Jon Lovitz and Jackie Mason return in a post-golden era episode (for me the golden era is the first 10 seasons for sure). There were some golden moments in this episode, Fears of a Clown, particularly when Bart is pranked big time by Principal Skinner and the rest of the School, when he is tricked into thinking the Principal is retiring.

The part about Krusty performing in regional theater is quite funny and touching and could have been a plot in its own right.

The revenge prank of Bart planting clown faces on all and sundry was also not bad.

So the parts were kind of less than the sum in this episode.

The previous episode was good, but this is just lazy writing!

I mean really, what the hell!

It just has some crazy puns, that are by itself kind of funny. I'm saying "kind of" because it really doesn't build up any moment.

Would enjoy it as a clip show, but the pacing is horrible, no buildup, tension, no story and it even takes content from other episodes (from the lines of Clark Gable, the fracking stuff, and a lot more).

Most of the moments have no start or end, it just happens for the sake of recording enough minutes to make it an episode

Did you guys just had a session of mindless voiceovers in a room, or did you outsource it to India?

Anyway, the writer and some other people should be fired!

Bart and Krusty try to improve their lives, but nothing changes. Krusty is fired again, and even trying a new path, then he gives up and goes back to the old one, for the 9th time. Bart again has a chance to redeem himself, yet he ends up backing down and disappointing his mother. What we learned from this episode, that things will never change for these two, and that the characters are hopeless.
