My Xbox 360 physical collection

by ricardopthomaz | created - 05 Nov 2014 | updated - 05 Mar 2016 | Public

As a guy who played video games growing up and lived in the classic video game era, having an Atari 2600, a Sega Genesis, playing Nintendo on my friend's house, then having a Nintendo 64 and emulating Playstation games on the PC, the also playing a lot of PC games, I felt the need to jump in to the next generation of consoles, so I bought a XBox 360 on March, 2012. An so I started to collect some games, some of them reminds me of my beloved childhood growing up and some of them bring something new to the table. Also as a guy who was born on the 1980s, I have a particular way to see media, hence I wasn't that used to this download thing in consoles that we have today, when I buy a product, normally I like to put my hands on it. Anyway, things changed and so was the gaming world. Anyway, I bought some downloadable content on the Windows Live store as well, then, I'll share it here too. So here they are, my XBox 360 collection. These are all the Xbox 360 games that I own physically, every game I have the DVD, the physical media, the box, you got the idea. I also got "on demand" games, but these will be in another list.

Add to Watchlist “ Beaten!

One of the coolest games I've ever played. Different from everything I ever saw in my life, this is a mix between fps (very little) and first person exploration. It's engaging, it's fun but it's difficult as hell, get ready to die constantly! The story is great and the ending is very rewarding! ” - ricardopthomaz

“ Came with my console when I bought it.

In fact, I don't really know why someone would give two cents for this title, as it's only reason to exist is to showcase your Kinect gadget capabilities. So yeah, not much of a fan, but it's great sometimes to keep that little wimp of your cousin busy for some hours. In my case, my little 5 year old wimp of a cousin here rather plays with Kinect Star Wars instead of it, so, yeah, this title is quickly becoming useless to me. ” - ricardopthomaz

“ One of the greatest fighting games of all in it's fourth installment. Great title. I was always more of a Mortal Kombat guy, but I also used to spend most of my money with this too on the good ol'days! ” - ricardopthomaz

“ Beaten!

I am a sucker for Remedy. I became one after playing the two Max Payne titles and love every minute of them on my PC. When I first heard that they were developing this, I got a fever, because I wanted to play it so much! The problem was that I used to only own a PC at that time and this was a XBox exclusive game. That's not true today, of course, but this game was the main reason why I chose the XBox 360 as a console in first place. And this game rocks! I love every second of it, love the characters, love the mythology, love the playability, I just got sucked by the world it created, seeming a whole lot like a Stephen King horror story! So yeah, since I got it, I've been playing it like crazy and I never get tired of it. Can't wait for the sequel! ” - ricardopthomaz

9. Mortal Kombat (2011 Video Game)

M | Action, Adventure, Fantasy

“ This was the very first title I bought for my XBox 360. I was crazy to find Alan Wake first, but I couldn't wait more to play the new Mortal Kombat installment either. It got a cheaper price at that time, so I bought it first. And being a true fan of the Mortal Kombat series growing up, I can safely say that this one is the very best of all! Great installment! You can either play the normal classic tournament or the story mode and they are both very entertaining and very challenging. As a fan, I recommend it! ” - ricardopthomaz

10. Duke Nukem Forever (2011 Video Game)

Stars: Jon St. John, Chloe Clark-Soles, Jennifer Ibarra, Bruce DuBose

“ Beaten!

I never understood why this game got so low ratings in the time of it's release. Yeah, it's not perfect but it's very much like the classic Duke Nukem 3D we know and love, at least to me. The only problem is that here you can't rely on the classic cheat codes, DNKROZ, DNSTUFF and yeah, you probably know them all backwards! But despite that, it's a nice comeback that will get you Duked for a long, long time, so "come get some", because IMHO of fan, this one gets a "damn, I'm good" from me! ” - ricardopthomaz

11. L.A. Noire (2011 Video Game)

Votes: 16,625

“ Beaten!

Wow!! Impressive game! Makes you dive really deep in the 40's and really keeps you hooked on your seat with the control! I'm becoming addicted by it by the minute, because I'm a sucker for noir stories and police stories as well. It's like an interactive version of L.A. Confidential! So yeah, I truly recommend it! ” - ricardopthomaz

Stars: James McCaffrey, Julian Rebolledo, Frank Rodriguez, Benedita Pereira

Votes: 11,551

I never understood why Remedy decided to give full control to the Max Payne series for Rockstar. The two first games of the series, the Remedy ones, they are like Kill Bill volumes 1 and 2, one single story, and also great games as well, once you finish them, you got a complete story, there was no need for a sequel. But Rockstar decided to try it and... yeah, has it's great moments, specially on the flashbacks, but in general, as a fan, I got a little disappointed; it certainly doesn't feel either like a Max Payne game or like a sequel to the other two games. It's a Rockstar game with very little Remedy inheritance, so it's a nice playing, but the story takes the character nowhere and doesn't develop the character any longer. Play it for the fun of shooting bad guys, but in terms of storytelling, it's very inferior to Max Payne 1 and 2. Also, it removes from the Max Payne series, things I used to enjoy, like the noir feeling, the bad nightmares and the comic book cutscenes. I missed those! ” - ricardopthomaz

14. Kinect Star Wars (2012 Video Game)

T | Action, Family, Fantasy

Four mini games in which players can control the movement of their 'Star Wars' AI characters.

Directors: Jorg Neumann, Ali Donovan | Stars: Jennifer Hale, Tom Kane, Jean Gilpin, Nolan North

Votes: 259

“ Got it on a fire sale on a store. Glad I did it, because it's a real good Kinect game, flawed, but very good and very enjoyable, specially the combats! I get this to work every time my 5 year old cousin comes to my house and he has the time of his life playing it. I also have a great time when I want to exercise in front of my console, so yeah, I recommend it. ” - ricardopthomaz
