may recall that the novel was turned into a big screen film that actually came out in 1984, which starred John Hurt and Richard Burton (his last film). As far as getting the plot down, it did an ok job, but those who have read the novel will remember it more as one of ideas and atmosphere rather than plot. In this sense, I felt the Hurt version did not do as well as it could have,...

We hoped when Bill Murray appeared on "The Late Show with David Letterman" earlier in the week that he might have something important to say about "Ghostbusters 3," but the funnyman didn't throw us much of a bone about the possible horror-comedy. When host Dave asked about the film, which mastermind Dan Aykroyd has been trying to get off the ground for some time now, Murray had this to say:
"That's about all they want to know at Cannes, too... But, um... They just don't have a really good script. It's hard. Even the second 'Ghostbusters' wasn't as much fun for me as the first one. It's hard to make a sequel. That first one was really funny. It was just so darn funny, it's hard for me... I always drag my feet on it, but you know, we'll try again."
Please don't tell us this is stuck in development hell forever,...

Casting — Like Crazy star Anton Yelchin will be appearing alongside Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, and John Hurt in Jim Jarmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive. The star-crossed vamp love tale is set to start filming this summer. Deadline doesn't report much about his role, so it's anyone's guess as to who will play the lovers central to the tale. Often in cinema, "star-crossed" denotes a younger, more naïve couple, which could pair Yelchin with Wasikowska, but only time will tell. One thing is for certain: just when we thought we couldn't stand to see more vampires, along comes the Dead Man director to reinvigorate our love for the bloodsuckers and leave us anticipating something intelligent, beautiful, and...

Anton Yelchin is set to star in his second vampire-themed film. Deadline reports that the Fright Night star has joined the cast of Jim Jarmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive. Filming begins this summer. The film also stars Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, and John Hurt.
The story follows "a centuries-long love affair between two star-crossed vampires." Yelchin has been on my radar since Alpha Dog, but I have been a big fan since Star Trek. He can handle romance movies with an edge, like he did in Like Crazy. He just wrapped shooting on Jj Abrams' Star Trek sequel and will next be seen in the Dean Koontz novel adaptation Odd Thomas.

Things looked just a bit shaky when Tom Hiddleston took the reigns for Michael Fassbender — in part, for me, because we hadn’t heard anything since late-January story — so I can, for lack of a better term, only take this as good news for Only Lovers Left Alive. Has "The Hunger Games" inspired a surge of dystopian movies?
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Brian Grazer and Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment are looking to bring George Orwell's "1984" back to the big screen.
Orwell's Big Brother-esque novel, published in 1949, tells the story of Oceania, a society where government surveillance and mind control are a constant presence. The book centers around Winston Smith, a man who challenges the intrusive tactics of those in charge.
The future adaptation wouldn't be the first time Orwell's iconic story has been made into a film. On top of three made-for-tv movies, the novel was also brought to life in the 1984 flick starring John Hurt and Richard Burton.
This isn't the first major novel Howard has been attached to in recent weeks. Deadline.com reported that Howard was close to reviving his long-gestating plans to make Stephen King's "Dark Tower" into a...

Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire director Brian Kirk is currently in talks to direct the feature film adaptation of Robert Ludlum's novel The Osterman Weekend.
The script for the film was written by Simon Kinberg and Jesse Wigutow, and the story sounds pretty awesome. I've read a few of Ludlum's novels over the years, but not this one. He may have missed out on helming the "Thor" sequel, but that hasn't stopped demand for the skill of Brian Kirk who has entered talks to direct the long-gestating adaptation of "The Osterman Weekend" at Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment and Captivate Entertainment reports Deadline.
The second and shortest novel of 'Bourne' series author Robert Ludlum, the story has the host of an investigative news show becoming convinced by a CIA agent that the friends he has invited to a weekend getaway in the country are engaged in a Kgb conspiracy that threatens national security.
The book was adapted once before in 1983 and marked the final film of trend-setting helmer Sam Peckinpah's career. John Hurt, Craig T. Nelson, Rutger Hauer, Dennis Hopper, Meg Foster, Burt Lancaster and Chris Sarandon all starred.
Simon Kinberg and Jesse Wigutow penned the reboot which ditches the Cold War and spy elements and will switch around some of the occupations.

Gregory La Cava and Irene Dunne
"An extraordinary movie is being screened at Anthology Film Archives [today] through Sunday," writes the New Yorker's Richard Brody: "Unfinished Business, a bitterly passionate romantic drama with a relentless comic tone, from 1941, starring Irene Dunne and Robert Montgomery and directed by Gregory La Cava. It's part of the ongoing series Stuck on the Second Tier: Underknown Auteurs, programmed by Miriam Bale, and you can't get it on home video." As you've probably heard by now, 20th Century Fox is trying to get Andy Serkis a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Academy Awards for playing the CGI ape Ceasar in Rupert Wyatt's awesome movie, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I think it would be incredibly interesting if he did get the nomination, and I hope he gets it just to see what happens and to get peoples reactions. I doubt he would win though. Maybe one day there will be a new award added for Best Motion Capture Actor. For those of you not sure if an actor dressed up in a mo cap suit should be nominated for an award, here's a video showing off Serkis' acting talent without all the CGI effects.

Ray Richmond is contributing to Deadline’s TCA coverage. Executive producer James Flynn sees the Showtime period drama series The Borgias as running “ideally four seasons,” he told reporters at a TCA session this morning. “That would be the plan. That would be the ambition,” he said. (A four-season run would mirror that of The Borgias‘ predecessor, The Tudors). “Of course, we can always go beyond that with Pope Julius and his reign.” The series stars Jeremy Irons as the late-15th century Pope Alexander VI and tells the story of he and his family members as something akin to mob figures. The series embarks on its second season later this year. “It seems to me that we are not yet even halfway through Alexander’s reign,” Irons said of his Pope character. “He was there for 12 years, and there is an enormous wealth of material available to us. So...

Rise of the Planet of the Apes actor says his co-star deserves a best supporting actor nomination for his motion-captured turn as Caesar the ape
Rise of the Planet of the Apes actor James Franco has made a public call for his co-star Andy Serkis to be honoured with a best supporting actor nomination for his motion-captured turn as Caesar the ape in the science fiction reboot.
Serkis has been conspicuous by his absence from lists of nominees published by the influential critical bodies in the runup to next month's Oscars, despite a high-profile campaign by Twentieth Century Fox highlighting his work on the Rupert Wyatt-directed film. Franco's intervention appears to be a last gasp effort to convince members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that the British actor is worthy of recognition ahead of the final deadline for Oscars nominee voting slips on Friday.

If Summit Entertainment's estimates are correct and you choose to ignore costlier movie-ticket prices, Bill Condon's poorly received The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 may end up surpassing The Twilight Saga: New Moon's first-day take at the North American box office. Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, Breaking Dawn 1 was lagging a little behind the Chris Weitz-directed New Moon earlier today. Things apparently have changed this evening, as Breaking Dawn is expected to gross $73.5 million on Friday, vs. New Moon's $72.7 million. The sources for this information — and what follows — were The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline.com. Earlier in the day, Summit had been expecting Breaking Dawn rake in $70 million on Friday — including $30.4 million from Thursday midnight screenings — and about $135 million over the weekend. Now it's possible that Breaking Dawn will surpass New Moon's $142.83 million debut weekend as well — once again, as long...

Henry Cavill showing off his pecs and abs, Immortals (click on the image to enlarge it) The Twilight Saga will rule the North American box office this weekend. Well, in a manner of speaking. Fans are already lining up days before the world premiere of Bill Condon's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, but that's not what I'm talking about, either. Two Twilight-connected performers have top roles in this weekend's box-office champion, Tarsem Singh's Immortals: Henry Cavill, who happened to be author Stephenie Meyer's original choice for the role of Edward Cullen (which went to a guy named Robert Pattinson), and Kellan Lutz, who plays Edward's big brother Emmett Cullen in the Twilight Saga movies. Distributed by Relativity Media, which is also handling Singh's upcoming Snow White project Mirror Mirror, the R-rated Immortals features Greek gods fighting, romancing, and showing off their pecs and other physical endowments.

After many rumors and much hoopla, Matt Damon is finally lining up his directorial debut.
Variety has learned that Damon and "The Office" star John Krasinski have co-written a currently untitled script that Damon will now helm. The idea originated between Krasinski and "Away We Go" writer Dave Eggers, and then Damon came on board. The film would follow a salesman who reevaluates his life after moving to a small town, with Damon playing the salesman. The flick is currently set up at Warner Bros, and should start shooting soon on the east coast.

Briefly mentioned by Deadline — and confirmed by InContention — is the slightly disappointing news that Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy will be pushed back three weeks from its original release date of November 18th to December 9th. This is apparently being done to increase its Oscar chances, since December is right in the middle of the race.
All three trailers for this movie thus far has been rather phenomenal, and we’re greatly anticipating what director Tomas Alfredson has done with John le Carré‘s novel; an early reaction by the author himself calls it “a triumph.” With a cast that includes Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Colin Firth, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Toby Jones, John Hurt, David Dencik, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Stephen Graham, Kathy Burke, and Ciarán Hinds, can you blame us for having high expectations?
This new date means that it’ll be going up against The Sitter and New Year’s Eve in a wide release.

No surprises here people but Deadline hae just released this press release from Warner Bros. stating that the eighth installment of the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part has become the highest worldwide grossing movie of 2011. People are still going to see it at the cinema in droves and you can expect these figures to keep rising.
“As of August 8, the film had earned $344.8 million domestically and $801.5 million internationally, for an astounding worldwide box office gross of $1.146 billion, making Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2the third-highest-grossing film worldwide of all time.”
Crazy numbers but a crazy franchise! Will we ever seen numbers like this again in our life-time? I guess we’ll have to wait and see! – or just wait until J.K. Rowling brings out another book!
If you missed all our Potter coverage, you can go back and look at the multitudes of posts right here.

Deadline Comic-Con film correspondent Luke Y Thompson files: Director Tarsem Singh (The Cell) presented his latest visual overload with a mythological Greek setting, as 300 producers Mark Canton and Gianni Nunnari insisted that this project stands on its own and should not be considered a 300 knock-off. Singh said the film is a little bit darker than the trailers indicate. Greek gods are depicted as “young and pissed!” according to Nunnari. “If you were immortal, what would you rather look like?” asks Tarsem. Freida Pinto, Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz, and Henry Cavill are also here. No Mickey Rourke, unfortunately. Though some of the fights shown echo 300 a bit – slo-mo in some scenes involves characters moving so fast they leave a blurry light trail – the color palette is more varied, and the scale epic, with Tarsem's surreal aesthetic dominating any scenes that involve the gods and their enemies the titans.

Chris Evans, Captain America: The First Avenger Captain America: The First Avenger grossed an estimated $26 million — including approximately $4 million from midnight screenings — in North America on Friday, July 22, according to early, rough, unofficial estimates found at Deadline.com. Directed by Joe Johnston, and starring Chris Evans in the title role, Captain America is expected to earn about $66 million by Sunday evening. If so, Captain America will perform slightly better than Kenneth Branagh-Chris Hemsworth's Thor's $65.7m opening weekend. And that means Captain America will become the biggest superhero hit of 2011. Now, considering that Thor broke no records, while both James McAvoy-Michael Fassbender's X-Men: First Class and Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern underperformed, to become "the biggest superhero hit of 2011" doesn't really mean all that much. Captain America should easily top the North American box office, thus dethroning Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2...

I've already been excited to see this new Tarsem Singh-directed movie Immortals, but this new trailer was awesomely bad ass! The trailer contains a ton of new visual striking footage, that I imagine it will get you pumped up to see this great looking action-fantasy movie.
The film stars Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Isabel Lucas, Freida Pinto, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz, John Hurt and Mickey Rourke. For those of you who haven't connected the dots yet, Cavill is playing Superman in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel.
Here's the synopsis:
Eons after the Gods won their mythic struggle against the Titans, a new evil threatens the land. Mad with power, King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) has declared war against humanity. Amassing a bloodthirsty army of soldiers disfigured by his own hand, Hyperion has scorched Greece in search of the legendary Epirus Bow, a weapon of unimaginable power forged in the heavens by Ares.

Today has been a good day for Relativity Media. Earlier we reported that the studio had won a legal dispute between them and The Weinstein Company over the planned reboot of The Crow. Deadline is now reporting that Relativity is set to distribute Steven Soderbergh's Haywire. The film stars martial arts fighter Gina Carano, Ewan McGregor, Channing Tatum, Michael Douglas, Michael Fassbender, Bill Paxton, Antonio Banderas and Michael Angarano.
The action film is set for a January 20, 2012 release date. The film was actually financed by Relativity Media, but Lionsgate was set to distribute it domestically. Overseas distribution will be handled by Mandate, Lionsgate's international distribution arm. This marks the second film in two days to move from Lionsgate to Relativity Media. Marc Forster's Machine Gun Preacher, was the first. Forster wanted the film released this year, but Lionsgate could not accommodate it because of a busy fall schedule.

Ok guys, here’s something great and we want your full attention! Jayne Mansfield’s Car is an upcoming Billy Bob Thornton‘s project that will have an awesome cast.
And when we say that, we actually mean that Robert Duvall is already on board, and that, according to the latest reports, John Hurt, Kevin Bacon, Robert Patrick, Ray Stevenson and John Patrick Amedori are about to join him as well!
Thornton co-wrote the whole thing with his writing partner Tom Epperson, and, at this moment we know that Jayne Mansfield’s Car is actually “a comedy with dramatic overtone that revolves around the culture clash of two families, from different continents, in 1969.”
At least, that’s how guys from Deadline describe the whole thing.
Or, as Robert Duvall previously explained:

Billy Bob Thornton.s directorial career got off to a white-hot start, launching in 1996 with the Oscar-winning Sling Blade and gracefully moving into a lyrical adaptation of Cormac McCarthy.s All the Pretty Horses four years later. And then? Well, not much. He wrote and starred in the 2001 dark comedy Daddy and Them, and recently made the festival rounds with a Willie Nelson documentary titled The King of Luck. But his feature-film aspirations were on hold. News emerging this morning, however, suggests that Thornton.s vacation from the director.s chair may be coming to a close. He has set an enviable cast and secured funding for Jayne Mansfield.s Car, a .comedy with dramatic overtones. which Deadline reports will begin production on June 22 in Georgia. Thornton, who co-wrote the script, will star alongside Robert Duvall, John Hurt, Kevin Bacon, Robert Patrick and Ray Stevenson. The story is a culture-clash...

Sparse details about the project came to the surface last year when Billy Bob Thornton revealed that he would direct his first feature since the 2001 film Daddy and Them. Now we have details on the film titled Jayne Mansfield's Car, and a great line-up of actors to star in the new comedic drama. Deadline says Robert Duvall (Get Low), John Hurt (V for Vendetta), Kevin Bacon (X-Men: First Class), Robert Patrick (Walk the Line) and Ray Stevenson (Thor) in the story focusing on the culture clash of two families, from different continents, in 1969. Sounds like Flipped, but without the childhood romance. Thornton has hasn't much success on the big screen lately (his last film was the generic action thriller Faster with Dwayne Johnson), but apparently he's been busy with his music career. However, having the man behind Sling Blade return to the director's chair is quite an enticing ...

Despite earning much acclaim for the directorial debut Sling Blade, Billy Bob Thornton has only directed two features since, and the last one was released back in 2001. He’s planning to get behind the camera again with Jayne Mansfield’s Car, which is based off a script by the actor himself and Tom Epperson, and with Ar Films funding. He’s already cast Dennis Quaid, Rovert Duvall and Dwight Yoakam in roles, and now Deadline tells us about the main cast that’s been assembled for the film.
The list of actors is one that one would be foolish to not be impressed by, as it consists of Kevin Bacon, Ray Stevenson, John Hurt, and Robert Patrick, with John Patrick Amedori in line for a lead role. While Billy Bob Thornton is really only known as an actor now, the man actually kicked off his career with a phenomenal directing effort. Writing, directing and starring in 1996's Sling Blade, Thorton actually took home an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay (he wrote the play the film was based on). Since then he's directed two other features that, sadly, either didn't match the quality of his first film or get a proper amount of recognition. Now the cast of his fourth directorial effort, Jane Mansfield's Car, has been announced and it seems as though he is trying to correct both problems at once. Deadline reports that Robert Duvall, John Hurt, Kevin Bacon, Robert Patrick, Ray Stevenson and John Patrick Amedori have all signed on for Thornton's newest film. Set in 1969, the film is described as a "comedy with dramatic overtone[s]" and centers on a culture clash between two ...

Looks like Billy Bob Thornton is set with cast and financing for his next directorial effort [1], Jayne Mansfield's Car. But it also looks like neither of the recently reported additions [2], Dennis Quaid and Dwight Yoakam, might be in the movie. Get the full new roster after the break. We've known that Robert Duvall would have a key role [3] alongside Mr. Thornton, and Deadline [4] reports that John Hurt, Kevin Bacon, Robert Patrick and Ray Stevenson will also appear. Billy Bob Thornton co-wrote with Tom Epperson, and Deadline calls it "A comedy with dramatic overtone [that] revolves around the culture clash of two families, from different continents, in 1969." You can never knock filmmaker Lars von Trier (Dancer in the Dark) for not knowing how to keep his name in front of his films, unfortunately, it’s usually for something he said at the Cannes Film Festival. This latest press conference gaff came this morning at the press screening for his latest film, Melancholia starring Charlotte Gainsbourg (Antichrist) and Kirsten Dunst (Spider-Man) Charlotte Rampling (The Duchess), John Hurt (Alien), Kiefer Sutherland (24), Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood), and Stellan Skarsgard (Thor).
Pete Hammond wrote a piece today at Deadline detailing the flippant remarks. Trier, who is Danish was asked about his German heritage, to which he replied,
“For a long time I was a Jew and I was happy to be a Jew, then I met Susanne Bier [fellow Danish director and this year's Oscar winner for Best Foreign Language Film] and I wasn’t so happy. But then I found out I was actually a Nazi. My family was German. That also gave me pleasure.

Gerard Depardieu, Til Schweiger, Thomas Jane, Johnny Hallyday, Jon Lovitz and Eric Cantona already have been cast in the film, which plans to shoot this summer in Paris. Mirman and Sutherland collaborated on the Hulu-based television series The Confession, which also starred John Hurt, but it will be interesting to see what they can do with a larger budget in an international setting. As for the rumored 24 film, there hasn.t been much to report as of late. Scripts have been traded back and forth, and Sutherland stated a while...

The L.A. Times reports Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman are circling Fox Searchlight's Stoker, a family mystery-drama that will mark the English-language debut of Oldboy director Chan-wook Park. The film centers on a girl (the previously attached Mia Wasikowska of The Kids Are All Right) and her mother (Kidman) who are visited by a mysterious uncle (Firth) after the girl's father dies. "Prison Break" actor Wentworth Miller penned the script, but otherwise this is a promising project if there ever was one. I just fear that Wasikowska, as much as I like her, is risking over-exposure with all the big roles she has lined up. She'll next be seen starring in Jane Eyre.
