Big bangs and a speedboat chase do nothing to rescue this unexciting, unfunny action thriller
A straight-to-video nightmare is all that’s on offer here. Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Bruce Willis star in a cheap-and-cheerless action thriller that contrives to be unexciting, unfunny and crass. Gosselaar is Jack, a supercool tough guy and heist specialist with a heart of gold, in love with a veterinarian he’s cutely trying to impress by showing up at her clinic with a dog borrowed from one of his fellow criminals. Jack is lured into stealing diamonds by his ex, played by the haughty and leonine Claire Forlani, who in turn wishes ill on a certain Mr Big, in which role Bruce Willis smirkingly phones in his standard-issue performance. The production budget has been spent on a series of big, loud and very, very boring explosions, and there is a mind-blowingly uninteresting speedboat chase scene...

Michael Bay’s account of a besieged Us diplomatic compound in Libya is like an endless video game – but without the subtlety and insight
The title should give you some idea of how long this two-and-a-half hour film really feels. Actually, watching it is like playing Call of Duty for 72 hours straight – only without the subtlety and insight. Director Michael Bay brings his robust talents to bear on a fictionalised account of how, from dusk till dawn one terrible night in 2012, a heroic six-man American security team defended a Us diplomatic compound against Islamist terrorists in the Libyan city of Benghazi. Big guys. Big guns. Big bangs. And in many cases big beards: like a Marine Corps Zz Top.

New on DVD and Blu-ray
"Get Hard"
Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart team up in this comedy about a rich hedge-fund manager who is sentenced to San Quentin; desperate for tips on how to survive prison, he looks for help from a black businessman, assuming he'll know what to do. That's not racist at all! As it turns out, Hart's businessman has never even had a parking ticket, so it's the blind leading the blind. The Blu-ray has tons of extras, including an unrated cut of the film, a gag reel, deleted scenes, and these featurettes: "Just Put Your Lips Together and Blow," "Get Hard Line-o-Ramas," "The Kevin Hart Workout," "Face Off with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart," "-Ferrell Fighting," "A Date with John Mayer,...

The star looked so glam in a tousled side bun and bold red lips for her rousing performance of ‘America the Beautiful’ with the Sandy Hook Elementary School Chorus before Super Bowl Xlvii on February 3, 2013 in New Orleans, Louisiana — do You love the look? Vote below!
Grammy and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, 31, juxtaposed a tailored black and white ensemble with a piece-y side bun that looked incredibly chic. The singer paired the undone bun with a full set of asymmetrical fringe and matte red lipstick. Overall, she was elegant and fashion-forward!
Jennifer Hudson’s Super Bowl Beauty Look
Singing with the angelic student choir from Sandy Hook was such a sacred moment, it would’ve been inappropriate for Jennifer to go over the top with her hair and makeup. She had just the right amount of style and edge worn in a simplistic way. Her lips were bold yet the...

Deep in the heart of Vancouver – the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel to be specific – the cast and producers of Fringe gathered to celebrate the show’s landmark 100th episode, which also happens to function as the series finale. Phew! It was a long and difficult journey ripe with threats of cancellation, but we finally got there: one hundred episodes and a proper conclusion to the greatest sci-fi series of the last decade. My only question is, where was my invite to this celebratory event? It was probably just lost in the mail… Aside from the no doubt rocking party, executive producer J.H. Wyman revealed the title for Fringe’s final episode. And that title is… drum role please…
“An Enemy of State” will be the title of the second of two hours airing on January 18, 2013. Fringe tends to end its seasons in truly epic fashion, leaving me wondering just what...

I would love to be spending this time celebrating Leonard Nimoy’s fabulous guest spot on last night’s The Big Bang Theory. With Nimoy retired from on-camera acting, it was an inspired decision to have him play the voice of Sheldon’s Spock action figure, helping his owner through the thorny moral dilemma of whether to play with a vintage Star Trek toy, and what to do after Sheldon (Jim Parsons) does play with it — and it breaks. Placing Spock in various pensive and expressive poses as he guided and scolded Sheldon had me giggling throughout the episode. Better yet,...

On the one hand, it is fairly obvious that last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory will be on Jim Parsons' shortlist to send out for Emmy consideration, as well it should be. He fainted! He sang! He stripped! He ran the gamut of human emotions from joy to panic to abruptly intoxicated! I mean, just look at that photo -- that is just empirically funny. On the other hand, on a whole this episode just didn't quite come together the way it should've for me. Granted, as Sheldon-centric Big Bangs go, it wasn't nearly as insufferable as "The Einstein Approximation" (i.
