Horrible yet fascinating!

This is a horrible movie, yet there is something very intriguing about it. The acting is not exactly top notch, but I enjoyed it very much. I was wondering why the students names were not listed on this website, however. I thought they were a very interesting element. Their acting was wonderful, in that they all had facial reactions and expressions to Jules' essay. I think some of these students will go on to great things--in particular the lovely blonde towards the back of the room. Her expression was phenomenal! I think one day she will win an Academy Award!

All in all, this film lacked much of an interesting plot. I felt though that the acting was hysterical! From the beginning where Jules bit his mother to the end with Jules' reaction to seeing his saviour (Dracula), I could not stop laughing! There was something very interesting about the film though. I may be out of my mind, but I give this film...a 10.

Solid Matheson adaptation!

I am a huge Richard Matheson fan and this short is a very faithful adaptation of his short story that was published in 1951. (Drink My Red Blood) It is both fascinating and terrifying in a really subtle way. I found Jules reaction to seeing his Saviour not funny at all -- I saw it as "Be careful what you wish for" because up until that moment the director does an excellent job at keeping you from knowing if Jules is insane or not. All in all it reminded me of George Romero's "Martin" and left me with a desire to see what happens next. I hate that about short films! "Martin" was a book in the 70's and Blood Son was published in 1951 -- I wonder where Georgie got his inspiration from? Matheson led the way and has inspired everyone from Stephen King to Chris Carter.
