"Into the Crevasse" was another mostly hilarious ep of "30 Rock" for me
tavm24 July 2011
In this ep of "30 Rock": Liz has a book out that makes everyone hate her, Jack faces his old nemesis-Devon Banks (Will Arnett)-at a congressional hearing, and Jenna and Tracy try to get even with Liz...This was another hilarious episode that had mostly great punchlines. I especially liked Tracy's subplot about making a porn version of Liz' life because of his reaction of his wife to Liz' book. And what about that final confrontation between Jack and Devon. Oh, and Kenneth is always a hoot whenever he's on screen, as usual. Okay, maybe Jack's "ideas" about improving his company lean on the lame side but, still, "Into the Crevasse" was for the most part, hilarious to me.

Warning: Spoilers
Liz gets lots of heat because of her book from many men whose wives read it. Tracy and Jenna want to have a revenge on her for the book and the new cast member. And Jack goes to Washington for a hearing and faces Devon Banks there.

It is always great to see Devon Bam...Bam...Bam! The two actors on screen together are great. So many wonderful lines, great chemistry, every episode we have Jack vs. Devon is great.

I also liked the continuation of Liz's book story. Some of the deal-breakers she posted really are kind of uncalled for and nasty, so it was great to see the man in the book store rip apart her carton figure.

Kenneth volunteering in the dog shelter was great as well. It is nice to bring it to the public attention and it was also funny, so a win altogether. Besides the dogs his Big Brother program made me laugh, great idea.

Hilarious!

Warning: Spoilers
Here Liz faces the consequences of her quest to find a new cast member, with absolutely hilarious consequences! The parody at the end was very on-spot, with lots of tittering for sure.

It's easy to forget that 30 Rock and Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip debuted on NBC at the same time. Conventional wisdom was that Sorkin's powerhouse series be the one that would survive the first season, with 30 Rock being a one season wonder. But history has proved otherwise.
