Freddie Prinze Jr. isn’t eager to return to the “Scooby-Doo” franchise.
In a recent interview with TooFab, the 47-year-old actor was quick to turn down the prospect of reuniting with his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, as well as Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini for a third film playing Mystery Incorporated.
“It wouldn’t be something I would do,” Prinze said. “I have zero interest. I mean, it was tricky. It wouldn’t be for me, man.”
The actor clarified that his thoughts on the matter come down to the studio, rather than the project itself. The first “Scooby-Doo” (2002) and its 2004 sequel, “Monsters Unleashed,” were both distributed by Warner Bros.
“There was just so much bait and switch on the first one,” Prinze continued. “The studio was not honest with me in any way, shape, or form… It wasn’t the best. I think I’ve been on two jobs...

The first-ever Scooby-Doo preschool series is headed to HBO Max and Cartoon Network. CGI-animated adventure comedy series Scooby-Doo! And the Mystery Pups will join the Cartoonito preschool block in 2024.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, Scooby-Doo! And the Mystery Pups finds the iconic best pals as camp counselors who lead a “paw”-some new crew on mystery-solving adventures at sleepaway camp.
Per the official logline: As counselors in a lakeside sleepaway camp, Scooby and Shaggy don’t know much about canoes and archery, but they do know how to solve a mystery! In a summer filled with nature hikes, rafting trips and fireside ghost stories, the goofy, good-hearted and can-do duo will share their love for chasing clues with three young camper pups destined to become their own preschool version of Mystery Incorporated.
Scooby-Doo vets Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard will lead the voice cast, playing Scooby and Shaggy respectively. Mark Palmer serves as co-executive producer and showrunner with Erik Knutsen as supervising producer. Sam Register, president, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, also serves as executive producer.
The show will encourage the audience to solve clues alongside the collaborative trio of pups, exemplifying how much can be accomplished with friends by your side. The curiosity and teamwork skillsets align with Cartoonito’s Humancentric Learning Framework, a philosophy that helps children develop their unique potential, by inspiring preschoolers to greet every mystery they encounter with wonder, confidence, and cooperation.
“This show combines everything we love about Scooby—his humor, his loyal friendship with Shaggy, his mystery-loving spirit—all in an innovative and accessible format for preschoolers,” said Amy Friedman, head of kids & family programming, Warner Bros. “Cartoonito parents and caregivers will get to introduce kids to their beloved childhood hero in a totally new way.”
“We are thrilled to finally give preschoolers a version of Scooby to call their own,” added Register. “With plenty of laughs, fun, and clues to chase, this show promises to entertain the youngest of mystery solvers.”...

July is the month that North America goes back to the movies in earnest. There have already been some theatrical release of note this summer, but as everyone knows the blockbuster movie season doesn’t get started until a Marvel movie premieres. Thankfully, with its list of new releases for July 2021, Disney+ is offering up some options for those who prefer to stay home.
In addition to arriving in theaters on July 9, Black Widow will premiere on Disney+ as well. Disney+ subscribers can purchase the first Marvel movie released since 2019 for $29.99. Judging by the early buzz, that “Premier Access” price may be worth it. Disney+ is keeping the original summer movie parade going in July with The Rock’s latest action film, Jungle Cruise, premiering on July 30.

This Killing Eve article contains spoilers through the Season 3 finale.
We don’t chiefly watch Killing Eve for the plot, but that doesn’t mean we’re not dying to find out exactly what the deal is with The Twelve, the mysterious organization that has sent Villanelle and other assassins around the world to commit a series of precision (or sometimes not) murders. With their hands in politics and commercial forces around the world, The Twelve’s influence is broad and terrifying. At this point, it’s unclear how much control they actually have, though we know that people who get in their way usually end up dead.
Season 3 has arguably made the most progress yet on uncovering the mystery of what exactly The Twelve is and who is involved. Here’s what we know so far…
Who Are The Twelve?

Scoob! is now available to rent or buy on digital, and fans and families everywhere are tucking into the animated movie, which is actually the first big-budget Scooby-Doo film in 16 years. However, it’s not something that everyone’s celebrating, as many Mystery Incorporated lovers are furious at Warner Bros. for replacing the regular voice acting cast.
Will Forte (Shaggy), Zac Efron (Fred), Amanda Seyfried (Daphne) and Gina Rodriguez (Velma) play the characters in Scoob!, with only franchise veteran Frank Welker returning as Scooby from the regular actors who portray the gang in the animated TV series and direct-to-dvd movies.
For Shaggy star Matthew Lillard, in particular, it was pretty crushing not to be asked back for this production. In a Zoom interview with Entertainment Tonight’s Ash Crossan, the actor opened up on his disappointment about being replaced, and you can see what he had to say below:

When animated reboot Scoob! reaches theaters, it will be the first time in about 16 years that Mystery Incorporated have made the jump to the big screen. The first two times were the duo of live-action Scooby-Doo movies that released in 2002 and 2004, respectively. Scooby fans who grew up with the films remember them very fondly, in no small part due to the script from future Guardians of the Galaxy helmer James Gunn.
Unfortunately, Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed didn’t earn enough at the box office to get a third installment greenlit. But if it had, Gunn would have been the one to direct it, taking over from Raja Gosnell, who did the first two. The filmmaker revealed this news during an Instagram Q&a over the weekend. When asked why Scooby-Doo 3 never happened, Gunn explained:

The search for Quentin Tarantino’s Charles Manson is over. The Wrap confirms the director has cast Australian actor Damon Herriman as the infamous serial killer in his ninth feature, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” The casting news arrives as Tarantino is already well into production on the 1969-set movie, which is shaping up to be his penultimate effort if he sticks to his plan to retire after ten movies.
“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a television actor trying to break into the film industry alongside his friends and stuntman, played by Brad Pitt. The characters live next door to Sharon Tate and Roman Polanski, played by Margot Robbie and Rafal Zawierucha. Tate and four others were murdered by members of the Manson Family cult on August 9, 1969.
Herriman is best known in the U.S. for playing Dewey Crowe on five seasons of the FX series “Justified.

Incorporated was quietly canceled on Syfy today.
The series about a future run by corporations giving them unlimited power and a man from a poor background (Sean Teale) who infiltrated their world in an attempt to save his childhood love.
Incorporated was pulling in about 500k viewers per week, well below series such as The Magicians and The Expanse.
Syfy has other series on tap, including Krypton and The Haunted and recently ordered two more seasons of its incredible horror anthology series Channel Zero.
If you've been waiting for CBS All Access' Star Trek: Discovery, prepare to wait a bit longer.
CBS Chief Les Moonves was at a business conference when he shared the news the upcoming Star Trek series would fly "sometime late summer early fall...probably."

Finally, finally, finally a Laura centric episode! And it was well worth the wait.
It took slogging through a morass of tedium, but on Incorporated Season 1 Episode 6 we finally got to see what happened to Laura eight years ago, and how it started her downward spiral of self destruction.
I've made it very clear that the only character that means a damn to me on this show is Laura. She has a heart, a soul, and actual Feelings, which is very hard to come by in this world.
The fact that she is being used by Ben is heartbreaking, because for some reason she really loves that louse.
Ben is such a stone cold schemer, and to use another human being the way he uses Laura is reprehensible.
I mean, using birth control behind Laura's back, when you know that all she wants in the whole world is a baby?...

Even in the future, you have to pay the cost to be the boss.
That's the gist of Incorporated Season 1 Episode 4, which is, unfortunately, another snore-fest (Sigh).
Every character faces a choice, either in flashbacks or present day, and must decide if they are willing to pay the price to get what they want.
The problem, just like in all the previous episodes, is that I just don't care about the characters enough to give a damn about what decisions they make.
The brave new world angle about baby gestators and choosing every genetic trait of your child is supposed to be chilling I guess, but everyone on the show acts like they are choosing an emoji to insert into an Im, not all aspects of a human being.
We are not having a clone of me. Don't you want the baby to look like you at all?
Laura Permalink:...

Blah, blah, blah, blah.
We're only up to Incorporated Season 1 Episode 2, and watching it is already a slog.
The same problems that plagued Incorporated Season 1 Episode 1 are abundant in this episode, as well.
Flat, unlikable characters, a plot that has a "been there, done that" feel and just an overall paint-by-numbers world.
The attempt at a back story for Ben/Aaron was very ordinary, only reinforcing what we already know: that he knew his love Elena from his Red Zone days.
The thing about this show is that they drop in some little nuggets that are reasonably clever, such as lines like this:
What's going on downstairs is just the tip of the iceberg. Do you know that expression? It's from when I was a kid.

Matt Damon is once again addressing the whitewashing controversy surrounding his upcoming film “The Great Wall.”
Directed by Chinese helmer Zhang Yimou, the fantasy-action film stars Damon as a mercenary warrior who leads an army of elite warriors to confront a wave of marauding beasts who besiege the Great Wall of China.
After the teaser debuted over the summer, the project was slammed with whitewashing accusations because the movie starred a white American actor. “Fresh Off the Boat” actress Constance Wu even tweeted, “We have to stop perpetuating the racist myth that only a white man can save the world.”

An upcoming episode of Syfy’s future-set drama “Incorporated” begins with this: a carbon copy of the sort of starving children ads that Sally Struthers used to host in the 1990s. There’s a wistful little boy staring at the camera as he strokes his battered stuffed toy and a pleading, pitying narrator explaining how he and other children like him go days without food or clean water.
Here’s the twist: The little boy’s name is Johnny, and the narrator is speaking Chinese. For 100 yuan a day, generous Chinese souls can help the children of a broken America in the year 2073. Watching that cold open at this exact moment in our history is science fiction that might be a little too real. You can forget about “The Walking Dead” or “The Exorcist”: “Incorporated” may be the scariest show on television.

Stop me if you've heard this one before: In a world where evil corporations rule a future dystopian Earth, an ordinary man fights to find the one he loves against insurmountable odds!
Yeah, sounds Very familiar. That basically sums up Incorporated Season 1 Episode 1, and that's not a good thing.
The "Evil Corporation" trope is tired and worn out, but it keeps cropping up like a bad penny. From Rollerball, Soylent Green, Robocop, the Alien films, Elysium, and Snowpiercer, the list goes on and on.
Sci fi has always been, at it's best, a drastic take on our societal fears, going all the way back to the 1950's nuke mutated bug movies to today's fear of technology shows like Black Mirror.
The devil, as they say, is in the details. It's an old show pony, but if the story is well done, then we can at least enjoy a new take on the same old,...

Three episodes were provided prior to broadcast.
It’s somewhere around the explanation of Incorporated‘s bifurcated future world, wherein unemployed urchins rule the slums and sleek worker bees look down their noses from glossy high-rises, that Syfy’s new show peaks creatively. The vision echoes the futures of plenty of other sci-fi works (weirdly, I was reminded of the Ethan Hawke, us-vs-them vampire flick Daybreakers), but it has undeniably interesting ideas of its own.
Unfortunately, that exact moment where the show peaks creatively is in an opening credits scroll; the subsequent story navigating us through Incorporated‘s potentially bountiful near-future is sluggish and, as far as duplicitous business thrillers go, inert. Incorporated falls further along the high-quality end of the Syfy spectrum than, say, Aftermath or Hunters, but it’s far short of the network’s current best: The Expanse and The Magicians. An interesting world worth getting lost...

Don’t expect to see flying cars or lots of lasers on “Incorporated.”
Instead, Syfy’s latest futuristic series set in 2074 features very accessible technology, such as self-driving cars and wearable tech, that only appear a step or two beyond what we have today. That familiarity makes “Incorporated’s” grimmer aspects of the future seem all too plausible. It’s a world where natural food resources and clean water are dwindling and have created fierce competition.

Documentarian Owsley Brown’s third feature, “Serenade for Haiti,” is bound for New York City’s prestigious Doc NYC festival next month, and continues his burgeoning tradition of exploring and celebrating music and art. The film was shot over a seven-year period and focuses on the Sainte Trinité Music School in Port-au-Prince, all the better to capture a little-seen side of Haiti and some of its wonderfully talented youth.
The film is billed “as story of resilience and great humanity [that] unfolds as the teachers and students of Sainte Trinité sustain a deep commitment to music and education against extraordinary odds, including the destruction of their school in the 2010 earthquake and the subsequent efforts to rebuild it.”

This weekend Ben Affleck adds his star power to the faltering fall box office. His action thriller “The Accountant” (Warner Bros.) boasts the best chance to land atop the Top Ten this weekend, ahead of two other wide openers: comedy “Kevin Hart: What Now?” (Universal) and Mattel actioner “Max Steel” (Open Road). But if it falters, “What Now?” might be an upset winner.
Happily for studio accountants, all three films are at the low end of budget ranges, all economical enough to make profits more likely. But theater revenues could fall 20% or more from the same mid-October weekend last year. Last year’s Top Ten totaled $109 million. This year’s should fall short of $100 million.
Last year also saw three openers—”Goosebumps,” “Bridge of Spies” and “Crimson Peak” (ranging from $24 to $15 to 13 million respectively)— along with strong holdover grosses for “The Martian” and “Hotel Transylvania 2.” Every position this...

Hollywood has fallen in love with China (specifically Hong Kong) as their new favorite place to destroy. From “Transformers: Age of Extinction” to “Pacific Rim,” China has been repeatedly devastated through the magic of CGI by monsters, aliens and sci-fi creatures thanks to blockbuster directors moving their projects to China. They’re not only to reap the benefits of a newly established marketing cash cow, but also relish the country’s fervent filmic support.
Now, China has recruited now its very own Zhang Yimou to wreak havoc with “The Great Wall,” which is set a few thousand years earlier during the mystical times of China’s medieval era. In anticipation of the flick’s release, New York Comic-Con hosted a panel with the stars and director of Legendary East’s Chinese blockbuster.
