The series starts to explore its ability to be creepy. Warning: Spoilers
Up until now, the show has been intriguing and occasionally witty, but in this episode things start to get creepy and crazy. It opens with a very gross self-surgery on the part of last week's blonde clone. I found the hotel room confrontation at the end a little bit anti-climactic, but the rest of the episode made up for it in ambiance. The blonde clone's motivation was revealed this episode, and I thought it was very interesting and realistic. One big theme of this episode was clones pretending to be each other. Sarah has to pretend to be Beth so that she can investigate blonde clone, but she also has to go see Kira or Mrs. S will block her out forever, so she enlists the help of Alison, who pretends to be her. While this is happening, blonde clone takes the opportunity to pretend to be Beth and infiltrate the office. This led to several spine-chilling moments, the highlight being when Sarah saw what blond clone did to the evidence on the board. Overall, very well executed episode, if a bit anti-climactic.

Solid

When straight-laced "soccer mum" Alison has to play the role of wild-child Sarah (who's busy being detective Beth), we're allowed some light relief from our introduction to the mysterious psychotic blonde clone (identity currently unknown).

This is another fun episode and the production manages to deliver surprises, chills and laughs in equal measure.

8 out of 10. Solid.

The Crazy One

Warning: Spoilers
For me, the first three episodes are the introduction since this one is more action-packed and the relationship between the characters is pretty well established. I like the scene where the young boy points to Sarah when asked to describe the killer. We also learn more about Sarah through her "connection" with Helena and the fact that she can have children. Allison ends up agreeing to help her sister and we see that Kira is not easily fooled. I know I can't say in every review that Maslany's acting is amazing ... but it's remarkable from the very first episodes. In short, Sarah's imitation game as a police officer becomes even more stressful with the arrival of the black sheep (well white) who gets involved in the situation.

[8.4] You're not my mom!

At last, a serious episode with superb acting, some cheesy police stuff and nice development. I don't know how Maslany manages to pull her characters' acts, accent and facial expressions and not make mistakes, but that's nothing short of amazing.

So far, the episodes are developing steadily and if fans feel the need to praise Tatiana Maslany's stellar acting in each and every episode, I'm only for and won't get tired of it.

What's up with that music ?

The show's pretty good, but did the background score for this episode weird anybody else out ? Maybe this is a British thing ? Bohmp ! tikki tikki tikki Bohmp ! LOL :D I dunno. I really like this clone concept and all but I suppose I haven't totally 'bought in' to "Orphan Black", as must-see TV yet. I just binged 'Carnivale' and maybe I'm thinking too much "big budget". The music is some interesting generic chit though.
