Nancy Martin, a resident at a Care home is killed during a less than friendly game of bingo. Neville's initial suspect Barbara Mitchell, Nancy's sparring partner at the home. Selwyn is discharged from hospital, but refuses to rest.
I can't say I have any real issues with this story, maybe just one, and it's a gripe I've had with this show since day one. Why bring in someone as brilliant as Hayley Mills, and given them such limited time. Gripe over, now the episode itself...
I rather enjoyed it, Murder at the bingo, sounds more like a case for Shakespeare and Hathaway, I could just about imagine those two on the case, but it worked, a wonderfully intriguing case, some lovely touches of humour, and of course, a really nice cast. There are some real touches of cleverness here.
Now I'll be honest, I adore Hayley Mills, but in recent years, I've been more of a fan of Ellie Haddington, ever since her role as Hilda in Foyle's War, and once again, she's excellent, she really stood out.
Xmasdaybaby1966 I was keen to read your words also, think we have some more commonality in this second episode.
8/10.
