Bones Is Irrational
Hitchcoc17 February 2023
When Brennan had the baby, it seemed that her character was still intact. But that ended quickly. When the baby came along, she is written as a mean spirited, confrontational virago. When Booth lists a litany of baby sitters, nannies, graduate students, etc., that have not met her specifications, it becomes downright silly. The little girl has been removed from daycare because Bones won't keep her nose out of the business. This then leads to her father (Ryan O'Neal) coming to the rescue and not being allowed any missteps. The main plot dredges up the old feud bit with two hillbilly families from West Virginia shooting at each other and an old guy getting shot. Then we have Hodgins literally going bonkers over some truffles in the nearby soil. That part is not very entertaining.

Slap her.
valstone5222 August 2023
I thought she would be more likeable after the baby. If anything she's more arrogant and mean, sure it her first child but she really went overboard. Having the police look for her father, was out of order. Yes she's smart, but there are others smarter than her. She has no empathy for others. Sometimes she's unbearable. I liked when a psychiatrist told her she maybe smart, but she knows nothing about life, or something like that. He really knocked her off her high horse. OK we know her parents left her, but max is trying to make up for it. She doesn't have to keep harping on the subject. This episode was good,, but they needed to lighten her up.

Love the new dynamic!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Like many others, while excited, I was skeptical about how it was all gonna work with baby Christine in the picture. I even waited until now to watch the episodes beyond when Brennan gives birth.

Let me just say, I really LOVE the new dynamic, especially when we have knowledge of the last 6 years of their relationship. It really gives fans a true payoff in seeing how mature their relationship is, without having to see all the lovey dovey, lust, sex stuff like with Hodgins and Angela.

Seeing Brennan, Booth, Christine, Max, and Parker as a family in Bones and Booth's very own house is a true fan payoff. I absolutely LOVE the mature, adult relationship they share. A-MAZING.

I honestly have been skeptical about the whole deal, but if there is any way possible to keep the same show, breathe fresh life into it, but keep the core show the same, this is how to do it!

Hands down to Hart Hanson and Co.

The reason why I love season 7!
Ola99313 February 2024
Hi Bones Booth Pod!

I really like this episode. The case was interesting enough for me and I like how both the murder and the feud between the two families were solved.

B plot is where I direct my focus though, just because I'm more interested in the characters and the interpersonal relationships, especially that of Bones and Booth. I love how we're getting the same arguments from them, but in a domestic setting (which always makes me think of the 100th episode in the famous scene when Bones says that she can't change, and me screaming 'THAT'S NOT WHAT HE'S ASKING FROM YOU') As we all expected, Bones will have unrealistic expectations for her daughter. That first scene in the diner was so enjoyable! Booth frustratingly listing all the reasons why Christine is being kicked out from the Jeffersonian daycare, but ending each sentence with "because you care so much about our daughter" Good job Booth!

Can we appreciate how much direct touch time we're getting this season! Even Hodgins can't believe they're kissing each other so casually at the crime scene. Love how Bones makes sure Booth knows that she trusts him, telling him he's a great father, something that matters to him a lot given his history with his dad. Also love how she explains the reason behind each kiss!

For the Max storyline, I understand where Bones is coming from, not trusting him with her daughter, but I also get why Booth is pushing for it. I remember Taryn mentioned having a theory on why Booth is advocating to have Max in Bones' life, and now in their daughter's life, but couldn't say it at the time because it might be a spoiler (I binge-listened to your podcast so it's all fresh in my memory) Can she say it now? Because I have my own theory but it would also spoil something from future episodes. I'm thinking maybe we have the same one!

And that last scene, warms my heart. I just love seeing them happy like that. They deserve it, as do we after all we've been through!

Best Lines:

Bones "I'm done now"

Max "What's not to like? She doesn't know I have a record"

Bones I just a b**** in this episode
jpharristx17 January 2020
I LOVE this show, don't get me wrong. BUT, sometimes they write the characters as such shallow b's and a**holes. Brennan is no exception in this one! She's such a b**** in dealing with her dad! I usually skip this one every rerun because it is so poorly written for Brennen's character. That's such a shame because there are some other stars that just shine in this, but they really ruined Brennen's like-ability in this one.

Whiny Whiny Brennan
danekera-9771728 March 2023
I watched the series 'Bones' while it originally aired and now, re-watching it, especially after Brennan had Christine, made me realize how whiny Brennan got about her baby and basically everything else after the baby was born. She's brilliant but...also annoying and downright stubborn, unappealing and ugly.

The whole 'my dad abandoned me!' is boring. Getting angry at Max because he didn't immediately answer his phone just shows how ignorant of life she really is. Sending out the police to search for him was a huge overreaction. Her character really changed...for the worst...after she had her baby.

Oh, and the fake southern West Virginia accents and the accompanying hillbilly music was stupid.

Little Angry about the McCoy/Hatfield quip
christinefliger24 December 2021
I am a descendent of the McCoys and am actually a little upset at the dismissal of the feud. I have photos going back to the 1890's of my family. I love Bones, but this upset me a little.
