The story, characters, and of course the outstanding cast make this my favorite movie. The story always kept you on the edge of your seat and the ending seemed true and honest, not hollywood. It was a very deep movie and one that had that wow factor. A true masterpiece.

After watching this movie I was shocked to find out that it never won any Oscars. It was only nominated for two, Best Supporting Actor and Film Editing. It should have been up for Best Actor, Best Picture, Best Cinematography, and somethin for the sublime soundtrack. This is really an amazing movie and throughout the movie you get to see the main character grow. The ending was one of the best scenes ever to grace the big screen. Truly something to behold.

The story may seem simple if not overused, a mentally ill person who achieves great things even with his disadvantages. But Forrest is so much better then just about any movie. The story seems so real even if it might be a stretch of the imagination. The genius part of this movie is that there isn't a "bad guy". Every movie now has someone you cheer against but in this movie it you want to see the characters grow and achieve no matter how minor they are.
