Shalane McCall: Charlie Wade
Quotes
-
Charlie Wade : [after they turned onto Southfork] Why are we stopping?
Jenna Wade : Bobby is probably still on his way. He said to meet him at the gate and we'd drive up together.
Charlie Wade : [spots horses] Look, Mom! Are they Bobby's?
Jenna Wade : I think they belong to the family. Pretty, aren't they?
Charlie Wade : Yeah.
[they walk over to the wooden fence]
Jenna Wade : I used to have horses like this. Or rather, my Daddy did.
Charlie Wade : You never told me that.
Jenna Wade : There's a lot of things your Mommy never told you, honey. I used to live on a ranch not more than three miles down the road. And when Bobby and I were kids, he used to ride his own horse over to see me.
Charlie Wade : Right down there?
[points]
Jenna Wade : Mm-hmm. And a couple of years later it was a motorcycle. And then after that it was a convertible.
Charlie Wade : He came to see you a lot.
Jenna Wade : Whenever he could sneak away from his chores. He never liked to work much then.
Charlie Wade : He must have been really in love with you to keep coming around like that.
Jenna Wade : [smiles] We were in love with each other.
Charlie Wade : Boy, I wish I could have a horse.
Jenna Wade : Ah, I wish I could afford to give you one.
[sighs]
Jenna Wade : Of course, even if I could, where would you keep it?
Charlie Wade : Here.
[shrugs]
Jenna Wade : At Southfork?
Charlie Wade : Sure. All you'd have to do is marry Bobby.
[smiles]
Jenna Wade : [smiles] You, young lady, are talking about things you got no business talking about.
