A brutal first episode
DVD_Connoisseur6 January 2019
Season 3 opens with a strong first episode. There's a strong sense of danger and foreboding as each of the Orphans face their own personal threat.

After the finale of Season 2, Rachel's in bad shape and her organisation send in a professional "cleaner" to analyse the situation. If anything appears out of order, the "Helsinki" solution will be put into action, meaning all the clones will be terminated. Cue an opportunity for more high jinx with the Orphans playing each other once again.

9 out of 10. A promising opener.

Good season opener, but I want to see more of Castor and Paul!
The season opens with a scene of Helena's ideal fantasy for everyone, a happy dream. Then, she wakes up to find herself in a crate. With a scorpion. Her reaction to this turn of events was over-acted.

The Hendrix family has become one of my favourite story lines since season 2 episode 7, because of their Breaking Bad style transition. This episode more than ever you can feel their new dynamic, and I'm very excited to see where it leads.

We don't learn much about project Castor in this episode, which is a shame. Instead we have Sarah pretending to be Rachel to satisfy an investigation from on high. We see her and Delphine improvising brilliantly. It shows how far she's come since the start; in episode 1 when she impersonated Beth Childs, she was TOTALLY out of her depth. Now, she adapted to the most complex and intense situations like a boss.

[7.6] The detectives taking a nap
cjonesas29 July 2021
A mishmash episode with the mistake of introducing (too many) new characters at the expense of the female clones. Now, it's like a corporation family washing their dirty cloths and lingerie in separate rooms for viewers to mind-numbingly watch.

The tone has changed, it's messier and broader, not in a good way and their blatant mistake is that the police is nowhere to be seen. Where are the detectives?!

Are we gonna watch a whole season with fooled cleaners and impersonating babes?

It's time to play your sister
SJulien1214 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A very good return and for the viewers who hesitate to continue, this is not the time to stop since the best is yet to come even if the tone of the series changes a little bit with this third season. I love the first scene where we see how Helena over-perceives her sisters' (and Felix's) characteristics almost to the point of caricature. We quickly understand that a season full of action awaits her. A difficult season also for Cosima who will not have the support of Delphine to fight her disease and for Sarah who will have to deal with the Castor clones. All it took to dismiss Rachel was a pencil, but she's still a most complex character and it's hard to be happy about her misfortune. Again, Maslany dazzles us and shows that after 3 years she perfectly masters her characters to the point of knowing which clones can play with such level of ease another clone. So, we have a Sarah who confidently, but more or less accurately, inhabits Rachel's white clothes, while a stressed Alison tries somehow to play the insolent rebel. Undercover work is stressful, but allows Sarah to learn more, faster. Also worth mentioning is Krystal's first appearance, but luckily not the last.

Music is way overdone. Everything was dialed to 11
noahmckinnon19 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I really like this series but out of the gates, everything about episode 1 of season 3 was turned up to 11, especially the editing, action, and music. They hit the ground running at 1000 mph, careening off rocks and metal walls. So LOUD! Turn it down! Am I playing a military zombie video game? Heavy industrial DJ garbage just played nonstop throughout this episode. I had trouble hearing some of the dialog. The whole feel has changed. Too rushed. Too everything. Has the creative reigns been given to someone else? Tell the editor to try decaf.

I also find it hard to believe that Delphine has all of sudden become a hardened torturer. And why do the male clones have an exercise machine in their holding cells?

I'll give it one or two more episodes. If the intensity is still cranked up to levels like that ridiculous show 24, I'm out.
