Director D.J. Caruso (Disturbia) keeps himself busy these days. He helmed and co-wrote last fall’s The Disappointment Room, which apparently lived up to its title, only to turn around and direct this weekend’s xXx: Return of Xander Cage just a few months later. He’s already attached to get behind the camera for G.I. Joe 3 and the horror thriller Selling Time, but that’s not all. He’s also, once again, eyeing the long-promised comic book adaptation Y: The Last Man, which looks to find life on the small screen.
While there have been multiple attempts to bring Brian K. Vaughan’s acclaimed graphic novel series to life, including 10 Cloverfield Lane‘s Dan Trachtenbergs’s try back in 2013, Caruso was perhaps the closest to bringing it to fruition, and he’s remained loosely attached ever since.

Whatcha gonna do when they come for you? Hand over your money and sit your ass down, that’s what. Bad Boys 3 is happening, according to Martin Lawrence. Appearing on Conan, Lawrence was asked if a third movie was going to happen to which he replied “I believe so. Yes. I just talked to Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said its real, they’re working on the script, they’re getting close and it all looks good.” So, it may be happening. With no official green light status, this could be hanging in limbo for quite some time. And that’s even before you think about Will Smith’s involvement. Whether or not big willie wants some bad boy action again, remains to be seen. With a number of movies in production for the fresh prince, including Selling Time, Hancock 2 and The American Can, the actor is certainly...

Though he won't be in Independence Day 2, Will Smith seems poised to return to the job of movie star, after a few years with the job as Willow and Jaden's dad. He has Focus with Margot Robbie, Selling Time, City That Sailed, and now he's in talks to star in Brilliance, an adaption of a Marcus Sakey novel. Set in a world where some people called brilliants have special talents, Smith would play a federal agent with incredible hunting abilities, tasked with tracking down a brilliant terrorist. Assuming this agent also has special likability skills, it sure sounds like a Will Smith movie. Welcome back, William.

D.J. Caruso, who impressed when he directing Shia Labeouf in both Disturbia and Eagle Eye, will helm Selling Time, which is intended to star Will Smith. While Smith has never officially said he'd star in it, he's made it clear he'd really like to play the lead role...for over a decade. This movie has been in the works with Fox since 2001. SOooo, what is the big deal? Well, Selling Time is about a guy who sells chunks of his life in exchange to get to relive the worst day of his life over and over again in hopes that he can stop a tragedy from happening.

Last year, we learned that Will Smith had his eye on the supernatural thriller Selling Time, but a deal was not yet solidified and was then described as "sensitive." It turns out Smith is still interested in the project about a man who is given the chance to relive the worst day of his life in exchange for taking years off his life span, and now a director has signed on. Deadline reports Disturbia and Eagle Eye director D.J. Caruso will be at the helm of the film, and he will also oversee a new draft written by Dan McDermott, after names like Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and Spike Lee tried. As usual, Smith's involvement is contingent on a finished script, so we'll see if McDermott's work can get the blockbuster star to sign on. Sadly, McDermott's experience on the big...

Disturbia director DJ Caruso is set to direct a new supernatural thriller called Selling Time. Will Smith has been interested in starring in the project for a long time but has yet to commit to it.
The film tells a very interesting story of "a man who sells pieces of his life in order to relive one day when he hopes to alter a tragedy that had a lasting effect on his life.
The script is being rewritten by Dan McDermott from a script previously written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Caruso is a solid director, and this seems like it would be a great project for him to take on. Hopefully Smith ends up jumping on board the project as well. I'm sure he'll make up his mind after he reads the script. ...

Hollywood megastar Will Smith is trying to choose his next move very carefully. The box office king is looking to reclaim his throne coming off of the disastrous After Earth, as well as a couple of rather ho-hum years. Even his Men in Black 3 failed to recoup it’s budget domestically, relying on international tallies to make it successful. So what’s he reportedly looking at? Deadline reports that he’s circling a supernatural thriller, Selling Time, which is set to be directed by Disturbia‘s D.J. Caruso. The film centers on a man that manages to sell off chunks of his life in hopes of being able to revisit and alter a tragic day from his past.
The film has been floating around Hollywood for over 10 years now, with several folks attached to write or direct over the years. Deadline claims Smith has been interested for almost just as long.

Big-budget supernatural thrillers are not films that Hollywood handles with any sort of consistency, and it.s a wonder they continue doing it. But money is money, and director D.J. Caruso will head back to that style of flashy filmmaking following a dip into calmer waters with 2013.s Ya novel adaptation Standing Up. Caruso has signed on to helm the long-in-development thriller Selling Time for 20th Century Fox. This iteration of the film, like many of them, is being prepped in order to bring Will Smith to the leading role, though Smith is being cagey about going into negotiations. Maybe he saw After Earth, too. Or didn.t see it; I can.t figure out which one is the more snarky comment. Smith has been re-attached to the film for the last couple of months, once the film went to Fox and found a new screenwriter in former DreamWorks ...

A couple of months ago we heard that Will Smith might be starring in a new film for 20th Century Fox titled Selling Time. Now, Deadline is reporting that the studio has found a director for their supernatural thriller in D.J. Caruso (I Am Number Four).
If you haven’t been keeping up, the film follows a man (Smith) who is able to relive and change the worst day of his life but in return, he must take seven years off his life expectancy. As many have noted before, it sounds a bit like a sci-fi version of Groundhog Day and with Smith headlining, it could turn out to be a hit.
As for Caruso, he’s not the most bankable name out there but he has delivered some fairly entertaining films in the past, most notably the Shia Labeouf thriller Eagle Eye and the Al Pacino/Matthew McConaughey starring Two for the Money,...

Exclusive: Things are coming back around again for Selling Time, the supernatural thriller at 20th Century Fox. D.J. Caruso is signing on to direct, and he will oversee a new draft by Dan McDermott that is being written in hopes that Will Smith will star in the film. John Davis and Jennifer Klein will produce with McDermott. Though he still has not committed to starring, Smith has long been interested in playing the lead role in the thriller about a man who sells chunks of his life in an attempt to relive the worst day of his life so that he can change a tragedy. I feel like I have relived this project several times; I first wrote about it when McDermott sold it as a spec to Fox 2000 while he was president of DreamWorks Television in 2001. Smith has been intrigued for almost that long. There have been numerous incarnations...

It was announced last fall that Will Smith was eyeing an upcoming science fiction project from 20th Century Fox titled Selling Time . Today, Deadline has an update, reporting that Eagle Eye and Disturbia helmer D.J. Caruso has signed on to direct. Roland Emmerich may be preparing for the worst with two versions of “Independence Day 2” (one with Will Smith and one without) but at least one thing remains clear: the “After Earth” star hasn't grown sick yet of the sci-fi genre with a newly announced project on his plate, while elsewhere Tim Roth and Gérard Depardieu plan to delve into soccer's behind-the-scenes dealings and Michael K. Williams switches sides of the law. Notoriously picky in his choice of starring roles and tending toward material with more commercial prospects, Will Smith has decided to firmly stay the course with his latest project, “Selling Time.” Scripted by Dan McDermott (“Eagle Eye”), the familiar-sounding film centers around a man who cuts seven years off his life so that he can relive the worst day of his life over and over again. Will Smith is attached to star in the upcoming supernatural thriller "Selling Time," the same movie the actor was attached to several years ago before dropping out due to a scheduling conflict. "After Earth" be damned! Will Smith loves high concept thrillers too much to be sidelined by what most agree was one of the summer's biggest boondoggles. Will Smith has attached himself to a pretty neat sounding film today. Titled Selling Time, the Dan McDermott-scripted project focuses on a man who has the chance to relive, and improve, the worst day of his life. The catch? He has to give up seven years of his life. Kind of sounds like a sci-fi take on Groundhog Day.
Set up at 20th Century Fox, the project is currently without a director but apparently there are quite a few A-list names who are circling it. Unfortunately, no further details on who might direct have been made available just yet.
As for Smith, though he hasn’t received an official offer, it’s basically a sure thing. As /Film points out, the actor is probably holding off until he sees who the director is. As we all know, Smith likes to take control over his projects and give a good amount of creative input.

Undeniable A-Lister Will Smith is an actor so popular and so wealthy he can basically write his own ticket, and often has. So it speaks well for the long-gestating thriller Selling Time that Smith is said to be hooking its apple wagon to his star. The Wrap reports Smith is now attached to front the supernatural thriller, which is set up over at 20th Century Fox. And while he reps are not commenting on the project at this time, Smith is reportedly close to signing on. Penned by former DreamWorks Television president Dan McDermott, Selling Time centers on a man who makes a dark deal, swapping seven years off his life expectancy to relive the worst day he's ever had. Why one would want to do such a thing is not being shared by producers at this time. This is a project that's been stuck in development for some time.
