Decent enough, just a little run of the mill.

After proposing to Petra McQuillan, Ellis Baxter is killed in a shocking accident, seemingly electrocuted trying to steal electricity from the local station, Neville is suspicious because of a pair of gloves, and believes that Ellis was murdered.

A slightly above average episode, but no more than that, it's watchable enough, but felt a little tired, and one of the smallest list of suspects to date, unfortunately it was very easy to work out 'whodunnit' without too much thought.

Ivan McQuillan is perhaps the least convincing character to date, not sure I bought the character, and that crypto mining computer was impossible to believe, never in a million years.

I loved that opening, the power cut idea was great, and there were some wonderful, different shots of the island, I thought Darlene came across remarkably well, probably the standout character, but ultimately this one's forgettable.

6/10.

Episode 4

A shocking opening. There is a blackout in Honoré. The power outage is traced to a local substation where the body of Ellis Baxter is found. He had been electrocuted.

It looks like a tragic accident. Ellis had a run of bad luck in Britain with his investments. He was now working in a computer repair shop and was engaged to be married to Petra McQuillan. The daughter of Ivan who owns the repair shop.

The case turns to murder. DI Parker finds out that Ellis was stealing electricity from the substation. He and Ivan were involved in the world of cryto currency and data mining which requires a lot of juice.

Ellis had mined something that was valuable, even worth killing for. Only all the main suspects seem to have a tight alibi when Ellis was electrocuted.

A good mystery but no one seems to have noticed all the electricity wiring from the substation to the hidden compartment of the computer repair shop.

Of course if the suspects all have an alibi when the murder took place. It is a case of when did the victim actually die.

I also liked the arc regarding DI Parker's blog. He seems to have someone having more than a passing interest his blog.

It's electrifying

Warning: Spoilers
Crypto is the focus of this electrifying (in more ways than one) episode from season 13 of Death in Paradise. I must admit, I know pretty much next to nothing about crypto and all, but I learned a lot about the mistakes from the imdb listing for this episode, so thank you everyone who contributed to the mistakes page for ttis episode. Anyway, I wonder if Parker's fan on his blog is really who she (or he or they if you know what I mean) is, so I look forward to seeing this unfolding possibly as we reach the end of season 13. Anyway, I wonder who will replace Parker in season 13. I'd love to see Danny Dyer replace Ralf Little.

Is this the same 'Death In Paradise'

Warning: Spoilers
I don't know about you but, to me, this show has dramatically changed since DI Parker has come into the show... The writers seem to miss the spot so many times..1st, for this episode 5 series 13 How come no-one asked where all the money came from, and the talent for building the mega computer, let alone the knowledge to build this super computer??? Why did the writers miss out all of this. Ellis had been on the Island only 3 months..

Ellis (the dead fience) was supposedly a grifter type, a broken individual that arrived broke. Yet, after just three months, developed a super analytical skill (Laurette the poor orphan included) to find thousands and thousands of dollars to build this (soo professional) computer, to steal electricity from the islands grid and no one noticed the cables or the surge of energy used, or questioed where all this moneycame fromto build it? This is ludicrous!! Where are the great storylines and characters that there once was? This show needs shaking up tremendously. I used to love Darleens character, but she has changed into someone unrecognisable. All of that spark has gone, and she has become lethargic. No way would the old Darleen have comforted a no good blackmailing liar like Laurette, and vouch for her character having only known her as a small child, it's ridiculous that her DCI didn't have a sit down talk with her previously, and inform her of her duty as a police officer.. The whole set-up of this episode was bad writers, and lack of research. The whole series has gone down the tubes.. The show Definitely needs either a revamp, or, a completely new casting.. Bring back some of the old faces like Jack Mooney, Dwain, JP, and Florence. Kris Marshall would be fantastic!!! This new cast are not up to par, sorry..! It was predictable and not entertaining at all.

I have watched all thirteen series, and these last few series with Ralf Little are thee most unconvincing and lack authenticity and originality...! Needs to be recast..
